Well regardless of name issues, both sides basically got an "exclusive" character.

As for the bot itself, i dunno about you but i rarely did the extendable waist thing for more height when in "rodimus" mode. I felt the figure had nice height as is, and that little extension kinda made it look disproportionately taller and funny looking.

Also is it just me, or does the figure look a lot cooler in pictures? For some reason in person he looks a bit lanky & thin. Plus while the figure was designed pretty well, it seemed like it had juuuust enough flaws in its articulation to prevent it from taking some of the cooler poses around.

Anyway, design of this figure was nice. I thought it was impressive how the robot mode looked so toon-character accurate with little to no kibble, like an action master. Yet could somehow perfectly form such a sweet vehicle mode.

Yeah, I never pit him in "Rodimus" mode. If I do, I just do the head and the shoulders. I agree, it looks a little off IMO.

The design does look better in certain angles. To be honest, despite its flaws, it is still one of the best MP figures around. If I had to rank the designs

    MP Grimlock
    MP Convoy Redux
    MP Hot Rod/ Rodimus
MP Seeker Asst. (I am not counting MP-11)
    MP Convoy/ Optimus Prime
    MP Megatron

Never got MP megs though i wanted one. What was so bad about him that he is at the bottom?

Edit: The lower body looked a little funny though. And design-wise, its like they started out trying to make him look cartoon accurate, but then changed their minds halfway through and went with the G1 toy. Like a homage or something.

In several ways its like the G1 toy design on steroids, and not a cartoon character accurate Masterpiece figure like we'd have expected.

Still looks good though but could have been designed nicer looking.

By no means does being at the bottom mean he sucks. It's just that his proportions (especially in the lower legs) are off. G1 toy on steroids is a pretty accurate way to describe him.

Sideswipe can be one of the best MP figures ever released if they keep it maintain the figure's simplicity when translating it into a MP figure. I just wonder if they will use Hot Rod's chest collapse transformation aesthetic for that mold.

I will be honest with you guys, Transformers Prime is slowly becoming one of my favorite series. If BB wasn't a mute and Prime didn't sound so "heroic" I'd be able to live with it a little better.

For those of you that have Netflix, the first season is now available.

I'm with you on that one. I actually find myself looking forward to it now. My favorite character is KnockOut, followed by Starscream and then Ratchet, but the rest of the characters have grown on me as well.

Knockout - The Ambiguously Gay Decepticon. His sexuality may be more than meets the eye!

Regarding the some of the cast, I think Frank Welker should have done this version of Megatron for the movie audition. This would have sold it. I do enjoy how despite them being mortal enemies, Megatron has respect for Optimus Prime. This incarnation comes second to BW Megatron simply because he has no real plan.

Peter Cullen sounds very boring. It's toooooooo heroic. Optimus needs to have more of a range of emotion. The ep further back with Orion Pax shows that he can do it as he actually doesn't sound so monotone. Emotion was conveyed in his lines. I hope the voice director lets Cullen get loose.

I am loving this show's Arcee. So far from the girl we once knew in G1. She has emotional depth, fights for a reason, talks the talk, and walks the walk. On the Autobot side, she's my favorite.

    to both questions ...also
a headmaster leading Mech in the near future

While an enjoyable epi, I was hoping to see dark energon involved in the nemesis parts... perhaps for a "Shattered Glass" or "IDW Nova Prime" feel...
    still a good epi though

That's pretty much my thought. Integrate the old school into the new school together. I did think it was cool that "Nemesis" Prime was colored like Shattered Glass Prime. The next ep seems like I it will be a clip show

Orian Pax? What episode was this? I'm kinda out of the loop on Prime, but usually enjoy it when i do watch an episode. And yeah, cullen kinda hams it up a bit much. Often the deep, dramatic, and booming prime voice is a bit uncalled for. Its great.... but when the situation calls for it, and thats often not the case.

Kid: "Yo i just bought some lucky charms. Was kinda torn between the fruit loops though".

Prime: "Take heart, we find often ourselves faced with....difficult choices....".

Kid: "Umm its not that seriou...."

    *prime interrupts*

Prime: "Confident though your decision may be, the choices we make today echo for all time.

Kid: "Really its not that big of a deal."

Prime: "Though it may have seemed trivial, you made a choice. One i hope you won't come to regret"

*Prime looks at the stars profoundly*

Kid: "yeah i'm going in the other room".

You sure you aren't ghost writing LOLZ. I could see this being the case with this series.

Optimus Prime lost his memory at the end of season 1 and was temporarily Orion Pax. He had lines that made him seem like he wasn't the hero. Being nervous, inquisitive, and at times frustrated were all there.

All I care about is the "Original 13"! The other 85 are a bonus. Is it in "HD"? I know Transformers Prime Season 1 is up and in HD w/ 5.1

Technically,It is HD according to Netflix, but imo the picture is basically the recent shout factory dvd slightly improved.

