    @jmanDMC

Is there anything you can publicly share about adding Myoungshin Fanta's to fadc? With fadc becoming so K stick friendly, I couldn't help but ask. My last order from etokki was.. let's just say, for posterity, was 'lost in the mail'. So I'm out whatever it was that costed, on top of no replacement myoungshin for my stick. I, as well as I'm sure many many others, would love to see Myoungshin Fantas populate the homepage of fadc. :)

As of now I'm afraid I can't get this model. Not for lack of trying - when I first inquired with my supplier about Korean joysticks, I asked about getting Myoungshin because of the known demand. Despite their connections in the country, it was hard finding a reliable source for them.

The Fanta kit is the closest I'll get to offering a Fanta in the near future.

I think Akishop carries them now.

@jmanDMC Yo, I just want to make sure: If I order the Seimitsu LS-56 fasten type joystick with VF plate, does it come with the black ball top, black shaft cover, and black dust washer? Also, would the 60A Shore Rubber Grommet for Crown 303-FK be compatible with the Crown 307?

    Thanks in advanced!

    @Laban,

Yes, the LS-56 comes with black balltop, shaft cover and dustwasher. The 60A Shore Rubber Grommet grommet is compatible with the 307.

So the clone of Bootsector's open hardware design is back for sale: http://www.focusattack.com/fa-slg3-vga-scanline-generator/

What ever happened to showing what is possible by your team?
    jmanDMC wrote: »
    All,
Over the course of the FA.SLG3 announcement, the project was met with questions and criticism about its name, its construction, ethics of its existence, and my intentions or ability to introduce hardware solutions. For the time being, this SLG in its current form has been pulled from the store.
In its place, I will introduce a video scanline solution that will have enough technical and cosmetic differences to show what is possible by our team.

Is a clone of an open hardware designs the best you can do?

Hi @sharpfork - I recognize the sentiment you're bringing to the forum. I did bring back the SLG3 to the store, as these are perfectly good hardware. There are less than 25 units remaining, and after that, none are left. These are the same units from last year.

    Thanks.

Would you consider selling Individual replacement Omron micro switches? You have the MS-0-2's levered version. I realize I could buy the MS-0-2's and remove the levers myself. I'd love to wait a little longer if you were to eventually carry the lever less version (not sure of the specific id of it) Thanks

As I see it now, you are possibly asking for the MS-0-3R. I know that Akishop has it listed on their website:

    https://www.akishop.jp/joystick-parts/114-ms-o-3r.html##

I can likely get it as a custom order in the next restock.

With the upcoming redesign, I'm doing some things that will make it more convenient to get less common items like this.

I just ordered the white Torii arcade stick yesterday. I was originally thinking of getting a Fighting Edge, but I've always wanted a metal stick and the Torii looks like a damn good design.

That being said, it really wouldn't hurt for you to have some pictures of the interior, a video showcasing its input lag, etc. I will be providing all of that once it's shipped to me, so if you'd like to use that to display on the page for it you're more than free to do so.

Hey, any news on the Omron D2RV-G-SD2 microswitches?
  • jmanDMCjmanDMC Focusattack.com Joined: Posts: 2,535
    Hi @Tensho,

The D2RV-G-SD2 switches are a variation of the D2RV-G switches, used in the Sanwa JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK Silent Microswitch Joystick. I hadn't asked my supplier about that specific model. When I originally asked about the D2RV-G model, Sanwa wasn't offering replacement units. They're doing the same for the D2RV-G-SD2. I have to ask about the MOQ, and whether Omron will sell them to us.

The D2RVG-SD2 is supposed to have quieter operation than the previous model. The actuator of the JLF-TPRG-8AYT-SK is also designed around the switch, as was done with the original silent JLF.

I learned a few weeks ago that Sanwa has stopped manufacturing translucent balltops. It didn't make sense to me until my supplier mentioned that Sanwa is making parts for the arcade industry first. They aren't specifically catering to our market, though they will occasionally release personalization products if there is enough demand in the industry. It appears there isn't enough to keep that going. I'm getting what's left of my supplier's available inventory - 3 translucent red balltops.

I'm afraid no sale on the 4th, but that doesn't mean FA won't have a sale in July. I will have details next week, and I think you'll like it.

I don't have the LS-32 listed, but I think there is one in the office. Can you send a message to Jenni at jenni@focusattack.com and ask her? She can invoice you for the unit. Once we have special order products on the site, you can order one directly.

    Hi all,

Thought I'd post this quick. A day ago, the suggestion came to create a SRK forum version of "FightStick Artist Network" (F.A.N for short). If you're looking for a someone to design Fightstick artwork, but don't know their pricing (or if they work for free), their terms and turnaround, that is the goal of the thread.

