As 8ing fans may be able to tell from the gameplay, the engine was changed from the trainwreck of the two previous games. Since 8ing is more than competent at porting animations and hitboxes between their games, we can still expect all of the assets from previous games to be expanded upon.
If we're lucky, it will have the new super animations and characters that were in Kamen Rider Ganbaride, an arcade trading card game from the same developers.

    Game will have 5 grooves
    -red gauge allows to power up to 1 more strong form. Character can have 2 different red grooves if he has two different strong forms to choose from.
    -green gauge allows to shift between several forms of around same strength, anytime (mid-combos too). You choose with which form to start battle, too.
    -blue gauge allows to activate superspeed (blurred background / slow motion for opponent)
    -orange gauge allows to summon helpers/strikers
    -grey gauge allows nothing

    Not all characters can access all grooves; Kabuto has 1 red and 1 blue to choose from, Den-O has Red, Green and Orange I think, Hibiki has 2 red ones to choose from, etc.

    There are mechanics like getting full super gauge at low lifebar (Climax Time); and a "super reversal" mechanic with active time event right after you are hit with opponent's super. If your super gauge is full and you input needed button sequence, you reverse opponent's super. There's also some sort of "clash" mechanic you can see in PV2. I cant really say if its super reversal (in which case its both supers being negated), or its another mechanic, because I lack details on that.

    There is beat-em-up mode called Ragnarok Mode. You can take 2 characters to it, shifting between them anytime. It allows to use unique finishers aimed against multiple opponents.

    PSP version allows for custom soundtrack (unlike Wii version)

    Characters may have different supers based on groove used.

    A magazine mentions Garren being in, no confirmation on site so far; could be a mistake or misprint (or not). Considering only Blade and Hibiki series lacked secondary riders, and regarding new content, Hibiki getting new form in OOO game and Blade getting nothing, its only logical to include Blade's secondary rider (Garren)

    Some people already got their hands on the game (apparently theres an iso floating over chinese sector of internet).

    So, more new info:

    -Unlocked at beginning are: Main riders (Kuuga~OOO), G3-X, Knight, Gatack, Zeronos, IXA and Diend

    -You still need to unlock part of forms/grooves even for these riders (like Knight's Survive form is locked initially, same as Den-O's Super Climax Form). OOO starts with all his forms already unlocked though.

    -Characters that lacked supers in previous games (i.e. likes of Kaixa, G3-X, Gatack, Autovajin) still lack supers but now each of them has at least 3 special moves. Hoppers still have 2 special moves.

    -Super of Zeronos went to Zeronos+Zero form, so if you select Zeronos+Vega form you will have no super.

    -Diend lost his old super and only has Dimension Shoot now. He can also choose which character to summon in battle (Scissors, Gai, Punch Hopper, Femme, Ouja, Raia, maybe some others as well)

    -Blade also has Jack secondary form (aside of King form)

    -Blade's card interface shown over his gauge has no gameplay meaning; its just a decoration where appropriate card combo highlights each time you perform a special move or super.

    -No details on Ryuki card system yet, its possible that it works similarly.

    It looks a bit slow. But Im reserving my gameplay comments until I can actually get my hands on the damn thing myself. But watching that fight between W and Den-O rod form looks to have some long damaging combos. I just wish the game wouldn't almost end after a few key combos.

    Game has Rider Cancel (like Roman Cancel from GG, costs 25% of gauge and allows to cancel anything except super, into anything), so it allows for decent custom combos. Characters have twin ring effect over them when they do that cancel.

    Then you also get form branch combos (when you change form in the middle of combo).

    I guess combo breakers will remain as well (in prev. games their cost was 75% of gauge).

    Amount of health can be modified too (default is triple lifebar but you can set it to go from 1 to 6 lifebars in pre-battle options). This does not affect the difference in characters' stamina.

    More news:

    -Instead of side rolls, now game has normal 3D sidestepping it seems

    -Kiva lost ground-based Darkness Moon Break and got Rider punch instead; still has aerial Darkness Moon Break

    -Decade still can use only one Kamen Ride form at a time (so you choose which you want pre-battle), and whichever rider form you chose, you also get their Final Form Ride equipped.

