Couple pics of my massive six button stick. 3" tall, 9" deep, and 28" wide.
made from a single piece of .074" cold rolled steel. Sadly, I haven't made a bottom for it yet.

That's clean. I'd be very pleased with its perfect alignment if I'd built it.

Does anyone know what the thinking was for Sega's P1 and P2 layouts? It's good to have choice, but what if two players prefer the same one?

I always figured the 1P layout was to keep the elbow in, or rather, to work better as a layout when your elbow is forced in (because of the 2P person right next to you). The 2P layout seems more ergonomic.

So it's confusing why the 1P layout is often chosen for single-player panels. Maybe people got used to the 1P side, or they just didn't think about it and figured 1P was the dominant design rather than the compromised one. Anyone know for sure?

You forget one important thing. Early versions of those had Sanwa JLWs, later versions had unnumbered Seimitsu sticks.

lol it is butt-ish but the layout is better than it appears the select button is a hori low profile so its not really in the way. The button used to record matches in TT but it could have been in a better spot

I also want to know about that mega drive I have been searching google and I'm getting nothing

I have a T5 that I left 8 button because I, like most people, use the outside 6 and don't accidentally push the other 2.
Oh and I fucked up when I ordered my mirror plexi :P
