Kevin Nash has the look and size

You know it would have been hilarious

    Cena would have been ok-ish

I mean nash could have just played the body double in shots

They will use camera tricks and post production to make him look big

Sure he might not be as large as thanos

    No.
Exactly. I rather have an actor who can act and meet the character half way then have a mass of muscle who can't act for shit.
Everyone forgets how much comic books will exaggerate body proportions.

To me Josh Brollin's Cable is every bit grizzled old war veteran, which is more true to the spirit of the comic than Kevin Nash can ever be.

lololol I never explicitly stated they were good movies, merely mentioned movies he was in.

Even terrible actors can be good if given roles that plays to their strengths. Look at Batista in Guardians. Batista as an actor is absolute shit but as Drax all that was required of him is to look intimidating, occasionally say a quirky line and the character is emotionally stilted so he didn't need to act.

    ^this.
it's also the director's job to basically guide the actors on how to be effective and serve the story rather than the imagery.
generally, it's the visuals that take a back seat to a really compelling narrative.

But cable has more dynamic range than Drax.

Till really recently Drax whole Modus operandi was Kill Thanos (comics) or kill Ronan (Films).
Drax is a emotionally stilted, revenged driven Beef Cake.

Cable is big but he isn't a beef cake. I be supervised if Film Cable don't say "War, War never changes".
Cable's thing was never being the Ox Drax Cable is the grizzled old war veteran from the future. Cable is this guy who been battling in war and a life threatening illness since he was a baby.
Cable isn't a bad ass because he is built like a brick shit house, Cable is a bad ass as He been though Hell and back and came out on top.

Except he actually worked his ass off to become a better actor in general, so taking that away from him to try and prove your point is pretty bullshit.

I still think he has a long way to go. I think he's being smart in only taking roles that he's capable of doing. He's doing better at this point in time than the Rock when he started making movies.

not sure if this has been posted elswhere here on GD, maybe the 2017 death thread perhaps:

The incident happened in Vancouver Convention Center.

I didn't know they were filming Deadpool 2 there. I was actually thinking about going there to grab some food today. Do stunt deaths happen? I rarely hear about them in the news. Hope the movie would put a moment of silence for the stuntswoman.

Well, they do happen, even if it's seldom. Every year I hear of at least 3 stunt folks dying on the set of some movie. There are probably more. It's sad.

I remember reading about another stunt person dying last month during the filming of The Walking Dead, so I assume they do happen every now and then

Ok so back in the day i read X-Men comics non-stop for about 4 years straight, when the 90's animated series made me a fan. Something i've never been clear on though is Cable's techno-organic virus, which nerfs his incredible power because he has to use 80% of it to keep the virus at bay.

My question is, what happens if the Virus overtook him completely? Would he really die? We see him still having the use of his infected "robo" arm, eye, and parts of his head just fine. So if he still retains the use of that, then wouldn't the virus just make him like a permanent-form Colossus? Living metal w/technology? He'd still be alive but just different?

Or would he really just drop dead?

He would really die. Yes. They had to work in some bullshit reason when he ran out of brain power to suppress the virus. During the Hope saga, for a moment, he was almost completely cybernatic and was lying there dying, but then the next issue had him getting one little spark back, then he worked his mind until he could suppress it again. It was pretty bullshit.

It was during the cat and mouse with Bishop in the future when Cable went full cyber to fight him. Hope did later cure him after the whole Phoenix 5 thing.
