Can it handle 5 volts on the inputs instead of 3.3? From the data sheet it looks like that shouldn't be a problem, but if anyone can confirm it'll make me a little more confident planning out my mod.

Any tips for removing the ribbon cables for the SfxT fightstick pro? Been trying to remove them and install the cerberus in but I can only manage to get 2 off. I've never seen so much sticky gunk on it in my life.

Yeah that stuff can really be the hardest thing about a mod sometimes, lol.
When it's too much to just pull the ribbon and break it, I use an exacto knife to cut in between where the header and connector kinda meet and then also use a really small flat head to help twist and pry the connector away from the header... at least enough to break the glue to a point that pulling it out works.
The worst thing you can do is pull on the ribbon too hard and pull the wire out of it's crimp pin, so just be sure not to get too zealous with the ribbon cables.
Ended up being busy the last few days but your tips ended up helping out. Was my first mod attempt but thought you made it easy enough and sure enough the hardest part about the mod was only getting the ribbons out.
It works flawlessly.

Thanks Phreakazoid. Keep up the good work.
Awesome, I'm glad you're up and running and that it was as easy of an install as I make it out to be :)

Well Gummo has a firmware build that does analog right now, it may suit your need as is. Otherwise there's no ETA at this moment on getting it into the main build. Probably wouldn't be too difficult to add in, it's just a little low on the priority list at the moment.
so I used the stick I dual modded with this the other night with playstation allstars and the L2 and R2 buttons wouldn't work but they work fine on all my other ps3 games. is there a reason this is happening or a way go fix it?

The question is... will Gummo share? :D j/k
Thanks for the info, though, and I might poke at him for some info then.

Looks like there's a bug with the game and how it reads those inputs from a few different controllers. Let me do some exploration on it to see if I can potentially give a "PSAS mode" or something, but my guess is that since this seems to be a common thing with quite a few different brands of sticks you'll see a fix in a game patch.. possibly this upcoming one.
Will you ever get some more unassembled boards in stock?
Yes.. sort of. Currently FA still has a few left that you can get in this form though.
The next run I've had the assembly house mount the top section of parts to make things easier on me with the assembled boards (the JST headers and such). The price for them won't change on your end, it's just not going to be completely unassembled this time.
Before I go ahead and do this one mod for my future brother in-law, will the Cerberus work with Macs?
I actually don't know, I don't have a Mac to test against to confirm/deny, but 360 forced mode will likely work.
Update:
New boards are in, I spent some time this weekend putting some together for a restock at FA and my own site. Unfortunately I pulled a stupid and when I went to process the board files I used the wrong file to do so. Luckily the only thing that is botched is the bottom designators, the silk screen still remains, see below:
This will only affect advanced users, since the top silk screen/labels are all picture perfect and have been improved upon since last build. The USB terminals are now labeled and there's 1-6 markers by the JST headers for reference also.
The top shows the comparison between the previous build and new one. I will make a downloadable/printable image that has these designators for easy reference, they just won't be ON the board this time, sorry guys.
The bottom just shows the updates, can't see the terminal labels but the logo is cleaner and the numbers are there. The top stuff that's shown is all assembled by the factory this time, making it a little easier on me to finish putting them together. When you get an advanced one, it will have that stuff on it... so cut it down to size or just use the terminals to your advantage. Advanced board (half assembled) still remains 30$.
One possible extra use is a cheap fix for a 360 TE that has a busted PCB. Just remove it and swap it with the half assembled one, and voila you have a working stick again. With a little fiddling you can get this to work with round 1/2's for a fix also since it's no longer reliant on attaching to another PCB.
I'm sure this has been asked before but... is the the solderless Cerberus still solderless when you're trying to connect the Remora Board's power to it?
I got mine in today and was looking for the instructions on the website but it's down. A youtube search only pulls up one video that's not in English. Does anyone have a reference video or can post the instructions again for me?

I'm using Google Chrome and I keep getting a "could not connect..." error message. Just tried another browser and I'm still having the same issue. Their site is the only one that I'm not able to connect to right now. Weird...

Odd, let me know if you continue having this issue. I run firefox almost everywhere, try gahrling's suggestion first.
I got my Cerberus in today and I'm having an issue so far. I plug up to a Win 7 64 bit laptop and it says "device not recognized". I plug up to xbox and similar to the pc, the leds light up for a split second then turn off and the controller is not responsive. Plug up to ps3 and the leds just keep flashing but I'm not able to do anything. Any ideas where I may have went wrong?

