SHORYUKEN!!!
SFxTK Bio
A wandering street fighter who trains rigorously in order to become a true martial artist. Studied the art of Ansatsuken from his master Gouken, but does not wield it to take lives. He wishes to test his mettle against fighters around the world in order to find an answer in the heart of battle. He searches for Pandora to see if there is a connection between it and the Satsui no Hado.

use :mp: version for AA. It has 4 frames on invincibility
EX version turns into his Shin Shoryuken
(S) Hadoken :qcf::p:
Ex version turns into his red fireball and you can charge the attack by holding the attack button. This results in a free EX red fireball or His Shinkuu Hadoken if held long enough
Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku :qcb::k:
EX version stays in one place and hits multiple times and sends you twirling across the stage
Jodan Sokuto Geri(Sliding Kick) :hcf::k:
Ex version bounces opponent of the wall
SUPER ART
Shinkuu Hadoken :qcf::2p:
I'm happy supers in this game don't require double inputs
COMMAND NORMALS
Solar plexus :f:+:hp:
This move makes Ryu move foward and hit twice. This still has its SF4 properties meaning it's plus frames on hit. I seen some videos where he linked his cr.:mp:
Sakotsu Wari :f:+:mp:
This is his overhead and it hit twice. Not sure if you can combo off of it in this game

    Greate Game play with cross assault shown, but it probably wont mater anymore because now Cross assault is cpu controlled which is stupid

    Alright, that's better. I didn't like Reverse DP as Joudan because sometimes what would happen is when I'm doing a MVC3 combo that requires Joudan (like his old TVC combo) it would come out as Tatsu and everything would be messed up. Just that the commands are too close for my taste.

    HCF is much better!

    So to anyone who is going to be at NYCC, could someone pick up Ryu and see what kind of combos he's capable of? I imagine having SF3 Kick back is going to give him plenty of new options, especially if EX SF3 Kick wall bounces.

    from NYCC stream after a launch combo people were doing cr.:mp: x2 into following:
    into dp or ex dp
    into ex sliding kick > solar plexus > dp
    into cr.:mk: into tatsu
    In the corner cr.:mk: > ex tatsu.> cr.:mp: >dp

    I missed a chance to play this at a few cons. Does anyone how one would use the Shin Shoryuken, or charged up SRK effectively? I can imagine if you're far you can charge up a hadouken, but how do you effectively use a charged shoryuken.

    Every counterhit causes a crumble, overhead counterhits cause ground bounces. You can dash cancel your super charge @ level 2 to give your next normal a counterhit property.. but blocked or whiffed means it's used up.

    That's not true. They did say super charge cancel gives everyone a counterhit, but the "counterhit = crumple" is just a property of Ryu's standing fierce.

    I think they just gave lots of moves peculiar properties on counterhits, alpha-style. Watching any recent video shows you that - lots of people pressing buttons and getting counterhit, and they don't always get crumpled/groundbounced. For example, [URL='http://For example,']this video[/URL] has lots of examples but most of them lead to chains or knockdowns. 3:14 has Ken doing a counterhit crouch strong that doesn't crumple, so that at least shows that normals don't always crumple on counterhit.

    My guess is it varies between something like SF4 counterhits, counterhits with a much longer reeling animation, counterhits that launch (like SF4 Dee Jay), counterhits that crumple/groundbounce that we already know about.

    Considering this crumple was found by seeing a Cammy player hit a st hk I would say all fierces have this crumple on counterhit. Considering Cammy's fierces are great for counterhit.... I like.

    It's nothing so absolute. Hugo's s.HK doesn't cause crumple, for example.

    every special cancelled St. Fierce (maybe Cr. Fierce?) and St. Roundhouse gives crumple state. At least that's what it seems.

    Some fierces cause crumple on counter hit (Ryu's fierce) and some causes that weird animation where they are partially knock down/stagger (cammy's roundhouse).

    Wow is it still like that in the current version? So if it's a counter fierce you pretty much get an extra hit in? (If you catch them in time and didn't combo anything from the s.HP)

    Ryu is looking good in this game,low forward looks really good,plus I would imagine with practice you will be able to confirm into launcher or something.Also you can dash out of charging fireballs which means fake fireballs are a go,his zoning/footsies are looking sweet.

    Combo idea for the game.. I think this generally covers everything for him more or less idea wise that I can see.. Pretty boring combo wise.. Note you can do hurricane kick after jump mp now too.. But meh.. Not much there...

