MFC (Mirage Feint Cancel) Combos
MFC is Cancelling Pokes with Mirage Feint Cancels to get massive frame advantage and do combos not possible otherwise.
this is done by Holding down S when doing a Mirage Fient, this will automatically cancel the Mirage Feint ala Viper's FFF. so for example if you do s.H xx L Mirage Feint while holding S, you'll get an MFC'd s.H, which is the main poke you're gonna use MFCs for. This can also be done by doing s.H xx 214L~S, it needs proper timing if done that way.
MFC cancels are something essential to x-23's game and you'll have to learn sooner or later if you wanna use her competitively
MFC'ing a light/medium/heavy attack will leave you at +2/+6/+11 respectively so not only it is useful in combos but its very helpful in pressure and frametrapping (eg: making your opponent mistime their pushblock and getting a poke instead giving you a CH combo)

DHC glitch Combos:
This is a glitch that occurs when you DHC from a cinematic Hyper (Weapon X Prime with x-23) into a Hyper that doesnt hit directly (like Wesker's Counter and Hsien-Ko's Dark Force) into a combo.
What this does is that if done properly it resets the damage and the hitstun which means you can do Touch of Death combos with the proper setups/characters for 2 meters!~ just keep praying that they dont patch this out.

    This Section will have good Teams/partners that go with x-23 to help her become the deadly beast she is. Right there isnt any Solidified x-23 "teams", however whenever any in-depth information about any team/duos that work well for x-23 i'll add it to this section:
    • x-23 (Ankler Slicer)/Wesker (Low Shot)/Akuma (tatsu)
      BurnSilver made an excellent thread with alot of good combos using the Team x-23/Wesker/Akuma. He goes over using the assists, combos into/from them, DHC options and lots of other stuff. Very good read if you have any of those characters in your x-23 Team.

    I'd prefer short hop loop over feint loop but that's just me .. she can do different stuff with feints that doesn't look anything like the hop stuff

    I knew I wanted X-23 to be my point the moment I saw her revealed. Been in training mode with her for hours trying to find some combos that do the most damage.

    There seems to be many ways to combo with her hop I based mine off the one from mission mode a little. Also she can probably do all her combos midscreen.

    Command grab fuck yo ankles

    Excuse my screwed up move descriptions...I'm accustomed to jab/strong/fierce/short/forward/roundhouse annotations...not what's used in this game.

    Something dumb but interesting:

    :qcf:+ C (command grab), Ankle Slicer HOLD to max hits (non charged and neck will not hit)

    Double dumb but double interesting:

    :qcf:+ C (command grab), Snap Back (OMG LOL!)

    Triple dumb but triple interesting:

    Beam assist style...have to try it with others but so far works with Iron Man:

    :qcf:+ C (command grab), assist qcf, Ankle Slicer HOLD (gotta be quick between assist and Ankle Slicer, but it's mad easy)

    May need to test that on all characters. It pushes the character back to a neutral stand state, so you gotta have a gameplan in a real match. Otherwise, neat-o...it works. :)

    Quadruple dumb but quadruple interesting if you can get it to connect:

    I've accidentally had light and medium attack connect after Beam assist + ankle slicer connect. I'm not sure what is up with that. Need to test it. Likely a wide body thang.

    Experiment, experiment, experiment discuss.

    Edit: Sorry if this is hella known...but I thought it was worth mentioning btw. :P Fun ass character.

    Edit #2: Post command grab has weird properties. I can't sneak in any normals no matter how hard I try and I can't land any hyper combos, yet these three things connect. Hrmmmm?

    Hrm. The command grab tends to put me too far away against the default training characters (CapA/Dr. Doom/Skrull). Have to mess with it some more. Maybe my timing is off. :P

    More little fun screwing around tidbits. Using the command grab, beam assist + ankle slash set up I mention above, using Thor's shock assist will pop the character up (where Iron Man's beam assist brings the character's body downward). Trying so hard to make that turn into something...lol (tossing air feints like crazy...trying to get hard launch and special launch to connect...mashing everything...)! :) Also got Hyper to connect with that set up. Fun.

    Some general comments after watching the MvC 3 stream...
    I know it's a new game and all, but so far when I watch, a lot of the x 23 players are fixated on a specific combo that's started off with a low kick that ends with super. But this seems to hamper her effectiveness, because she can't really follow up after a super into any sort of reset or pressure. What this means is that I see a lot of players land a hit, do a combo, combo into super, then the other player just safe tags out via dhc, etc etc.

    Like Mags, X 23 should have plenty of ways to provide pressure and resets, but I haven't seen a lot of combos or setups that give positional advantage...which is something that made top mag/storm players in mvc2 effective.

    Considering that her landing a hit doesn't generally kill whatever she's fighting, it might make more sense to have a general, easy to do universal combo whose ender(s) puts her back into a position to follow up, reset, or pressure the opponent. The 2nd time she lands a hit, then she can combo into super -> dhc and kill the character.

