ok,just tried using nfba and, yes,it works

Any update on anyone completing it on arcade? I've been using Google translate and I've read conflicting statements via twitter from some Japanese players... Or, at least I think I have... the translations are sometime difficult to understand.

emulation runs the arcade data. while it might have speed differences, input lag or hardware-related discrepancies, there shouldn't be anything that works in an emulator that doesn't work in the arcade.

anyway, count me in the "can't believe a new pad player showed up out of nowhere and did this" camp. the kind of precise walking and timing of delayed moves sounds tricky, as well as improvisation needed for screen position, but this is still quite amazing. boy did makoto's s.LK ever get used for a bunch of shit in this game though. christ.

And this is kind of relevant.

    Thanks asshole.

This thread blew up all my comments on that one so damn hard.

I'm so relieved to hear that, thanks! Well, I'm not good versus people, but what I lack in experience, I make up for in stubbornness. TTTH once on pad, true demon once on pad... I'll probably never pull these off in real matches, that includes the stun on Chun, even though I've done this hundreds of times now, but I still enjoy the challenge of doing them.

At this point, the only tricky timing is doing this from the corner, which makes the s.LK window seemingly much smaller. Midscreen it's just rhythm for me, the only problem is the executing the kara when facing left, my dumb d-pad hardly wants to recognize :db:

Mucho kudos! This was pretty much the holy grail of 3s. Non-tool-assisted and everything.
There really ought to be an SRK award for this.

(I seem to remember SA2, backdash->fwd dash, s.LK x Jab DP, s.LK x Jab DP nearly working as well, perhaps that can also be tweaked?)

    Thanks!

I remember trying that like crazy several weeks ago! I couldn't connect it as the first fukiage pushes Chun too far away, but either way, I still think it would be easier to do it this way. The timing takes a while to get used to, but I've landed it from everywhere on screen that you can connect Fierce x SA2, so hopefully it will be competition viable soon enough.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the first kara fukiage in that combo(while cornered) has the same strict timing that mine does when cornered, you can test by just doing a backdash->fwd dash, wait for chun to wake up, fierce. While midscreen though, you end up very close to Chun when she wakes up.

Seeing this, I wonder if there are any applications w/ an EX. I always thought you could kara w/lk but never tried because the hk kara was what was standard. Also, if it works on Chun, it probably works on Mak too.

Firstly, do NOT criticize SFxT too much or else risk a week's ban. Classy.

Second, this is an astonishing find and just proves that 3s is not dead. I don't know does telesniper here play regulalry or attends tournaments, but it's kind of funny you found something that even the japanese, the top most players of the game since forever, haven't discovered and thought to be impossible here in the "dead" western 3s scene.

Did I miss something? Who criticized SFxT?

Anyways, I've never attended any fighting game tournaments or local arcades (if they exist in my area). I'm just a pad warrior who spends the vast majority of my play time in training mode. I've played a couple SRK members online, but they probably erased my terrible play for their minds. I've been watching the game for a few years now though, but only started playing it after OE...

Oh, and 3S will never be dead.

    Works in the arcade.

    Awesome! Great job agents

For anyone who's landed this from the corner, are you having any extra difficulty when on the right side? For me it seems that I HAVE to go :dp: ( :b: ) +Jab to get the proper spacing, anyone else have the same problem?

This doesn't happen to me when I'm on the left.

EDIT: Never mind ^^^, I wasn't delaying the Fierce long enough....

Apparently it's been confirmed in Japan finally... I feel as though if they understood what I did, it wouldn't have taken so long.

I think I should have asked you kindly to translate the subtleties of doing this at different screen positions.

Would you check http://twitter.com/shie_ken to see if they're doing the same thing? Google translate is making seem like they can't complete one of the versions.

    Thanks.

My first time landing this against a real person :D
NoMoreFunland and I had 2/3 Chun v. Mak matches and he was nice enough to use SA1 to give me a fighting chance. Still haven't won a match, but this is by far the best, single thing I did in the bunch of matches we played.