Yeah I saw the first couple episodes of Prime online when the show first started but tuned out since I didn't have the Hub. Started it up again on netflix and I like it a lot. Kinda wish Peter Cullen would talk normally when he voices Prime instead of going for the uber-serious voice like in the movies. But thats a minor nitpick. On episode 8 or 9 currently and so far I think Bumblebee has done absolutely nothing, even less useful than in G1. Bulkhead, Arcee, and Ratchet all have kid sidekicks aka "plot fuel", so Bumblebee just doesn't have much to do. Again, minor nitpick. But when the cast is as small as it is they could give him more attention. These are just my thoughts at the moment, he might be a totally awesome badass later on....but I doubt it.

I think you might be mistaken, bumblebee has the kid sidekick not ratchet, but I do agree he doesn't get up to too much in the first season. I think they focused more on arcee, bulkhead and ratchet in terms of development over the course of the first season, understandable considering bee and prime usually get all the shine but I hope down the line in season 2 they will give prime some development. I do love ratchet though, ironhide was always my favorite autobot back in the day and they transferred some of his crankiness to ratchet, dude is too damn funny. There's an episode down the line called "harder, faster, stronger"(or something of the sort) he has some real funny lines during that episode.

My only gripe with the show are the kids, particularly miko, shes so goddamn annoying I don't even know where to start. Thankfully shes pretty much a background character so far in season 2 so maybe the writers noticed the negative reception she got and decided to reduce her inclusion.

I assumed Ratchet was the partner for the nerd kid. Miko has Bulkhead, and Jack has Arcee.

Just got finished watching SOS Dinobots from my Phone. GODLIKE!!!! I skipped out on buying the DVDs. I did have the entire set at one time, but it was the Rhino editions. Due to the animation errors in the masters and the added sound effects, I just could not take it anymore. I bought the Shout S1 Set the minute it was available, and have been debating about the others. If I catch a good deal, great, but if not, I have the episodes I really want on disc. I am not "missing" much with the exception of a few gems in S2.

I honestly think it's the writers fault for Prime being so boring, and I blame the voice director for that style. In the Orion Pax episodes, "Prime" definitely has different inflection and emotion.

Regarding BB, he gets moments, but
he really doesn't do much in the series since he is a mute. He is a better fighter than his G1 counterpart, ,that is for sure

I love Ratchet and Arcee. With the Human cast, Silas and Agent Fowler are the best we have ever seen in the lore (including the movies). The Children are OK, with the exception of Miko. There is so much rage behind her character on TFW back when she was a little more in the fore front. It has calmed down since she is more background noise nowadays.

Yea silas and fowler are dope, Im looking forward to seeing where they go with the mech storyline after the events in nemesis prime, and fowler just has a habit of making me laugh. Yea ralph and whats the other boys name are cool, I hope they explain why ralph is the only human who can hear bumblebee down the line, and I hope its a good explanation.

Arcee and ratchet are awesome, I love what they've done with arcee, she isn't just the pink female robot who doesn't really get up to much, shes a badass now and a total hothead. She can get a lil too over the top for me sometimes what with her constantly not listening to reason whenever arachnids involved but I can live with that. Im still hoping for wheeljack to become a regular down the line.

I doubt the Raf/ BB explanation will ever come into play. I hate to say it, I just think that will be "That's just the way it is". According to some of the future episode synopsis, Wheeljack is a regular. Arcee has really surprised me in this series.

Over in the FoC thread, I posted a link to an interview of Matt Tieger (Game Director for WFC and FoC) and apparently, the Dinobots were no longer seen as relevant to the line by Hasbro. I wonder if the not so strong response to them in Animated made them feel this way?

Watched 4 episodes of Prime. Starting with Dreadwing ep up until the Fowler camera interview. Series seems dope.

Anybody know how they chose this lineup of autobots? No Ironhide? And Bulkhead over Warpath? I wasn't too big on TF back in the day but I liked Ironhide and Warpath. I need a good site where I can really dig in on the entire universe. I read that this show was in War for Cybertron continuity but the designs look totally different. This series also made me go rebuy WfC and I was on it a bit tonight.

But yea, this show will be the first TF one I watch regularly since Beast Wars. It's good.

Tis Goodness. No idea on how the cast was selected. I did remember seeing the Ironhide and Bulkhead were similar and Bulkhead was recieved well in Animated. Tone down his clumsiness and that's what you got. I do remember seeing that Arcee was picked as there is not much female interaction in a TF series. They changed the color because boys simply don't buy pink toys. With the "Aligned" Continuity, outside of TFWiki , and TFW2005, you won't really get much. It is true that Transformers Prime and Game (Cybertron Series) are in the same Universe. However, the designs and certain liberties of the lore are not really taken into consideration. High Moon does one thing, and the Prime Team does another. I think the story time gap goes so far that they don't really care. I think Hasbro just says to High Moon that they cannot kill certain character and they just go from there.

