There's a lot of rumors floating around that there are even MORE characters in TTT2. Includes:

Can anyone with an advance copy of the game verify any of this?

    Seems legit.

There was a lot more evidence on NeoGAF that strongly suggests they are just DLC palette swaps. All good since they are likely to be free but I was hoping for Dr. B to play like he did in T3 and for Slim Bob to have some move differences between his fatter self.

I really want to learn this game, but if the online isn't good I won't have a legit way to practice.
Can anyone share some feedback about it?
How does it feel compared to other games like SF4, UMVC3, or Skullgirls?

It's good. If you have played SC5, I think it's even better cuz I tried some NYC to United Kingdom test and I had 4 bar. It's pretty playable to me but I don't know the punishes enough. I've just sat in training mode for a while and gotten a good feel for some of the moves for the characters I'm learning.

No matter how good a netcode is, it won't help save shitty ISP connections though.

From what I can tell, the netcode is great. WOOOOOOOOOORLDS better than T6 netcode, which was on par with MK9 netcode.

I tried it on the PS3 version that I had since friday. My 360 version is lost in the mail somewhere (GG Newegg) so I can't test that.

I will attest to same, 4-5 bar connections constantly and only had ONE odd slow moment (but...it only lasted a moment).

 The difference between the pace of the two games makes that a difficult call.

I guess just rest assured that the netcode is good and that you won't have to resort to "online tactics" to get things done online; the game is perfectly playable.

In terms of latency, they are similar in that it's nearly non-existent.

FS netcode has latency, but it's sometimes hard to tell because of the huge buffer.

Well now that I've seen videos, I'm wrong. Everyone seems to have either unique moves or very similar moves but with different properties.

Precisely. I know his whole act from T3, so it was surprising to see the strange properties on his new moveset (aside from falling down)

This is going to happen. The game is built from the ground up on PS3 so the 360 will have some performance issues. Unfortunately can only be fixed by a patch from Namco which I'm sure will come at some point.

This will most likely get done as the game becomes more popular and people make more and more threads. No need 2 make sub forums as of right now since the TTT2 forum is relatively small.

 The game is pretty fortunate to get a main subsection on SRK at the moment.

The community here is small and there is no guarantee half of the people posting here will still post even a month from now. Those sub-forums take a lot of work and carry a lot of overhead and there are a TON of characters; if the traffic through this subsection increases significantly, I'm sure we'll get some character subs but it won't be for a short while at the very least.

    Snip

    ^this but also

I posted this in a few other threads but this will help. always research on tekkenzaibatsu.com.

always start by compiling a top ten move list... most threads have this... your going to have to average it out and make sure people are talking about why they find the move useful. make sure there is at least one of these moves.

    1. homing moves (indicated by a white trail or streak on the animation) to shut down sidesteps
(universal are better moves that track left and right sidesteps vs. one side only)

    2. bound moves that will allow you to extend your combos to maximize your damage output. as well they carry your opponent further to the wall for combos
    (BIG DAMAGE)

    3. a fast safe launcher preferably a mid over a high.

as time marches on you can add another 10 moves, but for now keep it simple.

also don't worry so much right now about frames... its more important to know what notable moves to be using and why. tekken's move list is daunting... and is filled by moves that aren't always optimal(flashy, high risk/reward, rare gems to hold onto after your opponent has downloaded you).

Much like any game people play on this board, there is some studying and practice to be done.

I think the first thing people will be intimidated by is the 100+ move list. Then overwhelmed by movement being slow and weird. These are my two first impressions when I tried to get into 3d a while back. But I think I'm a little more confident now so I'm trying to train smart and pick out the useful stuff to learn.

Right now I have two notepad files on my desktop for my team of Nina and Law, I have a short list of pokes and safe moves I picked out of the list to memorize, some BnB combos, and I'm currently working on optimizing tag assault (if I use it), wall splat combos and eventually the stage breaking tag combos.

Just learn at your own pace. It's vastly different than Street Fighter. You can pick anybody in SF and start doing jump roundhouse and sweep. But do you really know the characters? You go learn their 2-4 special moves after. Great. Now you start learning the useful or uselessness of their normal moves; and then where they apply the less frequent normals (Cody j.LP against dive kicks?? Really, Momochi??). See?

This game rewards you more for some character loyalty and you get about as much out of it as the amount of work you put in.

I'll say this there are almost no useless moves in Tekken. There are a few but every move has its
    use. Learn the 100+ moves.

it's ridiculously complicated if you're used to playing noob-friendly games like street fighter, there's no generic DPs or ultras/supers in Tekken, putting in work is the only way to get good.

the majority of Tekken players are on tekkenzaibatsu.com, they have individual sub-sections over there, would recommend that as SRK doesn't care much for 3D fighters.

When looking at a move list ( http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/tekken6/_movelist.php ) you should find your characters + on hit low and Counter hit launching lows. These will be important to get your opponent to crouch and will allow you to continue your offense.

Currently Inatekken data ( http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?ie=UTF8&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http://wiki.livedoor.jp/inatekken/d/%C1%ED%B9%E7TUD&usg=ALkJrhhfoIhsjgtSI9rATxEGu8iTrxu2CA ) is being moved over to the TZ wiki (http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/wiki/Tekken_Tag_Tournament_2)

As of today Devil Jin, Lee, Leo, Marduk, Zafina, Anna, Ling, Roger Jr, Jaycee, (Partially Kazuya) have InaTekken frame data put into sortable tables. Click of the speed arrow and find your fastest moves. If you rather go to avoidingthepuddle.com, it has some imcomplete transfers of of the pre unlimited TT2, but you can still ctrl +f and find your 12 frame mid, 14 frame mids, and 16 frame mids.

Tekken is about timing and spacing. You jabs and jabs strings are you best moves but the have little range and are high.

You should pay attention to moves that move your character forward versus moves that remain in place, and how much pushback they give.

Virtually every character has a generic df+1, which is your standard poke. Generic d+4 will usually be your fastest low. D+1 for most characters (or Full crouch +1) will kill momentum in a lot of strings and stop people who mindlessly press buttons up close.

The TZ move list and the TZ legend ( http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/legend.php )are the best place to start, then INA, or the wiki if it has your character up yet. The TZ forums have good primer threads for T6 which is a good place to start. Most of the movelists for most characters return in TT2.

http://www.Tkmove.com also is a good site. Mokujin has the information on what the acronyms mean.

For the 360 version, every time you trigger an achievement, the game is going to lag or lockup for a second or more. I don't think disabling notifications changes this. As you knock out the easy achievements, it'll start happening less often.

can anyone answer if the online matchmaking is based on your character rank or is it based on your account's overall rank like in SSF4AE?

Want to know this too, Hope its the later because you rank up shit ton fast in the offline modes.

But I got the game last night, jumped online for like 10 matches and the first match I had was laggy as hell. The game matched me with a 4 bar, but when it started it was going back and forth between 1-4 bars. Guy messaged me later saying he forgot to turn torrents off....

Every other match was pretty stable after that.