In other news, I've found 2 new ways/timings for landing this!

    1. (Cornered) Karakusa->instant Fierce-> Short SA2. This puts Chun in the correct position to land the second Fukiage, again, try not to move much before the first Fuki. This will probably be preferred over delaying the Fierce as that can lead to getting blocked.

    2. (Midscreen, left side) Karakusa->instant Fierce-> Forward SA2, delay the first Fuki as much as you would while cornered, this bounces Chun to the right, if timed properly you basically get a second chance to land the second Fuki.

I haven't been able to use the second way from the right side, though that's probably just my fault, execution wise. So in total, there's at least 5 different timings that you can use consistently, most should be based on preference.

What about my plethora of towards Forwards? haha, I blame those on my shoddy Dpad not registering :db: worth a damn.

I celebrated a bit early by blowing that second super though, should have just finished with Hayate... But doing the near universal, dance of video game crouching with you was fun.

From what I gather, SRK isn't very 3S friendly...

It may have had a slight chance to be on it had these videos not been in 240p. No biggie though, everyone that wanted/needed to know this, should know by now.

Maybe if we got Maximilian to dress up as Yun while doing a sketch and get that 6/10 girl to dress up as Chun for fan-service, we could sneak some of the coolest 3S info I've ever seen in there.

Wow..... I honestly don't know what to say to that, I've seen a couple matches where Tominaga had an opportunity to land it but didn't take it. I guess that explains why.....

Seriously, I hope one of you can somehow translate the information to him, if not, I guess I can try to start a tutorial video using MAME, that way the recording might be able to show the combo in slow mo, but I doubt that would help unless I had that input display you see on other 3S vids.

I really don't understand though, I've landed this thousands of times now... It is way easier than the double Fuki on Ibuki/Oro = /

Karakusa->Instant Fierce->SA2..... Short for when you're in the corner, and Forward when you're anywhere else... that works for me consistently... Though when I'm on the right I tend to delay the Fierce to use RH Super.

I added input display on the new version of my site, i think it would be a good way to easily show inputs and positionning.
Problem is, even though I have absolutely no doubt it does work on all versions, so far, i'm not able to retranscript it with a macro on fba-rr.
Could you record yourself (inputs recording, not video) doing double fukiage combo using fba-rr?

If you tell me what to DL, I'll get on it right away. I haven't found a link to the input display mechanism yet, thanks!

Do you need both the corner and midscreen inputs? Both sides? The full Karakusa->..., or just SA2->double Fukiage?
  • ESNESN 最初はぐう... Joined: Posts: 1,347
Full Karakusa combo, P1 makoto on left side should be ok.
Download fba-rr, then launch game, and in menu, Game -> Movie -> Start recording (untick 'record from power-on') -> ok, then do your combo, and then stop recording in the same menu. When done, click on the '...' little button and send me the fbm file.
You need to prepare (charge SA bar) before, and then to record a save state, so you can try as many time as you want.

Are there other examples of a hit being registered but the red and blue boxes do not touch ESN? That's pretty weird.
  • ESNESN 最初はぐう... Joined: Posts: 1,347
I think i understood what happened. Since beginning i knew that, for some move, emulator will not display some of the active hitboxes (collision detection itself is still ok, see Gouki f+mp on hit for example, 2nd hit) but i thought it was happening during all the frames of the action, but watching jab Fukiage on whiff and on hit, bottom active hitbox present on whiff is not more displayed on hit (which hit on first possible active frame).
What happens in telesniper combo is that the first active frame (428) hitboxes are fully displayed (not hitting), then second active frame (429) hits Chun but due to the bug, bottom hitbox (the one actually hitting) is not displayed. If you mentally draw prev frame full hitboxes, you'll meet Chun's passive ones.

Is it another bug that I can't see that bottom hitbox on my corner combo? It shows up on the midscreen one fine.
