Last time I called them was around november-december of last year, and the guy's wife told me that they were still in business. I called the number that appears on google, but I havent tried contacting them again. Right now I want to test to play some ssf4 in a perfect 360 optical stick, and this is the guy that used to sell them. Now I guess I have no choice but to buy the part myself from lizardlick and try to mount it too. Stick mod tutorial 101 anyone? =/

Thats the new number I was able to track down.

Anyways I have a ps2/dc one and am currently using a converter to play on my ps3. Are there any tutorials anywhere on how to rewire this for a ps3? I have been having connectivity issues with mine (10 years old). Thanks for any help!

I dont know of any MAS specific tutorials, but removing the MAS electronics and putting in an MC Cthulhu in its place is dead simple. Plug in a USB cord and you're done for PC and PS3; if you want to, you can solder a Dreamcast and/or Playstation cord as well and still play on those systems still.

Buy a ps2 --> ps3 converter. If you ask MAS that's what they'd tell you to buy anyway.

I just got in contact w/ Lynn at MAS and she's in fact working on a stick for me - so yeah - it appears they are still in business. They only take cash tho.

Are you using the controller for what games on the Wii. Not all Wii titles support GC controllers, nether all virtual console titles.
GC controllers should work fine on GC games played on the Wii.

The controller does not work on any games. GC, WiiWare, Virtual Console, Wii games with GC controller support, all have no response at all.

I'm sold, how do I go about buying one?
You can either call our phone number directly (714) 839 9770, or contact me through a PM with the following format. However, it is highly reccomended that you use the format below, or something similar to it. It just makes it easier to process/finalize your order, and things do go a lot quicker that way. It also helps to ensure that we can stay organized with our orders, instead of trying to keep track of a single order over multiple messages. No offense to anyone who has already done that, it's just preferred that we have things more organized! Thanks a lot!

You can also PM me for any questions, comments, or concerns.

    - MAS Systems

P.S. We are fully aware of the fact that our phone seems to be having a lot of trouble with receiving calls, however you can still place an order either through here or through a PM. I?ll be able to get you set up just the same.

How can I PM you? You're listed as a guest.

Apologies for the thread necromancy in advance. Tried calling today at both the 714-775-8116 and 714-839-9770 numbers, no dice. I sent in two Saturn/Dreamcast sticks about 2 years ago for mods/updates and they've never sent them back. Any new contact info? I'd like to have these back.

They said they didn't have the parts we wanted at the time; we contacted them once or twice but didn't get much satisfaction. It's become one of those "oh yeah, that thing that I put on my to do list but have procrastinated about ever since" items.

Called just yesterday; both numbers come up as disconnected. :(

That sucks, sounds like they might have changed the numbers since they got posted all over the place. Anthony took off after taking a beating over here.

Sorry, as per Tech Talk rules there NO Selling in this forum. You have to go to the trading post and follow their qualifications to sell on SRK.

Is it dual modded? I've seen MAs Sticks go for way less and dual modded.

Damn, I can't possibly take MAS seriously after seeing the picture of the inside of that stick with 99 cent scotch tape holding the wiring together like that.

I know, but its old news now. As far as I know the company went under (sad really). You chances of finding a MAS stick is now pretty much limited to the 2nd hand market.

So I've been looking around at a bunch of different stick options and I'm really feeling the MAS stick (I grew up playing MvC2 in the arcades). I was just wondering if anyone knows how difficult it would be to mod a MAS stick (I would get a 360 one) once it starts crapping out on me? I noticed that the newest sticks (on arcadeshock) use the HAPP comp stick and Sanwa buttons. The buttons should be easy to replace but how about that stick? What if I wanted to replace it with a Japanese style stick?

I know MAS isn't around anymore and I would hate to get stuck with a great stick for a few months then a huge paperweight once the stick stops working. Such a shame for anyone looking for an American style stick.

Modding should be pretty easy if you know what your doing. As for changing the stick? I wouldn't know. I only know how to modd using american parts. Also ebay is a good place to find preowned Mas stick.

Hey dude, thanks for the quick reply! Guess it's time to start hunting. I'll come to you if I have any American modding questions.

Mas sticks are fairly easy to mod because of their straight forwards and simple construction. MAS was never made to accept anything but American style parts.
The Newer Arcade shock sticks are not MAS sticks.

An Actual Mas, the Arcade Shock, X-arcade and other American style arcade sticks will need some modifying to make Japanese parts fit.
Keep in mind Happs are made to be installed in thick wooden panels while Japanese parts are meant for thin metal or plastic housing.

Your best bet is the Sanwa JWL, as it the only Japanese stick that can be mounted like a Happs.
You will need new holes to be drilled for the mount and some minor routing done on the underside of the panel.

Oh wow. I had no idea arcadeshock was hocking stuff under the MAS name. On that note, how difficult would it be to switch out american buttons for the installed Sanwa? That would include a bit of wirework wouldn't it? And maybe some button hole modifications?

It doesn't look like buying replacement HAPP sticks isn't as difficult as I initially thought so I would stick to that as long as I had the big box.

Thanks in advance, you guys have been a huge help.

who said that arcade shock sticks are not official MAS sticks? I don't know why you act like it would be hard for them to accept Japanese parts its a freaking MDF case it can hold any screw in buttons. true if you have a case already built for happ parts its a pain to retro fit it for Japanese parts, but it would not be hard at all for them to build a case for Japanese using the same design they have been using. Its a case plane and simple it can use any buttons or joystick I'm calling bullshit here.
