online lag is it me ?

Why is it when I play sfxt online I get laggy matches, and i have 4 bars connection everytime, enemy sometime has 2 or 3, but wouldn't that just be his problem with the lag ? And also for when i get japan, it usually lags, but when i play other online games like mmo's, playing on asian server doesn't do anything to me?

Well there alot of variables to consider both on your side of the network ans the server side.

What systems or consoles do you use? Also what wireless adapters?

Wireless connections is more prone to interference and drop connections and reduced speed. For optimum network performance have a unbroken (no couplers, extenders or additional routers) from your console to your router/modem.

Make sure your modem settings are adjusted as well, medium or high level security setting will cause game lag, check to see if your modem have a gaming mode as well.

Why fighting games lag and not MMOs? MMOs have there code optimized for online play. MMOs should perform much better than FPS or Fighting games would. Also many fighting games that lack the GPPO network engine will suffer with online performance.

This isn't exactly correct, from what I understand, any port forwarding or DMZ will bypass security firewall settings as well for packets coming and going from those ports or the machine behind the DMZ, at least in the case of DD-WRT firmware. So if you have port forwarded 6000, the router sees a packet going to or coming from say, 6000, the firewall settings aren't applied. But if it sees port 5000 sending a packet, then it goes through the firewall filters and SPI.

Aside from port forwarding and DMZ, you should also create QoS rules so that during play, the DMZ'd machine or the ports used for PC games gets the highest priority of bandwidth. Then you can also create rules for other machines that people use, like laptops, to use very low priority when they want to watch YouTube or Netflix while you play.

In DD-WRT, you can change packet scheduling for better packet performance, which I did notice a difference going from vegas to cubic, even though some people say it's snake oil.

the only problems i have is when im vs mexicans and brazilian... 99% of the time they got 1 latency bar, and everything is simply retardedly slow, any other countries are usually fine, is this the game ? imo if i have good connection and they dont, they shud lag on their screen not mine, meh

Lag works both ways... Just play people with 4 bars.

You don't lose anything from quitting before the actual match has started.