It was also suggested that I keep my posts about such things in my own thread. Fair enough, so I'd like to share the link with you.

    http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/197873/fightstick-artist-network-no-image-quoting-please#latest

If you, or you know a friend that does fightstick artwork, or any art design, please tell him/her about the list. It's simple - just add a comment with information about you, your terms, and visual refs to artwork. In the thread, I created a quick guide to get started.

It could be a great resource for those not sure if an artist in the Official Arcade Artwork thread is available for work, preview samples of artwork they've done, and know what to expect from them.

Though I hope the SRK forums get some activity, if it doesn't, a list is already started here:

    http://support.focusattack.com/entries/82877175-Fightstick-Artist-List

Hope you'll check either out if you would like some help creating your next Fightstick Art. Thanks!

PS: Wanted to add a photo of a great example artwork, courtesy of V4Charlie:

Look I didn't agree with the post in the stick art thread. Maybe it's just because you don't know the customs of the forums, but it really wasn't appropriate. I'm honestly being positive about the art idea. I think it's a good one, but I also don't like the idea of driving people away from the forums. The whole reason we had the "forums" code for free shipping was to encourage people to get involved with the communities. I have no dog in this fight, no art, we have a laser and work closely with others who do but it's not my thing right now. We have been doing custom laser cutting for 2 years, but so far we haven't made a big public push.

You have some decisions to make about how to move forward. You can keep taking this adversarial approach but its not going to serve you very well and it has not so far. There's a lot of things changing over the next few years. PAS is not going anywhere, that I can promise you. Well it's going somewhere, but that somewhere is a lot of growth and collaborations.

Vicko is his own entity. Not a PAS guy, so please don't lump him in with us anymore than I put the people who bad mouth us into your camp. I have appealed to some of the guys who work with you to help settle things down, but I do not publicly throw people into your camp and hold you responsible for what they say, even the ones who are actually on your pay roll. I would appreciate the same courtesy.

We will have one employee back in MN, and I have started to introduce him in our thread, but I can guarantee he will not be engaging in flame wars as he will work for me and represent us.

I will expect the comment in the artist network thread to be changed, so as not to imply Vicko is part of PAS. My post was not at all pointed, I think creating that thread is a good thing and I was simply encouraging you to do something that I think would be good for the community.

Please do not contact me again privately. I understand what is being done, and why. Good luck to you and your business. That's all I'll say further.

As per your request not to contact you privately. So will ask again as you did not say the comment would be changed, nor was it changed as of the time this was posted. Would you mind not implying that Vicko or any others speak for PAS. PAS is Susan and myself. There are others who support and like the store, just as there are others who support and like your store. However, I deal with those people as individuals, not as FA spokes people. As I requested, please afford me the same courtesy and respect.

There's been clashes, with people being labeled on teams of "PAS vs FA".
I'd be listed on team PAS, because they're a sponsor of mine, but yet I have never once spoken up publicly about things due to wanting to stay professional.
Obviously this is out of hand and I can no longer hold my tongue.

Jaleel, you are pissing everyone off.

Think about who this community contains on any type of creative PCB maker, case maker, parts maker, retail company or consistant modding scale:
Paradise Arcade Shop, Jasen's Customs, Art's Hobbies, PhreakMods, Toodles, Foe Hammer, Gummo, Vicko, Undamned, Butteroj, Arcade Shock and whomever else i'm forgetting.
Now think about how many of those you have pissed off, or how many of those actually respect you. How many of those people just deal with you because you provide income but don't even like you.

I'm not just trying to be a dick here, I'm trying to make a big point.
You're out of touch. Stop stepping on toes and pissing people off.

I realize being liked isn't something required to run a business, and you're bound to have a few haters if you're successful, but your regard given for any type of business in this community is one of no fucks.
It's pretty obvious. Everyone sees it. Only a few voice it. Just like only a few with voice their displeasure with this post.

Sorry but the promotion of the relaunch of FA Plexiworks specifically mentioning specifically "like Art's Hobbies" or "like Tek Innovations" or whatever was said was the straw that broke the camels back.
Art Hong has been doing plexi for this community since 2009 and has shown consistent support of the community.

Stepping on toes isn't smart. Who is next? Who is left?

I admit, the post in the stick-art thread was tone deaf and ultimately removed (as it should have been). But using "community" as reasoning for stifling competition is an improper use of the term.

Nobody is taking Art's laser away, anyone wanting to buy from him can continue to do so. And I would hope anyone looking for artwork commissions would see the value in what Jaleel is trying to do here, as this is sure to bring them more business (provided that their work and service is good, of course). Actually making money doing something you enjoy should be preferable to feeling like a member of the "in crowd" while being broke, and Jaleel's constant push for top notch customer service and expansion/growth leads to more people getting paid, regardless of hippie sentimentality.
