I usually put it on expert, unless I'm drunk or tired, then I'll put it on casual.
Last thing someone sent me was a complaint about Peacock getting buffed, while Double got nerfed. Just a light back and forth conversation. Nothing rising to the level of hatemail.
there's a difference between being new at the game and losing to the best the game has to offer. Just because people like me get bodied by the likes of Duckator or WingZero, we should make beginner rooms and rot there with the people who've never played the game before? That's what you're sounding like right now. Casual is for the people who are not as dedicated as experts but know the system pretty well. That includes knowing basic combos and mixups. This is what I expect when I join a casual room and 95% of the time it's what I get. That knowledge alone makes us more than beginners but it's obviously not enough to beat the best there is. So please, fix your twisted standards. The room names might not be the best, but they're still plenty informative.
I would fix my "twisted standards" if it weren't for plenty of hatemail I've gotten for joining a room that is "below my level".
It's not ME who needs to fix their standards.
What do you do when half of the players who set their room on casual mean that they don't know how to play, and the other half will hate you for joining their room and winning with a character you don't even main?
You twiddle your thumbs and then make your own room.
What happens when people remember your name so no matter what you put in your title they won't join your room?
You twiddle your thumbs and then go to training mode.
Yeah, that's plenty of fun. So I join any room that doesn't say Beginner and if someone has an issue with it then whatever.
Then I get hatemail because I should only play on Expert. Without having used Fortune.
It's a lose/lose situation, so I'll just choose to lose. I'll just deal with it. But every bit of hatemail I get from joining the wrong "room", I'm posting in this thread.
And every time an actual new player is bodied by me to the point of not wanting to play anymore ever, then I suppose that's not my fault either because they set the "wrong room title". Or maybe they are mad that I put my rooms to Practice when I play with new teams when I don't "need the practice".
Whatever. I'm officially apathetic about this subject and don't care to hear about it.
Ms. Fortune is great. Everybody likes a little head action every now and then.

I want to read this but all the goddamn line breaks hurt my eyes, as well as my mind (in the sense of "Who the hell would use so many line breaks!?").
Looks far more manageable with a blue background though.
I always set my shit to practice because that's what I always consider myself doing.

I use a lot of line breaks. It's my way of saying "I'm sorry for the internet having so many walls of text, so here's the text with an assload of spaces."

Can't we just try to use standard paragraphs though, instead of making each sentence its own line with spaces on either side? You can still have a space between paras, and if you have a slightly tangent follow-up sentence you can just press enter once instead of twice.
Like this.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
Part 1
I set it to "Practice" whenever I actually want to "practice" a new character or whatever comes to my mind at the time. Usually I'm really bad with these characters and just try to adapt on the fly (little to no combos, usually 1 or 2 strategies, no mixups, can barely confirm off whatever).
I set it to "Casual" whenever I want to use my mains in a friendly game of who can beat whom (may get salty).
I set it to "Expert" if I'm feeling extra confident in myself and am looking for a challenge (more salt).
I set it to "Beginner" pretty much never, because I don't consider myself a beginner and would probably body any actual beginners joining my room. Or I set it to "Beginner" if it's someone else playing on my account and he's new.
It's really too bad there isn't an "Intermediate" or more levels of skill because I don't really classify myself in any of the ones given, just have to make due.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
Part 2
I find line breaks make things easier to read because they look less intimidating, but I agree that it's a bit overboard to make each sentence its own line (even though I personally don't have a problem with it).
I will read a wall of text if I think it's noteworthy, or I'm feeling up to it.
I never read Dime's walls of text unless I have to go back for context. It just seems like most of what he says is fluff and his walls could be summed up in about 2 sentences.
Actually (after going back and trying to read his latest post), half of why I don't usually read Dime's posts is because he spaces his posts even more than I would like, the other half is the fluff.
I played a few matches against Masochysteria on PSN, and my room was set to "casual" so I picked the 2 characters on my 3 char team that I'm weakest with (Bella and Double) just in case he wasn't a strong player. He ended up winning 3-1 so I switched to my main team and evened it up to 3-3, at which point I got a message saying:
"you're such a scrub. wow."
For some reason he hit the Play Again button, so I destroyed him in the next round (would have been a perfect if I didn't mess up my inputs on a reset towards the end). After leaving the game I replied to his message saying "?", and got told:
"you are a scrub. cheap. cheese. gamebreaking. scrub."
If people like that are picking up the game, I guess it means Skullgirls is getting more popular?
"you're mom must be so proud that your over 20, 'n fat, eats donuts and still plays games. Good job for killing the online mate. Go back to COD 'n T-bag little kidies. Oh 'n nice one character usage ya wanker"
