Is there any way to run one of these in an arcade with ae 2012? Can you lock the controls or something until the customer puts money in it?
rcaido, post: 6742173, member: 4387 wrote:
Im pretty sure its possible as i remember back in the day there were dreamcast arcade cabs...I think they used timers though...It was called MGCD or jammacast i believe...
There is an xbox 360 timer board here
This probably will work if your cabinet is already jamma ready or you have an arcade cabinet...The only problem would be the controls as i think jamma only has 3 or 4 buttons available...
Just heads up i bought one of these awhile back for my modded xbox...The controls were buggy as hell & picture quality wasn't that great...Plus im pretty sure it is illegal....I think if you want to use this as a business is better to just rent out the cab per hour basis...Its probably the easiest way to do business with it...

oops, I sent you the German version, my bad

Hmm.Those converters are interesting. Sucks the controls are so bad. I want one of these 2 seater kraylix cabs to put an ae setup in, but I need to find a way to run them on a coin basis. All the arcade machines are run that way in the arcade,so I don't know how charging on an hourly basis for just one machine would work. I was hoping there would be a way to leave the machine on the arcade mode select screen with the controls locked until they pay. That way the 2nd played would just have to pay and hit start, just like a true arcade machine.
rcaido, post: 6742627, member: 4387 wrote:
Like i said though, what you're trying to do is illegal...But if you charge an hourly rate for the machine is kind of like a loop hole...You're pretty much renting out your equipment for an hour. Kind of like those computer shops charge for lan gaming...Also i really wouldn't recommend have a vewilx cab out on location, you're better off w/ candy cabinet that is more durable for heavy use...

you start with 80 grit followed by 220-300 grit. you need to bondo first before sanding. then apply primer. sand the primer with 220 as needed. apply color coats. sand again as needed. apply clear coat. buff for mirror finish. that's the simple version

Thanks aminthemachine. I'm having the cabinet painted by someone. Is it better to paint it while it's still apart or put together? As far as the sanding goes I'll be doing it myself.

i am doing all the sanding/prep work and the painting while having it seperated.

You all should try Krylon Xmetals. That stuff is the sexiest paint Ive ever used on MDF and Plastics. Its like a combo acrylic dye and paint.

Pics look great man. Are you just doing white? Did you use automotive paint and what's the model of your spray gun (devilbiss finishline flg 4 possibly)? I'm planning to do black and red for my cab. I'm in the midst of buying the necessary paints needed.

Depending on the size of your air compressor you can get gravity guns or regular. I got gravity because my brother in law has a smaller compressor so gravity works better with it.

Would you mind listing which compressor you're using with your guns? After looking at your pics it seems to be working out really well. Also I don't know if you can answer this but if I decided to use metal flake paint or introduce metal flakes into whichever paint loaded into the gun; would it still work? As in, actually distribute and not become clogged?
