Any chance you have an ETA on restocking the Link Quick Release JLF Shaft?

@Phreakazoid shipped a restock, which is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. If you subscribe to restock notification, you'll get an email shortly after Jenni adds them back into stock.

A heads up for others: Just got a restock of Imps and MCCs from @Toodles today. Shipment came out of the blue. Admittedly he is a tough guy to get hold of.

    Just a quick heads up:

Seimitsu LS-38 series is also in stock: http://bit.ly/fa-seimitsu-ls38. As mentioned prior, Arcade Shock has the LS-38-01-SC exclusively, otherwise I'd also have that.

Main restock of Sanwa & Seimitsu parts are shipping soon. Unfortunately, my supplier says that Sanwa is not producing the OBSC LB-35 balltops any longer. That is why I removed them from the store when sold out. Whether that will expand to the OBSC buttons I'm not sure. If it comes back, of course I'd restock it.

Some more good products and services is coming in a few weeks.

This is just subjective, but it feels like a 2.5lb JLF spring. It feels crisp; definitely not too extreme to hinder your gameplay, but certainly has more tension than the LS-56.

So, it seems there are not a lot of options when it comes to solid color sanwa shaft covers. I just want to find a solid white shaft cover and maybe a dust cover to put on my hayabusa for a future project. I know they exist somewhere, they come standard on eightarc fusion ivory cases. Is there a possibility that focusattack could contact qanba about these shaft covers, and other colors if possible? I tried searching their website, but it's pretty cluttered, and hard to navigate.

Get Seimitsu shaft covers. They just need a small mod to work on JLF.

I'm fine with Qancer's original post. Indeed you can find white Qanba dustwasher's at Arcade Shock.

I used to carry them when I could get them from Qanba. Unfortunately I don't have access to them at this time. I've been looking into alternatives.

My latest restock PO was sent to the supplier last week, and payment going out this week once they prepare it. The Japanese Obon holiday slowed down turnaround part of August. Usually I restock first week of August, but Sanwa and Seimitsu were closed for 1 week. My supplier couldn't get what was needed until they reopened. In any case, looking at two weeks total for the restock to arrive.

I have the eurostick in my MVS cab. It's quite nimble, actually. There might be some exaggeration in the previous post, it's stiffer than the LS-56, but Seimitsu did not design it to that extreme, such as a 4 or 6lb. My own tests show it can move pretty easily. It feels just over a 2lb spring.

Seimitsu's original prototype - that was incredibly stiff to the point it was unplayable. :pensive: I was glad they scaled it back.

I measured the spring to 3.75 lbs. There is a standard method for measuring this, but please keep in mind that this does not take into account the variations in joysticks. So a 3.75lb spring in a Seimitsu does not perfectly correlate with a 3.75lb spring in a Sanwa.

Okay - thanks, Bryan. On that, to @BetaWolf that asked, I'll restate that the Seimitsu LS-38 feels firm but not overly stiff. If we support the notion that Sanwa and Seimitsu joysticks have variations that can affect one's preferences, I say you can give it a try yourself, and return it should you feel it doesn't jibe with your playstyle.

I wasn't exaggerating. I never said it was extreme. I said it's the stiffest stock spring tension joystick on the market.

Actual tension measurements are of value when you're talking different springs in the same stick, not so much with the same spring weight between different lever designs. A prime example being the difference in feel between a 2 lb jlf spring and a 2 lb ls-56 spring- they're nothing alike.

I agree that the best approach is to try these things for one's self.

    Hi all,

When the redesigned site opened, I got a good amount of feedback regarding the navigation - primarily that it was hard to find well-known products, and that the older version was more intuitive. My original goal was to allow for expansion of products across different genres by the product's attributes, such as joysticks that use switches with .187" male terminals instead of switches soldered to a PCB, or buttons that feature a concave plunger instead of convex. This was to allow customers that aren't aware of a specific brand to find a product based on characteristics they're familiar with. That said, feedback and survey data was strong enough to consider a revision that offered both.

Many of the main categories now have "Popular Brands" section, which carries the original navigation elements from the old site (Brand > Model > Parts/Accessories. The hope is that customers who are more familiar with brand can not only find the main components related to that brand, but any spare parts and accessories specific to it. For example, you'll now find accessories and spare parts for the LS-40 under Popular Brands > Seimitsu > LS-40. Navigation based on attributes is still available if desired. In addition, I broke out "Controls" into "joysticks" and "pushbuttons".

I learned a lot from the feedback, and I think the site benefits from it. There are a number of revisions I'm working on to improve the experience over time on both mobile and desktop. One quick example is how the category dropdown works. I've asked the developer for a way to mimic the click-to-expand method as is shown on mobile.

For those who don't care for the video clips, I designed so that it can be turned off - a feature available since launch. Check out this updated FAQ entry for details.

    http://www.focusattack.com/faqs#website-background

In any case, I'd like your constructive feedback on this and other elements here, by PM or feedback@focusattack.com. Any of it helps.

    Thanks!

This was kind of a presentation decision on my part. Some of the product names would end up on two or three lines. This wasn't consistent across the listings, which distracted from the unified presentation I was going for. I may try for 2 lines with a smaller font and ellipses further towards the end of the product name, where some info isn't as critical.

I will offer the materials to build them, but afraid the pre-designed ones aren't coming back in their original form right away.

You can purchase them at Foe Hammer Custom Joysticks.

Can you tell me the diameter(s) of the wire sleeves and the heatshrink? Or are you saying you will be selling the materials to build them.

I will eventually sell the mesh and heatshrink materials by the foot and inch respectively so customers can buy what they want. If you're looking for it in the meantime, you'll want Flexo PET - 1/4" for wire sleeves and Shrinkflex Polyolefin Heatshrink Tubing - 2:1 - 3/8", or similar.

