Hello SRK! Help a Street Fighter player get his game up!

Finally decided to make an account on here because I want to get serious and set up my game. I'm looking to see if anyone would can help showing me the ropes a little since I still lack on some basics. I'm still trying to grasp how to do pokes properly, input timing, mix-ups, option selects, ect. I'm still trying to a permanent main; my best characters would be Guy, Gouken, and any Shoto character(mainly ken). Any help and advice is much appreciated!

I'm a 360 player and do use a fight stick.

Shout outs to any Miami,FL players! Where's the fighting scene at? would definitely love to meet some new fighters!