    -Double LunaMetal form electric whip attack was changed to something different from TV show.

    -The super used by Double's form change style (green gauge groove) is the same old Joker Extreme from previous game

    -Confirmed minor enemies for Ragnarok mode are: Gelnewt, Raydragoon (from Ryuki series), Riotrooper (from Faiz series), Salis Worm (from Kabuto series), Masquerade Dopant (from Double series)

    -Odin appears early in Ragnarok mode so he probably isnt the final boss

    -A bunch of new SFX was added to the game

    -Game has 4 new arenas in addition to 7 returning arenas.

    -"Climax Time" activates when your opponent has less than 1 lifebar left, it gives you full Rider Gauge and music theme of your character starts playing.

    -Ryuki riders have card system where each card has rank of 1-4 points and becomes available to use once you get such number of Rider Gauge segments (and uses up these segments), so for example weapon summon will use up 1 gauge segment, monster summon 2 segments etc.

    -Blade riders have card system where card combination just highlights by itself as you do special moves or supers; there cards have no gameplay meaning.

    -Decade can only choose 1 Kamen Ride and 1 Final Form Ride using Green gauge groove.

    -Supers still start as some generic normal (punch/kick) that triggers cutscene super if connects, and wont use up gauge if misses/gets blocked.
    However supers arent as spammable as before because
    1)That punch/kick will have special super startup animation that closes up on character (like Blade will get cards from his sword during camera closeup, then will do the punch), which will alarm the human opponent so to say, and
    2)if opponent too has full gauge, after your super connects he has 2 seconds window to Final Reflect your super.

    -Final Reflect makes characters "clash" with winner decided by what seems button mashing contest(?), and the one who wins performs his super. Final Reflect can be seen here:

    (Faiz connects super, during that Accel successfully performs Final Reflect, clash contest begins etc)

    The last rider, surprisingly, is CycloneAccel Xtreme. The combined form of Double and Accel fueled by pure hate, that remained a never-to-happen possibility in TV series and was generally considered uncanon or at least out-of-continuity form.

    This is the game right? Buy Kamen Rider Climax Heroes OOO (Nintendo? Wii) - Play-Asia.com just want to be 1000% sure before i purchase. Also, how is the gameplay for those who have been playing it? Does it play like anything else, even if a little? etc.. It fun? pretty dope? The good, the bad? :P

    The graphics and gameplay look really polished, theres a ton of characters/specials. It lacks high-low games and crouching animation but has all the other types of mindgames (wakeups, guard break, throw/teching, unblockables, evasion, crossups/backhits, super clashes etc). Meter management is good, you can only get in the big combos by using Rider Cancel (like Roman Cancel) for 25% of gauge; without it you absolutely cannot link from default normals/combo strings to different ones or to specials, and of course you also use meter for summons, supers, and to cancel blocking animation into sidestep. You can charge gauge (at which part of chars is really slow), this is only useful when you knocked opponent away and probably doubles as taunt.

    This is wrong (OOO game bases on KRDK engine/graphics instead of previous Climax Heroes engines, if anything its a "KRDK OOO" with more content/chars included), see more detailed explanation below:

    Explaining about this game serie:

    First game: Kamen Rider Climax Heroes (PS2), had 13 playable chars (with 14th being palette swap of Decade with boosted states), and some gameplay flaws/infinites.

    Second game: Kamen Rider Dragon Knight (Wii), there american developers just took Climax Heroes engine and animations, removed 3D aspect, upped the graphic/polygon/texture/special effect standards dramatically, and put 13 Ryuki riders plus 2 more forms as separate chars (Dragon Knight riders in it; with game still using arenas and music from original Climax Heroes game. They also added brand new beat'em up mode where you can use all the characters to beat hordes of mooks. Instead of special moves, game used card system from TV show, where you could only use each card once per round and each card needed specific amount of gauge to be used.