Check the USB connection. A common mistake is swapping the D- and D+ lines around.
Not sure if you mean make sure I have USB in and USB out in correct terminals but they are inserted correctly if that's the case.
He means to make sure that your white & green wires are in the correct terminals. But definitely double check everything.
My Cerberus boards are not recognised on 64bit Win7 computers so I wouldn't worry about that too much for now, just focus on getting them working on consoles. If no joy then use a multimeter to make sure that the USB cables and terminals aren't damaged somewhere.
I don't have a multimeter at the moment to test this with. Considering the the usb plug is responsive once plugged in and holding start and plugging the usb plug in lights up all 4 led indicators, do you think I've maybe gotten a short in the plug going from the pcb to the Cerberus possibly?

Ok, just a few verifications here.
1. Plugging into the PC with START held down cycles the LEDs clockwise and you can hear the USB connection sound?
2.

Plugging into your PS3 all 4 LEDs flash at the same time briefly?
It sounds to me like you have one or multiple issues going on so we'll just have to narrow some things down.
1. Check and recheck your USB cables into the IDC terminals, make sure they are ALL the way INTO the terminals and the terminals are ALL the way down.
2. Check your 1-6 cables, in particular cables 4 and 5, are they swapped on accident?
One thing you can do is unplug the board's from each other and remove the 360 PCB's USB connection so that only the Cerberus is actually connected to anything, then verify it works on your PC/PS3 before moving forward.

Pics of course help also if you can.
When I had the Cerberus only hooked up it still doesn't work with ps3 or pc. Pc still gives error message but when I hold start down all leds rotate clockwise. Checked 1-6 cables and they are all inserted in the right terminals. When hooked up to the 360 PCB i still get the same issues where it lights up for a split second and then is no longer responsive on 360 and when plugged to ps3 all 4 leds just flicker on and off. Here are a few pics of everything.

Re-do your USB cables, it looks like the white wire (D-) may not be in all the way. The LEDs cycling indicates to me that the board has power and the code is running, but the data lines aren't reaching their destination.
Unhook the IDC terminals all the way back, remove all 4 wires, cut/start fresh and push them ALL the way back until you can see them in the windows. Then press down hard to make sure that the terminals are closed all the way.
I finally got it working now but there is one small problem. PS3 works fine and Xbox also works with the exception of left and right directions. Everything else works. I thought it might have been the sanwa mircoswitch set so I swapped it out and it's still the same thing. Any idea what would cause that?

The joystick harness somewhere isn't seated correctly. The default cable is easy to install backwards on the JLF end of the cable.
I recommend the Toodles JLF-TE joystick wire harness

But it works fine when plugged up to PS3/PC. All directions function properly. It's only when 360 is plugged in that it doesn't work right.
Also, this may be a wiring issue on my part. Sometimes when plugged up to 360 it works fine on the first time. Other times I have to plug it up several times for it to recognize. Like I said, it may be I don't have one of the wires all the way in the terminal right.
yeah, you don't have any access to XBOX since XD+ and XD- are not highlighted and if you haven't cut the traces off the USB, you're mixing Xbox and Cerberus Data Lines together

So I need to cut my USB cable and wire that to VCC, OD-, OD+, and GND. Then from the HORI PCB to XD+ and XD-? What about GND and VCC from the the HORI board.
I tried to use your post here on page 3 as a guide but we are using two different 360 boards so I still had some complications. Perhaps I am mistaken, but it appears that you did not cut your USB cable. Because of this assumption I figured I would not have to the same for mine.
there's something very specific that is hidden underneath that one. On MCZ boards, there are 0 ohm resistors on the D+ and D- data lines. Those are removed, isolating the signal from D+ and D- of the xbox board and the USB cable from one another. The XD+ and XD- are connected to one side of those points to tap the xbox signal and the other half is the D+ and D- of the Cerberus board. Hope that was clear and helps

OK I think I see what I need to do. XD+ and XD- to 360 PCB and OD+ and OD- to us cable. VCC and GND are going to be shared by both boards so it does not matter which of the two boards I solder those two lines to? I guess it will probably be easier to wire those to the Cerberus board since those two points are right next to USB out.
Thanks mortified, had no idea the MCZ boards were wired in such a way.