    Lastly, on the stream I've seen mostly ineffective attacks in the air. She seems to have good air mobility and priority, but generally I've seen a couple of ineffective hits into nothing in the air. I think for her to be effective, good air control and damage will be needed to make her effective.

    I don't know if you can combo into snaps, but I have yet to see people snap anyone out.

    Lastly, combo misses...it happens in every game, more so when the game is new. The mags players back in the day turned their misses into opportunities. Seems like when I watch the stream, the messed up part of the combos always seems to happen in the air, after launch as she jumps up, or missing the next hit after she does her "try this!" air dragon kick. What I see is that she'll miss, lose initiative, and often get hit as a result of whiffing.

    I think with the way the engine works, this'll be a natural part of the game. However, since the misses always seem to happen in the same places, that might be a good place to find fixes..be it recognizing the combo will miss and making it end quicker, going for a reset/command grab instead of the standard move, etc. Just like with mags, I see adjustments in the middle of combos a big part of making her more effective.

    I don't think standard precanned combos with her will really serve her all that well. Dante she is not.

    You can do ABC then mash on wavedash to set up a very ambiguous reset. The only char this doesn't work against is MODOK.

    You can do ABC then mash on wavedash to set up a very ambiguous reset. The only char this doesn't work against is MODOK.

    Just experimented with this and if you do dirtnap after the ABC then wavedash twice, you can catch most characters no matter where they tech. If they try to do an air super or special you'll be safe to block and can punish them afterward. This could potential be her biggest mind fuck against people since they'll have no idea where she'll come from by doing it that way.

    Seeing a few things about dirt nap and wave dashing.When in dirt nap, if you wave dash you still kicks up dust. So its not a perfect method to get close, might need a ranged assist to use it at Maximum effectiveness.

    Another thing ive noticed, she's all over the place after her command grab. Sometimes I can do lmh, others I'm so far away m, maybe even whiffs. But, if your fast, you can usually dash lmh e, etc,etc. Its odd though, sometimes she'll cross under as well.

    I back this up, been screwing around in training trying to find resets/set ups especially involving the command throw and it just seems so tough to land anything consistently after the throw ends.

    You're probably doing it too fast, when I first tried it I did the same thing.
    Just slow down a little. Let me know if that helped

    First of all I've got great news about her Weapon X Prime hyper. It's totally invincible after start up! Not even invincible level 3 hypers can touch you after the close up animation. She runs strait through Ryu's laser hyper, Storm's Ice storm (you'll always have time to react to this and hit her; so you've nothing to fear from Storm, even if she DHC's into someone else you'll always have priorioty), Magneto's gravity screen, and at worst she passes through anyone doing a hyper that also has invincibility (she owns Dante's level 3 no matter what). Of course it has a slow start up, but once it does, you can't be harmed (unless someone's blocking and waiting to punish afterward).

    This does 390.300 to 398.300 damage and 21 to 23 hits depending on how careful your execution is. It took me three hours to be able to pull it off just right consistantly because there are so many timing tricks. I call it my CLONED MASTERPIECE COMBO (so corny) because it's a variation of her mission 10 combo. It builds over one meter; so it's perfect for doing high damage while saving and earning meter.

    gah I gotta learn some of these combos! I'm tired of feeling like a masher with x-23.

    I've been trying to get that L, M, H, QCB HP, M, S down but I always mess up around QCB HP to M part, it won't connect often for me. It would be hella sweet if I can get that down and have it work on some somebody :p

    Those combos do less damage than

    L[MH, qcb.H, j.MH, qcf.L, land]x2, MHS, sj.MMH, d.H, qcf.L, land, qcf.M which does 438,600. It does 578,600 if you do the super afterwards.

    What's some of the ways people have been punishing with X-23? Besides doing a quick faint while being covered by an assist I have been having a real hard time punishing and moving in after some blocked combos.
    Always filled with a buttery good taste till the last bite.

    Yeah. The M in that feint loop is the trickier thing to time. You can't really mash any of it out, but a lot more speed than other character's combos is involved.

    More dumb command grab assist fun facts: OTG Wesker low assist, you can connect all three hyper combos. Including dirt nap (activate, dash). Stylish.

    I've tried it a hundred time with S, but I can't land it so I just do the combo using H. It's now my strongest meterless one, so thanks!

    You guys can try ending an air combo with the uppercut kick. You'll land way faster than the other guy so you can dash to the other side as a mixup. I haven't played online yet so this is just an idea. Should work though.

    hmm, well i just notated what the vid showed.. guess its an H not an S.
    a tip: dont go online, this game has such a shitty netcode, only thing close to this is Tekken 6, I might go as far as saying its as bad as KoFXII... you wont be able to even land LMH without lag kicking in.