    Third game: Kamen Rider Climax Heroes W (Wii), this is the successor of PS2 game with added characters (has 23 characters + 1 mentioned palette swap char + 4 monster chars with not so much special moves). This is basically a "more chars" update to original game with minor tweaks, it still has low graphic standards/blurry textures and has nothing common with KRDK game aside of arenas. Game still suffers from bad balance/infinites for several chars. Additionally half of characters are "secret" hidden behind portraits of main characters, and since two players cant share the same square on select screen (no mirror matches), it also means for example you can use IXA versus Punch Hopper because Punch Hopper is selected while holding Start while selecting IXA. Looked like stupid decision of devs. Arcade Mode was removed from game, leaving only Vs. CPU mode(vs 2P mode) where you select your opponent for single match and Survival Mode.

    Fourth game: Kamen Rider Climax Heroes OOO (Wii + PSP). What they do here is: They throw original engine away and take KRDK engine/button mapping/high graphic standards/beat'em up mode as base; KRDK chars have their card system tweaked to work better and they are renamed and re-voiced to originak KR Ryuki riders (show of which american Dragon Knight was an adaptation). All character models and special move effects from the 23 chars of KRCH:W are re-created from scratch, there are serious tweaks to all the characters (including changed and/or new special moves, and few KRDK char supers were tweaked as well), to meter management and to overall gameplay, all the infinites were disposed of. When characters go into upgraded forms mid-battle, they dont have unlimited gauge anymore, instead they start with empty gauge again but its form duration that is unlimited now, much more balanced. 3D aspect remains but now in form of sidestepping (previous Climax Heroes games had side rolls). Theres' also alot of new SFX. Game has brand new Ragnarok Mode which combines beat'em up stages/fighting mode stages/storyline stages as cells of big map you travel while unlocking chars and stuff. Arcade Mode (serie of fights vs random chars/random stages) is back, Vs.CPU and vs.2P modes are still in but Survival Mode is gone. Every character has separate square on select screen but still no mirror matches. There are 4 new arenas. A system of grooves was introduced so you can play part of characters in radically different way. The game has 38 characters (over 70 forms with different gameplay), and so far is the most polished and "complete" entry in series.

    Yes you can run all these games on PC in case you dont have PS2 or Wii, there is netplay possibility but I havent tested it yet.

    I think he was trying to say that KRDK is technically not a straight localization of Climax Heroes. It's got some unique gameplay systems (specifically, relying on cards to activate certain attacks, and a very different movement system which was co-opted into the new CH game), as well as its own cast. I suppose you could say it's similar to the US Wii Naruto Games, which are tweaked/updated versions of the Japanese games with different casts to match where the US release of the show was currently compared to Japan.

    I kind of wish I had picked up the Wii version of KRDK when it was around, despite not owning a Wii yet, considering how rare it is now. It was 30 bucks at launch I believe.

    My PSP copy of CHOOO should be arriving this week, I hope.

    "KRDK > previous CH games, thus KRDK > CH OOO"
    because its more like
    "CH OOO = enhanced version of KRDK, and KRDK = enhanced version for previous CH games"

    my PC spec is as such:
    -AMD athlon 64 3500+ 2.21ghz
    -1.00 GB of RAM
    -GeForce 7100 GS graphic card

    i'm using the same wii config in both builds

    1.SVN E 4728 & 4728M-turbo:customized old build,the turbo version forcibly boosts performance up to 200%(but it hardly shows,the normal 4728 is only abit slower even with 100% performance only),to make it start you actually need to get fixes and patches from some other builds that i forgot which exactly,using it standalone will make the dolphin crash IIRC

    2.SVN R 6536:latest build suggested by black shroud,its has no problem launching the game by itself,but the default setting is definitely not for a weak PC,you must change them a bit

    General config
    -enable dual core(activate this,doesnt matter if your CPU is something that is not a dual core)
    -enable idle skipping
    -skip GC bios
    -JIT recompiler(or the experimental one for the latest build,it doesnt matter as i tried both)
    -lock thread to core

    note:this means that anything else that doesnt mentioned in this are turned off

    Display:
    -enable progressive scan
    -set console as NTSC-J(dunno if this is a must or not,this IS a JP game,but the old build doesnt have this option)
    -use panic handlers

    Wii:
    -use eurGB60mode
    -aspect ratio 4:3(widescreen slows the game down quite a lot for some strange reason)

