The game still lacks female characters greatly. So with a few exceptions, I tried to stick to females. Rouge is also kind of a joke simply because of how many people will ask for Rogue on the Marvel side and misspell it. Nina should have a different "color" (read costume) for each Breath of Fire appearance.

Marvel:
Vision: A special state character based on density control? I'm in there. Yknow what people have been saying about Emma Frost? A pixie character that turn into a heavy? Why not go deeper, and add a balanced character that can turn into either a pixie or a heavy? Give him faster mobility and grounded teleports that look like phasing through the floor in low density, and limited mobility but armor and damage in high density mode. Plus he'd give us another beam in the form of SOLAR POWERED FOREHEAD BEAMS (name pending).

Doctor Octopus: If I'm doing my math correctly he's got four times the bionic arms that Spencers got, so that'd have to make him four times the character (four times barely mid tier is top tier right?). 80k x 4 is 320k, can you say 320k unscaled up grapples? Plus there was that whole thing with his name being found in the data or whatever in vanilla that makes him seem likely to me.

Green Goblin: Marvel's answer to Firebrand? A more limber Modok perhaps? Either way, I envision myself having a grand old time zipping around the screen on my glider dropping down explosives and being a general nuisance. I have faith Capcom could figure out how to implement his glider effectively.

Juggernaut: Assuming his power up becomes an install hyper that stays when tagged out, I want my headcrush THCs back. Give a character like Dorm or Akuma a powered up Headcrush for that THC and no one will want to call their missiles.

Spider Woman: Not gonna lie i dont have any real ideas that would make her anything else but lady Magneto considering her flight, beams, and hand to hand training, I mostly just like the character. Plus we need more females/beam assists.

Capcom:
Sigma: Seems to be the crowd favorite at the moment, not much can be said that hasn't been said already. Moving on...

Gill: Mostly because I was gonna say Urien but I don't want a charge character. I suppose they could make him into Capcom's phoenix but I'd honestly rather not. Just marvelize his moveset, I'm sure they could work it out.

Asura: Shit I've never even played Asura's Wrath, I just kinda like him. Boys got shit ton of arms. Thats cool as tits.

Jedah: Give him the full Morrigan treatment. Give him flight and alla that. Scythes for superior lockdown and screen control. Up Scythe would be a good assist for incoming mixups. Plus its good timing, considering Darkstalkers Resurrection.

Captain Commando: They gotta have this dude in here, he's an important piece of Capcom history. Plus I'm tired of having only three choices for assists that work well for hitting super jumpers.

For the love of God, I do not know how she isn't already in this game. She is far and away one of the more interesting (AND RELEVANT!) characters in the X-Men universe. An install super ala Complete Change Ryu from MvC1 but for her diamond form, would suit her perfectly...or perhaps like Ryu's denjin buff---but--you know, less shitty.

Only relevant in X-Force, but the possibilities are too cool to ignore.

star-lord - not sure how he'd work to be massively different from any keepaway character atm. morrigan kinda makes them lame and weak in comparison because her lockdown is so safe + strong.
cyclops - it's cyclops. he is a strong all-rounder with a great assist, command grab, and strong normals.
ms. marvel - flight enabled rushdown char similar to nova? more powerful projectile options but no ridiculous dolphin flip H?
luke cage - mobile bruiser type. think hulk with a strong wavedash and lots of armor but less strong normals/no gamma charge type pressure. possible 'haggar' grappler type with less dominant normals but armored normals (not slow! not slow normals!) and specials?
polaris - honestly this is just a fanwank option. i think polaris is cool design-wise and green projectiles/attacks are really cool


capcom:
savan + his party from dragon's dogma - all rounder char, i want this dude to be fucking nuts. sword normals + party moves for specials and supers. must have an install super that lets him teleport and throw really really strong projectiles. must have capcom assist featuring party member using lightning spell.
asura from asura's wrath - basically wolverine. but with punching. and flight. and a beam super. and machinegun projectiles. man i don't even know where to begin with this guy his powers are fucking insane
ptx-40a OR lost planet 2 grunt - either robot char that is actually good, or sustained gunfire keepaway char using grapples and invin command rolls.
gene from godhand - idk. fan favorite.
jean reno from onimusha 3 - IT'S JEAN RENO also whip normals, grapple mechanic, blah blah it's jean reno

there, large cast of chars from different games and series that all have a basis for either being popular or infamous who are all cool and could possibly bring unique playstyles