    A heads up to everyone.

I just received a bit of an update from my supplier regarding my restock shipment. Right now the cause of the hold up is Sanwa. Here is an excerpt:
As per the shipping, I do not have good news Jaleel, Sanwa is giving us a lot of trouble and they told us that they start to send orders on 3rd September. This is completely beyond our power Jaleel, we place orders on 18th and 19th and they just came back telling us about September. At this stage I suggest we send you the Seimitsu items asap along with all the stock we have of Sanwa.

In addition, and to make things worse, a new holidays period is coming (Silver Week) and Sanwa taking last order on 11th September and remain close from 15th to 23rd September.

After EVO and our last ATOW sale, I was faced with some tough choices. Restock inventory had just arrived for that weekend, and my supplier warned me that the Japan Obon holiday would start in early August - from the 8th to the 16th. With restock inventory just arriving, it wasn't possible to order yet again in a week because funds weren't immediately earned from the last inventory purchase. Japan does have a number of holidays in which businesses close: New Year, Golden Week, and Obon are the longest holiday periods. The trouble with Obon is that the date changes every year, as with Golden Week. You try to work around them, or in our case, the timing forced us to wait until the Obon holiday was over. This meant waiting until the 18th. The supplier placed an order with Sanwa shortly after that, and only recently got the news from Sanwa about delaying their shipment until early September.

Jenni at FA tries to run a tight ship. She creates monthly reports of sales for every item sold and creates a monthly average. This allows us to order based on that average. Delays or a week or so skew the average, and Jenni factors that into an "overflow" restock quantity. However, unexpected delays of several weeks can't be easily factored in.

I'm sharing a lot of info to explain why we're low on a lot of inventory right now. It's important is that I communicate some of this to you now, because we may or may not see more delays from Sanwa in the future.

As of now, the Sanwa OBSC clear and translucent balltops are not coming back anytime soon. Not yet sure what is happening to the clear battop; I can still order that.

In any case, I'll keep you updated when the Sanwa restock shipment finally arrives. In the meantime, I've green-lit the remainder of the restock shipment, so I can hopefully get that by end of week, or early next week.

@triple_lei I got in touch with the developer. He suggested an approach that would display the full title directly as your mouse hovers over the product. Right now, the tool-tip takes a second or two to display that. This update would be instantaneous, and would display the full title as it appears below the photo instead of a tool-tip.

Another complaint that I got about the menu is that when moving the mouse cursor diagonally down and right to access the submenus, the desired menu would disappear. The when moving diagonally down, the cursor would activate the next menu item, and subsequently, the next submenu. Testing hadn't noticed this because we would simply move the cursor horizontally across the main menu to the sub menu. My developer has a few suggestions to improve that. For now I'm implementing a delay that will wait for the cursor to arrive at the desired submenu. If feedback shows that this doesn't work, we'll try a more detailed approach that predicts where the cursor is traveling and keeps the submenu open.

Finally the mobile version tends to snap scrolling back to the top of the screen when the menu finishes loading. My dev is investigating why this may happen.

    Again, thanks for the feedback!

    Hi gang,

Another quick update. My supplier is shipping part of the restock shipment order Saturday, which will contain Seimitsu and whatever they have on hand for Sanwa. Everything else will ship the following week once Sanwa resumes sending orders.

Some better news: I got the packing order for what the supplier has shipped today. They looked through much of the inventory they had on the floor, and was able to include a good number of Sanwa items; you'll see many items restocked in the coming days. I have some collectibles for pre-order on Monday as well, plus a chance to win one of each. Will have details on Sunday.

Can't wait for the restock. I have too much crap to order yet half of them is out of stock. Even with that keep up the good work! The KOWAL Japan S Plate Converter is genus. Will make it easy to swap out a stick with a LS-32-01 in it and put in a LS-56.

Can't wait for the restock. I have too much crap to order yet half of them is out of stock. Even with that keep up the good work! The KOWAL Japan S Plate Converter is genus. Will make it easy to swap out a stick with a LS-32-01 in it and put in a LS-56.

Thanks for understanding. A bad set of circumstances led to the unusually long delay in restocking. I try to restock every month on a regular schedule.

Don't worry I know you restock when possible. Actually I have a product question so I'm going to PM you on here.

    Hi all,

Some quick updates. The restock shipment is finally on its way, and tracking shows it arriving on Friday, Sept 4. Thanks to those that subscribe to the restock notifications feature recently added to the redesigned site. You will get an email soon after the product you were looking for is added. Not everything made it over, but most did; the rest will ship the following week.

UPDATE #2: The restock shipment has already cleared customs. It may arrive sooner than Friday.

Meantime, my supplier offered a quantity of the Limited Edition Sanwa Berry Wood balltops and battops. I have them for pre-order, ready to ship on or before Friday. I know they also exist on Arcade Shock - you basically have another place to buy them in the US.

I hope you might help me spread the word by entering to win your own Berry Wood balltop + $100 in FA.R Rewards. Details are available here, depending on which social network you frequent:

Giveaway ends Saturday, September 5 at 8pm.

Again, for those who chose to wait, thanks for being so patient. I'm working on revamping the store newsletter for more frequent updates as it will tie into the store blog, plus more frequent coupon codes and FA.Rewards events that I'll mention there. Some other good things are coming as well, including the artwork printing and plexi service, thanks to finally getting the upgraded 8-ink printer and seeing much improved output. Kowal is also helping me turn out some new joystick solutions that I think you'll find worthwhile.

Even with low stock, I appreciate many of you keeping FA going every day with purchases, questions for support, and good feedback. Many things going on behind the scenes that in time, I'm hoping to reveal.