    Plugin:
    -graphics:Dolphin direct 3d9(openGL is a no no for me at least,it'll slow down to a crawl)
    -controllers:custom for my old build(needs a fix file that i forgot which,where and how to get),untouched for the latest one since it automatically works

    tried as i may,the new build just can't keep up with the custom dolphin,at least on a crappy non dual core PC like mine

    here are some screenshots from all three of them,all involves 2 points:normal fighting and finisher cutscenes,usually the game crawls down at these two points(its pointless to show menus and select screen,they run pefectly fine in all 3 without any lag)

    as you can see all 3 boasts nearly similar performance percentage wise,with normal 4728 scoring the lowest(always under 100%) and turbo scoring the highest(above 100% all the time) and the 6536 is somewhere in between

    but if you look closely again at the FPS rate you will see that the normal 4728 scores the highest and most stable FPS rate (able to get 20~24 even with a 70% performance) of the 3 with 6536 scoring the lowest (never reached 20)

    note that the normal 4728 shots are taken during REAL FIGHT footage which uses more resources while the other two builds are taken during TRAINING MODE which leaves less strain to the CPU since the enemy is doing nothing,also note that 10+FPS makes the game run at kabuto's slo mo speed while 20+ FPS makes the game look quite normal to the human eye

    that said,its completely possible for any of you with a standard PC to play this game,if you can't find a good dolphin then the latest one is still okay,i've played much worse emulated games and this one is actually fully playable with some minor annoyances here and there

    if it makes you feel any better,none of my builds can get scores this high when i played CHW or KRDK........so yeah,CHOOO is suprisingly light to emulate.

    there's no momentum when you stop running, you can't have people on opposite ends of the stage, and more.

    I'm under the impression that this is all new.

    well,its a bit late if you ask me,they should've done this 2 years ago with CH and by now they should've got vocal ones instead if you ask me,good thing is they already give the freedom of custom soundtrack for the PSP version and the fact that you can hack the wii ISO and replace the BGM files with your own music(you can't do that with the PS2 CH apparently since many had tried at that time)

    but yeah,all in all its quite okay,the house music version of FULL FORCE sounds a bit funny though..........

    some questions

    in several of the ragnarok stages i've encountered a tough purple crystals that takes a while to destroy,what that? does destroying it(or not) have any impact to that stage in particular?

    also,what does RP and our score do?i seem to get S rank now matter how sucky i am at the stages(i don't die,but sometimes i got to critical health and needed to use healing in the map)

    @shroud:can you give a menu translation for changing the diff for both normal modes and ragnarok?the game is getting a bit too easy on me>.<,and where does the battle settings go?(time,round,HP,lifebar,etc,like in CHW)i can't find it anywhere on the arcade and VS mode

    also,changing the round to 1 doesnt jinx our chances of getting CAX and the gallery stuff right?

    will look forward to your guide,just tried accel on the PSP version's arcade,he does have issues with his laggy moves,i spend most of my time on trial form due to accel form being too easy to interrupt by foes.......

    As far as Im concerned, Accel is a battery character to ward of opponent and charge gauge, while Trial is the real battle form. It also makes sense to form change back to Accel anytime you are about to eat big damage (because Trial's guard can be broken easily and its better to have Accel's high defence at such time). Trial can intercept opponent's attacks with teleport on reaction, and can spam 14-hitter rider cancel to guard break his opponent. He also has safe f+strong combo string.

    I still know no use for Accel Glanzer, if only to charge gauge afterwards again (since opponent collapses but you cant hit him after that, it gives you a breather)

    G3-X can combo grenade into grenade; grenade into hook; hook into machine gun or another backjump grenade if there's place to backjump to. Kinda makes up for his low stats.

    well,the glanzer makes its target crumple down REALLY SLOW,its pretty much a free juggle starter if it hits,that is if you mash the attack buttons fast enough,trial's teleport dash is quite uncomfortable to use especially in the enemy is down,90% of the time you ended up in front of the enemy instead of their back,kabuto's version is far more superior

    after playing a LOT of W i conclude that some special attacks are better left alone un-maximum drived,like the luna metal electro whip special,after the attack you can basically followup with everything while the MD enhanced version smacks enemy down for just a bit more damage disabling followup(but allows for wakeup traps),still talking about that,its a shame that they removed the long backstep part of the attack,it was the feature that makes luna metal awesome in CHW for mind games,of course the likes of heat trigger is better when MD is activated

    as for cyclone joker,is it me or cyclone maximum drive speeds up the rider gauge charge for a bit?

