I took a different aproach - I tried to see who's the best player for every character based strictly on their performance on single tourneys. I didn't count team tourneys, so Japan is deffinetelly disadvantaged. But is very difficult to say who's the best players in Japan as long as you don't see how they perform in single tourneys. Some online videos are not enough in my oppinion.

Way to ignore like...almost every international tournament. Like for T Hawk, you missed Mixup Night tournament in Japan, where Kouji KOG placed very high. For Rose, you missed Kawaguuchi at SBO and while it was a team tournament, he played and won most of his matches. For Guy, you're missing Mixup Night again. For Chun, Vivi got like top 4(I think) at the Chou Tougeki SBO qualifier, which was a pretty big one in terms of the names that were there. URyo won that qualifier for Sakura and I'd probably weight that specific qualifier to be higher than getting top 8 at Evo, so I'd put URyo over Humanbomb for Sakura.

Though realistically, it doesn't make sense to use tournament placings for ranking of players because some brackets are easier/harder than others and some tournaments hold more/less weight than others.

- Sako: maybe, but the fact is Sako no longer plays Cammy since Super, so I don't think there's a point of listing him as a cammy player, since he only plays Ibuki for quite a time.

- I've only seen Uryo going with viper to counterpick Dieminion at Evo - he lost badly. I haven't seen his viper otherwise. Wolfkrone on the other hand won many majors with viper.

- Actually I included international tourneys - Shadowloo is there. Mix up nights from what I see is more like WNF or B2. SBO is a team tourney, and I stated that I don't count team tourneys, same for Chou tougeki.
But when it comes to Japan is very possible to have missed some tourneys, because is very difficult to find info about them. I made the list with what I could find.

I think it makes more sense to use tournament results then simply picking whomever you think is the best. Someone has to prove he is the best, after all, and tournaments are the best way in my oppinion.

I'm not ignoring it, I usually just listed the best performance, not all of them.
Topanga League is very difficult to weight, because is an invitational tournament, and there are only 12 players in it.
Sako finnished 1st from 12 players, ClakeyD finnished top 8 in a tournament with 256 players.

It makes even less sense to create a list of who's best based on tourney results and to then ignore 95% of the japanese tournies.
The 'couple online matches' (it's actually a duckload of offline ones) I've seen of Younashi are more than enough to call him a leagues better Juri than WeirdoNeo.

If you provide me the info for Japanese tourneys I gladly update the list. Because as far as I know, those "95%" are almost all team tourneys, which are quite irelevant when it comes to our disscusion.
Btw, I stated pretty clear that my list is about best tournament performance, NOT best player overall.
At least my list has a criteria for selecting people, wether or not is the best is up to discussion.
On the other hand, simply stating that Younashi is better is based on what ? Your own abillity on judging the talent of a player based on videos ?
For the record, yes, I think Younashi might be better than WeirdoNeo. That doesn't change the fact that Neo proved more in tournaments than Younashi.

Japanese tourneys are Japanese players only and it's mostly single elimination. EVO, Shadowloo Showdown, Season's Beating, invites players from everywhere, many Japanese players have stated that EVO is by far the hardest tournament there is with the highest skill level.

Placing Akimo above Mike Ross? Mike Ross beat the best of japan at the SF2 classic.

It is the Japanese at Evo that make the skill level as high as it is. The fact that you invite people from all around the world, it results in a lower average skill level because the Japanese players are the best but very few of them get a chance to attend Evo. If Evo was easy/cheap to attend for international players, you will see an entire top 8 Japan placing.

Evo might be the hardest one to win because of how many players you have to go through, but that's about it.

Mike Ross himself stated his knowledge as honda is pretty poor and learns from other hondas. But then again, USA did state Japan was free in Marvel and then lost at Final Round.

The question of who's the best Honda player is a difficult one.
You have Cuongster from Europe, Mike Ross and Hoodaman from Usa, and then japanese Hondas - Akimo, Owarire, Katakana Deaoki, etc

Ranking them is very difficult because I've never seen Akimo and other jap. hondas playing in single tournaments, and making a decision based solely on 1 game is quite difficult. I wish they would travel more.

On the other hand, Mike Ross is a strange beast. He has the most unorthodox Honda, playing agressive. He might be the most talented honda player, he is able to make some amazing reads.
Problem is, he also has some big faults. He hates to play lame - and this is one of Honda's strenghts, like it or not. Unfortunatelly this thing cost him a lot in many tourneys, because there are some matches where Honda needs to play lame. That's why Mike Ross loses all the time against PR Rog - he just doesn't have the patience to play that match. Just watch him ag PR at Socal - he had a huge life lead ag PR's Fei, he should just turtle, he also had super for the next round - a perfect scenario. But instead, he decided to keep going on offence, Fei caught him, put him in the corner, and everything was lost.
Another example was at Evo ag Dogura - another match he should have win, but because he didn't want to turtle, he lost (remember "lame it out, mike").
A perfect counterexample is Hoodaman, who managed to beat twice PR with Honda - because he has what Mike lacks - patience.

So, I understand why Akimo don't think Mike is that great as a proper Honda player. But on the other hand, his talent is unquestionable.
I also hope to see Akimo, Katakana, and other at SS and Evo more :)

And also some amazingly bad reads, like throwing out ultras from full screen when the opponent didn't do anything at all(at this range you shouldn't even be reading, but rather reacting anyway). That just makes him look like a hail mary player when you got so many amazing reads and amazing misreads.

Learn how to rate player skill by watching them play. It's not hard to see which ones have better execution, faster reactions, more awareness, more knowledge, more mental stability, better predictions, etc. Akimo has all of these over Mike Ross, including reads because he doesn't misread nearly as often and he's fighting players that are less predictable than the ones Mike Ross plays against.

Solid is a super ultra talented player , probably the most fun to watch ryu on planet but hes not even near to Daigos lvl...you cant consider solid as one of the best ryus on planet,hes just an fun to watch online warior

Well, this is just my opinion. I just greatly enjoy watching Solid play (maybe even more that i enjoy watching Daigo play), and well, i still consider him to be one of the best ruys out there, even thought he truly is not even close to Daigo :)
And thanks for reminding me of dakou, i just forgot to put him there ^^'

And well.. even though i love to watch jyobin play, and i think he is a really solid Ruy at times, i still dont consider him to be better than Solid.

Jyobin is thinking on many levels ahead of the opponent it seems. He kind of reminds me of poongko, and people laughed at me when Poongko was relatively unknown and I was saying he was a genius. Jyobin is probably lower level than Poongko but their train of thought is similar.