Beast Wars to this day is the greatest story in Transformers History. Seamlessly tied into the OG stuff, most of the cast had some sort of arc in thier relationships, and even had cliffhangers that made my summers suck! Prime, while has a good story, it plays it safe in most of the episodes and characters (as a whole) aren't really given a chance to develop that well.

Never have. I would like to at some point. Sector70 is a great resource for this information.

About LeoKaiser, there is a knock off floating around. I saw one at Tuesday Morning (an overstock store) a few months ago. Kitbash a KO and it could be better than the real thing.

Depth Charge was awesome in Beast Wars. I loved the rivalry between him and Rampage and his quest for revenge. That final fight with him and Rampage was definitely a sad episode but epic episode and one of my personal favorites.

Really didn't care for the Superlink and/ Galaxy Force series. Their American counterparts did it in for me. I did hear that the story for the shows have different story arcs though.

Victory and Masterforce are slated to be on DVD release in the coming months (both as a JP Transformers set and on its own). My bros got Headmasters for me for Christmas. I am pretty sure that Shout is trying to secure the rights for Zone. I too have never seen it.

That whole Nemesis 2 parter was something fierce. While a pretty boss episode, I'd raise you a Code of Hero

man, can't even find DLs for Zone, really wanna see it though.

And yo did those Constructicon 3rd Party Combiners, the IGear adn hercules oens come out?
    Yes, they are out.

Hercules (by TFClub) will run you about $600 (total). Giant (by MakeToys) will be about $300. The biggest differences are:

Colors - Hercules is green, Giant is yellow (a green version is confirmed and is up for preorder)
Different Aesthetic - Hercules is more "classic line" inspired and Giant is G1 inspired
Different architecture - Hercules combiner parts are integrated into the robot/ vehicle/ Giant has "generator trailers" that are pulled by the vehicle.
Size - Hercules is comprise of voyager sized robots, Giant is made of roughly deluxe sized bots
PSN, NNID and CFN ID: OPTIMUS124
SF V - Dictator (that's all that interests me at the moment)
SSB4 - Roy, Ike, and Shulk

It sucks, I'm kind of falling out of lve with TFs seeing how lines like Robot Damashi and Revoltech are out adn the toys are just so much better. TFs like Drift, Bludgeon, Mindwipe, Terradive, and Hailstorm are steps in the right direction but they seem to just be going back to shit like the upcoming WFC line.
Are you right? Are you READY!?

There are to be about 40 releases under the Generations Banner. You can count a lot of those coming from the FOC Game.

    Fall of Cybertron Confirmed Entries
    Onslaught
    Brawl
    Swindle
    Vortex
    Blast Off
    Jazz
    Optimus Prime
    Shockwave
    Starscream

Thats about a 1/4 of the release alone. I'm looking for Grimlock, Skywarp, and Thundercracker to be released under this banner as well.

Ain't that the truth. I think that Hasbro is over simplifying the line. Like it or not, Revenge of the Fallen has some of the best toy engineering ever. I'd say that ROTF Prime was probably the best main line figure to ever have been released. Even looking at going from the First Edition Prime figures to the Robots in Disguise sub line, its quite sad. It's great for the kids, but those of us with a hobby for collecting plasti-crack its underwhelming at times. The Combaticons look pretty solid in individual modes, but in the stock image of Bruticus, its not so pretty. I don't really understand Optimus redesign for the game. He looks fat and there are virtually no cues from the WFC Version, which is actually a pretty solid rendition IMO. I will have to disagree with you in part with regard to Starscream, he's probably one of the best deluxes we have seen in a while.

It's way over simplified. FE Bulkhead and his "Powerizer" Version show a significant gap in the level of detail. The vehicon is pretty stellar. We'll see what the future holds for some of these Generations releases. I am all for FoC toys but I hope accuracy is not sacrificed for playability. Ultimate Optimus from the DOTM line is a clear example of that.

Really didn't care for the Superlink and/ Galaxy Force series. Their American counterparts did it in for me. I did hear that the story for the shows have different story arcs though.

Superlink is reasonable, Galaxy Force is outstanding, with some of the best TF toys ever. Probably why they are still being rereleased as Universe.
However, I watched both series in Japanese, as they were released week by week, and only later saw the American versions.
If I'd seen the American versions first, it may well have put me off TFs. They were truly awful.
Yeah Galaxy Force is different to Cybertron. It isn't part of the so-called Unicron Trilogy, and takes place in a completely different continuity.
Where there is light, shadows lurk and fear reigns.
Yet by the blade of Knights, mankind was given hope.