    correction about W's stance,just re played CHW and it seems that all the stance all the same,not new ones,but all i've said about all of them changing based on shotaro on CHOOO and phillip on CHW remains true(which is still more unique since you have 3 barehand stances,3 rod stances,and 3 guns stances,while in CHOO you basically only have 3 stances with different colors since stances now changes depending on what weapon you use,not the color)

    IXA:

    -save mode

    all broken fang are now basically the shockwave version,since all of them reaches fullscreen with a new gero-beam effect,it makes the dash broken fang and the standing broken fang pretty much identical in use now since both of them becomes "obvious projectile attacks" instead of a melee attack with a shockwave AFTER hitting and a melee attack with a long,invisible hitbox,again lazy programming i guess....

    -burst mode

    had lost the burst explosion henshin effect,they should've kept it IMO

    had lost all of garulu saber moves

    the IXAcalibur gun&sword combo now knocks down upon successful hit

    i'm just beginning ragnarok mode with OOO in the PSP version,hopefully soon since i'm still working on that custom soundtrack

    i just realized that they ditched decade's den O FFR,why in the world did they do that?

    finally unlocked garren and CAX for wii yesterday,garren's moveset has some interesting moves(like his trademark shootdodge that he used against peacock undead) which is good since i was worried that he will be like CH gatack which is just agito trinity with a different skin and used zolda/diend's moveset+ a different looking special,burning smash is a great diversion after all those diving kicks/attacks

    still can't unlock OOO fow W's ragnarok and vice versa,i've asked this in HJU but no elaboration about that either,finishing 2 stages with OOO doesnt unlock him for W'ragnarok and my W is already finished all ragnarok stages,yet he doesnt appear in my OOO's ragnarok mode....

    btw,you should also add the fact that the PSP version has less special effects than the wii graphic wise,for example the clock up effect is just the same with the old one(no rocks)

    plus in the sound/music differences,the PSP actually uses the 5 KRDK beat em up tracks for its beat em up stages while the wii one for some strange reason only uses "STAGE5" BGM from the fighting mode

    general notes:

    there are no more attacks that can hit grounded opponents so far,so OTG's are pretty much impossible in this game,and no mre ground resets like the one IXA used to have IIRC......

    hopper's notes:

    their rider jump~rider kick/punch are changed so that they attack immediately now,gaining much more horizontal range but is WAY vulnerable than the super high jump from their CHW counterpart(which works perfect as anti airs and anti rider kicks,only W's 2 parter joker extreme can hit them out of it,and that's because the rising tornado's duration is longer than their rider jump

    why they didnt make kick hopper's rider kick bouncy this time around?we'll never know......

    kuuga's notes:

    they took out gouram flight for pegasus,even when using summon groove,bummer

    kabuto's notes:

    he lost the downward kunai gun shot(the one that you can spam alot when using kabuto's special/dimension combo in CH,but its also one of his attack strings too IMO)

    his CH clock up specials are now given to hyper kabuto and dark kabuto instead,hyper gets the aerial teleport while dark gets the rider kick,he totally lost the kunai gun slash special though

    now that riders have green gauge it makes me wish they give kabuto a masked form even more than before,on rider form it can still access clock up just like hyper kabuto by pressing V+4,ditto with gatack and dark kabuto...(but then the blue gauge will only have the hoppers and faiz,which is depressing?)

    G3X notes:

    antares cannot pull enemies in ragnarok,it simply hit them for damage..........

    the cerberus shots sweeps 90 degrees towards the LEFT side instead of an equal cone shaped spread,so if you wanted to hit a group enemies in your front at ragnarok then make G3X turn right for a bit,for fighting mode using the left sidestep>right when facing a cerberus spammer

    the notes also applies to zeronos zero form's denebick buster i guess,since they are pretty much the same stuff
