I previewed this controller to some members of SRK Tech Talk at Devastation 2011. Thought I'd share the word here as well... Has anyone on SRK been keeping an eye on this project?

If not, here is some info:

I'm actually pretty pumped for this. The default 360 controller is great but it seems this has a chance to be better. Definitely gotta see the price though. Under $100 bucks and I'm in I'm sure.

This doesn't have programmable buttons, does it? Not a factor for me, just curious.

    I'm so in for this
I already have an Onza TE version but I'm quite interested in this pad in terms of both functionality and the fact that it is an MCZ product, the thought of a tournament level CG pad for console shooters is enough to make my mouth drool

I hope it's possible to swap the analog sticks out unlike the Onza. Not a fan of concave analog sticks, also not a fan of glossy plastic. (Nothing some sanding/matte paint can't take care of.) :)

I actually like the asymmetrical placement of the sticks because I play with the middle of my thumbs. On a Dualshock I'll bump into them a lot especially if I'm turning the camera left while walking right. Too bad they didn't give the 360 controller the PS3 dpad though..

    Good ol' convex.

    Why do you say that?

Because the sticks, dpads, and cable are already interchangeable/customizable, so the only reason you couldn't configure and use this controller on every console ever is that it doesn't support the communications protocols and console connections. If (When) Toodles is successful in Kitty'ing this pad, it is the pad of the forever.

I'll keep on the look-out for this pad.

Got to say though, from the picture provided on this thread, it'll be nicer if the sticks had more of the indent like they have on the Silver 360 controllers. I find that the dots-configuration on the regular 360 controllers wears out fast, and I lose too much of the material once it's been used a lot. Whereas the dual concave-configuration on the new Silver 360 controllers don't have that problem.

Programmable buttons are debatable, since IIRC, MLG rules suggests that you can not use programmable controllers during tournament play. (I am not sure of this, but I remember this rule back then when I used to follow MLG.) This was one of the reasons that the Razer Onza was not allowed in MLG, because of it's programmable buttons feature. But, if it's an official MLG product, they might only have this controller as its exception.

As for microswitches on the pad, yes please~! I would love to have microswitches on the pad.

    Hope this product does well!

Consistent Analog Sticks Defeat Slow Turn Issues

One of the biggest challenges facing professional gamers is the issue of slow turn. Inconsistent analog sticks can severely affect gameplay, and sometimes at the worst possible moment during a competition. Problem solved with the MLG Pro Circuit Controller's precise, accurate, thoroughly play-tested analog sticks. Hit your target the first time, every time.

    ProModule Components Swapped At Will

    B0063BCQ20_mlg_procircuit_ps3_07.jpg

The groundbreaking ProModule system permits key components of the controller to be swapped as you see fit. Freely move the D-Pad and analog sticks to create your own personal layout. Every MLG Pro Circuit Controller includes Xbox 360 and PS3-style analog sticks and D-Pads, and additional ProModule kits (sold separately) provide a variety of colors, tensions, lengths and textures.

    Reverse Trigger Mode

The PlayStation 3 version of the MLG Pro Circuit Controller takes customization one step further with the addition of Reverse Trigger Mode. Easily swap the functionality of the L1 & L2, and R1 & R2 buttons, even when that option is unavailable within the game's controller configuration menu! A simple procedure will have your bumper buttons acting as triggers - - and vice versa - - in no time.

    Removable Top and Side Faceplates

    B0063BCQ20_mlg_procircuit_ps3_04.jpg

Easily swappable, magnetic top and side faceplates attach securely to the controller, allowing individuals or clans to skin their controller for personal preference or to match team colors. Provided in both matte and glossy finishes, you have a choice in styles right out of the box. Additional faceplate kits (sold separately) deliver the unique opportunity to customize your controller's overall appearance so you can truly call it your own.

    Durable 3-Meter ProCable

    B0063BCQ20_mlg_procircuit_ps3_06.jpg

A first-rate cable is the key to a long-lasting electronic device. The MLG Pro Circuit Controller comes through with a rugged, braided ProCable which utilizes a unique design to screw into the top of the controller. Wired USB connectivity stifles threats of latency or drop-out during competitive play. Fully detachable for safe transport, nestle the ProCable in its dedicated storage slot within the ProCase to eliminate the hassle - - and potential damage - - of wrapping the cable around your controller. A full 3 meters are included, but additional ProCables (sold separately) provide varied colors and lengths.

    Intuitive Cartridge-Based Weight System

    B0063BCQ20_mlg_procircuit_ps3_02.jpg

A pair of 35g weights provides variance in how the controller feels in your hand. Whether you prefer the weight of a wired or wireless controller, easily add or remove up to 70 grams to create the perfect feeling.

    ProCase

    B0063BCQ20_mlg_procircuit_ps3_03A.jpg

    B0063BCQ20_mlg_procircuit_ps3_03B.jpg

Very interesting peripheral, unfortunately the buttons themselves are not replaceable as far as I can see (and are still membrane-based).
However, it's good to see that Madcatz are not resting on their laurels and are working hard to get proper tools for top players accustomed to game controllers.

    Simple.

D-pad modules will only work in the left two spots. And they will both register as d-pads.

The analog modules would do the same. If it's one of the two left spots they will both be left analog. In the right spot, right analog.

They are not microswitches. We wanted both the PS3 and Xbox 360 one to be equal, as such going with a microswitch button would make the controller incompatible with some games that require analog buttons.

Another, more pressing question though. Is it common ground?

And related to that, Can you fit an MC Cthulhu inside the case?

Actually, it is similar, but not the same functionality.

It is common ground. I showed it off to the Tech Talk crew earlier this year at an event. an MC Cthulhu will fit in the grip areas, but you'd have to take out the vibration motors.

You keep mentioning the PS3 version. Is the 360 version coming sometime after the PS3 version?

You should be able to purchase both off of amazon. Atleast that is what Warkman told me.

Anyways, just wondering why it's wired.
Probably because wireless controllers and FG tournaments don't go well together ?

I keep mentioning the PS3 version because that was the one no one knew anything about until now. Originally we were going to launch the Xbox 360 version first, but now we will launch both at the same time!

I'm wondering if the PS3's L2 and R2 will be triggers like the 360 pad, or rectangles like the default PS3 controller.
