Excellent players you played online

For folks that still regularly play SF: OE, list tags that you remember fighting against and getting your ass royally handed to you lol. I usually learn a thing or two about this game I didn't know before after playing some of these folks. I'll start the list:
PSN Network
Hard_Bread - overall A-game player. Knows the char's usual routine and punishes accordingly.
Teen_Hearts - sick player! Awesome execution and sick Oro play. Once you get MP' in the air, its pretty much game over lol.
EddieRoids- Excellent Hugo; standing qk-->grab shenanigans galore. My Q doesn't usually have issue with Hugo but Eddies just gives me headache lol.
MrCalculus(sp?)- Excellent Urien player. Better stand up asap or eat Door traps all day long.

There are a few more I can't remember atm. I'll post more later. If you see these folks in random rank/pub match room, bring your A-game.

Ive only faced 2 good ones. Duralath or something like that, and a blue ken named drewster.
Edit: I dont regularly play online, so the chances of me running into a good player are low.

I don't want to say Shinshay and Exodus because they're both old-school EC players, but they've been spending a lot more time online lately so I guess those two. I only actually played one online match against Shinshay, and that was when I was using a keyboard(terrible terrible terrible). I never played Exo online, but I have fought these guys before in tournaments and casuals. I was also ass back then, maybe I wouldn't get beat down AS hard nowadays. :P

Japan-wise, I'd say goukisan. He wasn't the best online player I've gone up against(I went toe-to-toe against him, if that says anything), but I had the most fun on GGPO thanks to that guy. He never played Oro though, just Sean and Alex(odds are due to lag), and even then he was actually good with them. I was real happy to see him appear at those Game Bingo tournaments; really nice guy and a solid player.

SwongQM(sp?)- or something like that, nice Ken/Makoto player. Seeing Swong and Capcom at the lobby last night was awesome to say the least.
Yayonno(sp?)- I'll see if he is still in the List of People Met when I get home but this guy has a really mean Makoto. Fake-out hayate all damn day. Even if I can see it coming, just can't react fast enough :(

I know some folks are saying 'excellence' and 'online' doesn't really mean anything. I agree SF OE is not what was promised. I'm still glad it was delivered in the PS3/XBL system for new generation of players to experience. Not everyone knows about emu/ggpo or have the right rig for the full arcade experience. I'm one of those folks. When I first heard it was coming in PSN, I was ecstatic. 'It'll be like Xbox Live all over again' was my first thinking. Although it is a crappy release, it's better than nothing imo.

Comadreja doesn't lag against me, and he doesn't lag even when playing against Helgen in Japan. It might just be the connection that the two of you have.

What i saw here (watched only 2 vids): basic 50/50 play (alex easy mode), stomps, stomps and stomps.

It has nothing to do with the learning curve, imo. It could literally be the easiest fighting game to pick up and play and you'd get the same results. The original 98 port was great in UM. One can hope or we can wait until OE dies completely and spam Ono's twitter with personal attacks since that seems to get positive results for the other games' communities.

I only Liked your post for the 3S Remix suggestion. I honestly think the game died because the faithful (I.E. us) fucking hated 3SOE and the game still not making it in any mainstream tournaments. And when it was in tournaments and being streamed only a handful of people had shown up. It's a true 'damned if you do' situation. A Remix would've reignited the fire I think, provided it would be done intelligently and have good fucking netcode.

Thing with a remix is: they could have made it 5-5s across the board, but everybody would still bitch about balance.

People don't play 3S anymore because it's old. And then some people would but they think "it's old and no one else will play it so I won't either." That seems to be how the community is, they play whatever is new because that's what everyone else is playing, and that's where the competition and money is.

It's also a game where the learning curve is steep at first so no new blood would've made an immediate tournament impact. No one plays 3SOE in tournaments because no on plays 3S in tournaments. The guys who quit playing 3S to move to SF4 are the same people who would've had to play it again when OE came out if it was going to show up at major tournaments. I don't think there's any possible way OE could've reignited the game. Arcade perfect or not, remix or not, it would've ended the same way.

I'm just glad that we have a slightly less bad home version to play on now. Better situation for sticks as well. Just never play online.

That guy... It's really tough... I play Makoto. Anything I do is risky.
Muraltag is also damn good. I'm getting better and playing a lot better but that Ken vs. Mak matchup is justs killer. It's really a fight where I have to be on point with all my punishes and can't make any mistakes and fukiage all cross-ups.
Eatabletech's Urien does some serious damage but he got easier (still scary and trick) to play against after losing a match to him.
I think my favorite person to play against is Inevitabledeath (He plays Hugo the most I think). That guy puts on some serious pressure but it's so much fun because I like 3S when it's super aggressive. Not focused on true zoning, more focused on heavily damaging footsies and whiff punishing.

I know that Final Round will probably see a lot of entrants this year. Of course, I doubt it will attract a lot of the bigger names but it definitely has seen a triumphant revival in many peoples hearts. The only problem is that it's competing for the same players as SF4. SF4 players don't like getting punished, being negative on block, or getting read like a book. I love 3rd Strike because there's a strong "fuck you," notion that really drives my competitive fire.

I'm attending college in Charlotte. Haven't had a chance to make it out to Fayetteville to check it out. It's in Elite Zone, I believe. don't want to change the subject or whatever but everything is punishable on block in sf4. it's one of the main reasons it's ass (ultra or uppercut during "blockstrings" anyone?). that's why they sit on their asses all day long waiting for the other player to make a mistake. choose a fireball character or dictator or some character that happens to have safe pressure and you'll do fine.
you guys are lucky that 3s has seen a revival in NC. still dead here in the Fresno area of california, unfortunately. nothing will reignite this game imo. not redone sprites, balance, music, backgrounds, or anything else. there needs to be a whole new entry into the series but that will never happen. this game is dead for the majority.

What if SF5 was exactly like 3S, with all the 3S characters, a few SF4 characters, The Final Fight Characters, and Karin. And the 3D models were really good and didn't look Rob Leifeld creations. With really good original hip hop music. And Ono had no input in it. And...

The part that's bolded alone would make the game a bust sales wise. The new gen FGPs today aka the casuals want simplicity. Add execution basics for pretty much the whole cast and insane comeback factors and you get a game that casuals enjoy i.e SF4. You won't get that with the strict timing of combos that 3S had. Therefore casuals would avoid it like the plague. You had a pretty good idea though.
