    hey guys i was looking through my costume folders and i dont know some of them can someone tell me for who are: AGL, BOS, CHB, JHA, RIC, also do Oni and E. Ryu have these folders?

    Speaking of voice files, I would very much like someone to rip the English voice files for the characters. I want to be able to hear the dialogue without getting interrupted by attacks or whatnot.
    I can rip some rival dialog for you, what characters are you most interested in? Doing them all would take a while.

    hello , can someone modify a Chun Li skin for me please ? :/ , it's this one : http://i52.tinypic.com/idyxjk.jpg , the problem is that after i modify the files and i replace them it gives me a game error , dunno what's the problem , maybe i'm stupid or i missed something :D .

    Epy - Thats an alt costume skin, you can use it with the DLC.

    How do you make transparent effects or remove specific parts of clothing when editing? I've tried erasing them from the files, coloring over them with the canvas color... all pretty much winding up in failure...

    Yes, that's how to do "col-based" transparency (I guess it should be called 'obj.emm-based' now, but whatever). This kind of transparency is cool because it can be very localized (down to the individual pixel) and doesn't affect the model itself, so mods that use it can easily coexist with other mods. However, it can be a pain in the ass to do all of the hex editing, especially on certain objects, like metals (not so big of a deal, now, since the engine doesn't care about filesizes anymore; you should be able to just 'insert' alphatest somewhere, instead of having to 'overwrite' every time).

    The other kind of transparency, "cos-based," is much easier to implement (open the obj.emo in the Asset Explorer and toggle object visibility) and is more complete (gets rid of shadows, unlike col-based), but it renders entire objects invisible with no fine control and directly affects the model, such that it trickles down to all of the skins in that slot.

    Anywhere I can get a program that lets me see the stuff as I edit the hex... i'm a hex n00b as it is, but I don't really wanna waste all kinds of time by editing one little thing, saving, converting, injecting, testing... rinse repeat.

    What are you hex editing that require that many steps?
    With the character files as they are you shouldn't have more things to do than edit/save/test.
    You can see some stuff in sf4explorer, but the best tests are done ingame.

    I don't really have a program to edit hex, that I know of at least... and booting up the game takes so loooong... lol (a little impatient when I have to repeat stuff)

    wow, thanks for this info, I thought the toggle was just for preview, I didn't think you could save those changes.

    Yeah, I'll do it in a few.
    Some of my mods were heavily edited like this one, so sf4explorer as some issue to dump the files correctly.

    Ah, so there's still an index in those files? too bad. I was thinking the emz index was the only thing we had to worry about...

    You can swap files out any time they're not being directly accessed, so to test skins in training, you can just go to 'change character', replace the file, then test. All in all, it takes about 30 seconds or so.

    EDIT: for hex editing, I use Frhed (open source, available free from sourceforge), but pretty much any of them should be fine.

    having some annoyances modding sakura's buruma. Every time I edit and convert them... the DDS file comes out the wrong size...
    It's not a dirty mod... I just wanted to add trollface to the buruma... as if to say "why you starin?"1zdb2ag.jpg
