Is it me or is nobody on SRK or EVENTHUBS posting this news on their sites? Is the news that unworthy? I hope they get the word out, I`m sure a lot of people that prefer PC would love to hear the news.
I want to show off my love for this game to the rest of the PC community.
Vice-Versa alternate for Heavy (with fist of the north star taunt) and Peacock hat. Also, I'll be honest, as soon as I saw the news, I checked this thread for anything Oil R related. Sorry Oil, you just have a reputation now.
"What? Heavy can use TWO pair of giant fists? Looks like babies in trouble!"
So. I just woke up. (3rd shift worker) and I just got wind of the PC port and namely, a projected release window and LOBBIES. Coming to it...I feel this video below is an accurate representation of how excited I actually am, since I'm too tired to actually move yet...

Hopefully it doesn't end up like Awesomenauts where they abandon console support all together, but if they must it's understandable.
Hopefully it DOES become like Awesomenauts. The PC version is absolutely phenomenal and they've been able to continue to add content and apply hotfixes whenever they damn well please, death to the chains of console.
I'm PC gamer. Of course I've steam account and tons of games. But fighting game is not good for PC I think. RT @N0_25 Do you use Steam?
From the mouth of Harada. Seems unlikely a PC port would have been faster. If the game was Japanese.
Don't forget, SFxT on PC only JUST got the 1.06 patch after being 9 months behind and SFxT on the PC still doesn't have the ability to purchase the DLC characters that came out on consoles in July. Plus PC waited 9months for a patch that was already behind 1 patch before it came out (Consoles were on version 1.07 since late october and 1.08 (AKA version 2013 a complete rebalance of the game) came out only 4 days after the PC got 1.06)
Japan just doesn't like the PC. Not sure if Starcraft is huge over there like in the rest of Asia but it's one of those things the Japs don't like. They don't like Western games. They don't like the XBOX. And then there's that gag where a guy sees a naked chick or her panties and his nose starts bleeding. It's just one of those Japanese things.
Japan may have to embrace the PC market soon, especially if they want to tap China.
Oh yeah, and the reason why the patches took so long for Strekken on PC was because Capcom stupidly stuck with GFWL and everything has to be approved by Microsuck. Just like on the 360. Unlike Steam which costs nothing to patch or send updates and developers can update the game whenever. So stop propagating lies because you're too poor to afford a decent PC.
Look, I am posting in the thread again...damn you skullgirls!
Problem is that japan think pc is = visual novel ,porn and doujin games only...maybe with more time they can change their minds but for now thats the mindset. You can see too that they port their games more because of another market like US or Korea, there is no "exclusive" jrpg or j action game exclusive to pc for example.
I don't really care if Japan decides to pick up the PC or not. I just can't wait to get a new in flux of people who buy the game only 'cause it's on a steam sale. Oh and maybe SG will finally get coverage from big youtubists like John Bain and such.
(Note: there are actually a lot of nifty PC games to come out from Japan. Go play Fairy Bloom Freesia. It's a sweet ass 2.5D spectacle fighter.)
Oh the game is gonna have a public beta? :P Who knows maybe if we are lucky we'll get to play it quite a bit earlier than those 4 months+few weeks. XD
Ah... It's good to have a game you REALLY want once more... The last one that had me so excited was... I think Blazblue Calamity Trigger on PC. :P Such a shame it ended as it did. :/
And then there's that gag where a guy sees a naked chick or her panties and his nose starts bleeding. It's just one of those Japanese things.
Humidity and temperature, above sea level, blood rush redirected? or something
One of those.

Harada's Arcade based, big budget, traditional fighting games? Yeah probably no big shift coming soon for that with how profitable he is. An Indie game where Indies are much better treated and received on PC? The only uncharted waters are the Fighting game part. Its long overdue to try to get more of them on PC and specifically Steam, & on other servers and network than GFWLive.
But sp00ky Tournaments outside on a laptop > Bathroom sink wall outlet MK. Sorry Mortal Kombat, I just don't have a better example at the moment.

Honestly what does this even mean? If Skullgirls was a Japanese game would the development team have magically not all been layed off? Would their publisher have not been sued for their work on a previous game? Would money have rained down from the heavens to fund any and all of their possible ventures? Or instead are you blandly comparing the games to the Melty Blood, Touhou, and other doujin franchises and coming to that conclusion while ignoring those games' distinct lack of presence or continued support for the console platforms?
It means it would have come out as a doujin game, running on 2DF, with no netplay (let alone GGPO).

Everyone's super happy about lobbys. But I don't really understand, can someone explain - why is it such a big deal?
And 4~months. Dear god. Q_Q Such a long time. I don't know if I can wait that long, maybe I should just go and get an xbox already.
Lobbies mean that online can be more social, rather than waiting for people to join 1v1 rooms, or limiting yourself to long sets with one person. If there is spectating as well then people can set up a lobby and stream other peoples' matches without worrying about their connection affecting gameplay. Plus depending on the way they're set up they can foster a competitive scene by rewarding people who do well with more games. Overall it's just a really nice option to have.
I hope they stick to the plan and have the option to let everyone in the room play at the same time instead of being forced to have 2 people play while 6 people watch and wait for their turn.

An Xbox? Get a PS3, the community in Xbox 360 is pretty dead, even the version is outdated without the patch.
Also 4 months its is a normal date for a port, even It is the date I said.

I wouldn't say it's dead (completely). On the SRK forums, I would say so. Theres a group of around maybe 15+ people that still play on Xbox, myself included. The ranked Is still just as dead, though. Having friends is a good thing.
It's basically dead. If you don't have guys on your friends list, that's pretty much it for xbl. Waiting for 30 mins to play one person isn't a good thing.
"You can lead a scrub to techniques, but you can't make him think."
That was fast.... did they mention how they were deciding on how to do the beta?
Wow seems they have been testing the stuff out in December 20, 2012 @ 09:53:47 UTC
This is clearly not the fully finished game guys, don't go nuts :P
I won't pretend to know how Steam works despite this degree in Computer Game Development, and I can't see a file size on my extremely brief perusal, so I can't even really guess what that file is.
However, this is the internet and rampant speculation is encouraged above evidence based deduction, so I'm going to go wildly out on a limb and assume that's some sort of "let's throw the current 'PC' build of Skullgirls at Steam and see what breaks" file.
In all likelihood it's something even more boring, like a random snippet of code that simulates a package sending 20kb of data over the Steam network.