    Well I learned somthing, you can connect with a jumpinng fierce or roundhouse after you used up all your juggling points

    According to the guide posted on the front page, his c.mp +7 on hit meaning 4 frame link to c.HP and c.MP, and a 3 frame link to sweep. His crouching jabs are +6 on hit leading to easy links as well. His F+HP is only +3 on hit now meaning no more F+HP, c.hp. His sweep is safer now being only -8 on block (and can be canceled into specials as well)

    also the best choice he has for an AA is hi :mp: srk. it has 4 frames in invincibility. the other version on has 2 minues the ex

    Ive tested the game today, the most damaging combo for Ryu i found out was (corner) J.HP, SP (yea, lol), MK xx LK.tatsu, c.HP xx HP dp. Im not sure but i think it did around 450dmg there, and around 530 or 520 when you call akuma after the dp and finishes the combo with another cl.HP xx HP dp.

    Anyone can tell me how to cancel the hadoken so I wont have to wast time tomorrow when I have the oportunity to play it again?

    You cancel the Fireball by holding the punch button down then dashing.

    Spent a bit of time with Ryu and my current BnB's are:

    Anywhere

    cr.MP > cr.MP xx Super/Cross Art(? I don't remember the name for the team super)
    cr.MP > cr.MP > cr.MK xx MK/EX Joudan
    If you used the EX then you can follow up a cr.HP xx HP DP. I think you can do a cr.MP and link a cr.HP after but I can't remember.

    Corner

    0 bar:
    Standing Opponent: cr.MP > cr.MP > cr.MK xx LK Tatsu > cr.HP xx HK Joudan > cr.HP xx Tatsu/Fireball

    1 bar
    Standing Opponent: cr.MP > cr.MP > cr.MK xx LK Tatsu > cr.HP xx HK Joudan > cr.HP xx EX DP
    Crouching Opponent: cr.MP > cr.MP > cr.MK xx EX Joudan > cr.HP xx HK Joudan >cr.HP xx Tatsu/Fireball

    You can always start off with cr.LK > cr.LP instead of cr.MP > cr.MP if you prefer.

    I wish I wrote down the damage but whatever, I'm sure someone will find better combos by the end the week anyways.

    midscreen the highest damage solo punish combos ive found for none and 1 bar

    0 bar : c.mp c.hp xx hp SRK = 278dmg

    1 bar :c.mp > c.hp xx EX joudan, jump foward hard kick, juggle with HP SRK = 396damage

    dont use chain into launch to for meterless punishes it scales way too much (doing just fierce + launch into combo is pretty good though)

    Obviously you can get more damage off tag combos depending on the characters (kens hardkick tatsu allows you to combo a full jumpin combo off of a tag) but these are the best ive found solo midscreen

    So far my biggest damage corner combo is:

    j.HK > f.HP > s.MK xx LK/EX Tatsu > cr.HP xx HK Joudan > cr.HP xx Fireball/Tatsu/EX DP

    Anyone else feel like this version of Ryu is sort of a "greatest hits" of the Street Fighter 4 series? He's got a cancellable far standing medium punch (like AE 2011/2012 Ryu), a 160 damage HP SRK (like AE 2012 Ryu), he has the escape tatsu and 120 damage Solar Plexus Strike (like Vanilla and Super Ryu), and a far-reaching cr.MK (like every version except AE 2011).
    My PSN ID is DrSlouch and my XBL is Doctor Slouch. My main UMvC3 team is Ryu/Firebrand/Sentinel, my back-up team is Thor/Dormammu/Dr. Strange, and my Skullgirls team is Filia/Peacock.

    Don't forget his super stylish 200 damage EX SRK! Ryu feels amazing in this game but it's only day one so who knows.

    Good idea with f.hp cl.mk xx tatsu, I forgot about his 3 frame cl.mk.

    Off crossup tatsu, 1 bar: cr.mk xx hp SRK xx tag cancel to Ken, mp hp xx hp srk does 400 damage. cr.mk xx EX SRK does good damage too and it gets full animation. You can super instead but no reason.

    You can combo off Ryu's f.mp with a tag cancel if you do it immediately (can't hit-confirm).

    Plinking works in this game. It's useful for Ryu's harder links.

    You can OS cr.mk with EX joudan for a combo while poking. Longer range than launcher OS and more damage unless your partner is Hugo or something.

    I think you can actually do EX joudan -> j.hk -> cr.hp xx hk tatsu if you time the cr.hp right so the tatsu hits. Not sure.

    Off a tag cancel or your partner's launcher, it seems that cr.hp xx hk joudan, cr.hp xx hk tatsu is his best corner finisher. Midscreen, I've just been going for cr.hp xx hp srk.
