New character on the horizon: Squigly!

Yes ladies and gentlemen, Squigly has been announced. There is a ton of speculation around this character, so use this thread to discuss all thing Squigly and Squigly related. I'll update this post as more important info comes along.

So, moving past the obvious squee.

She appears to have a higher super jump than Parasoul, a double jump, an air dash and there are rumors of a divekick. I think we have a new Valentine replacement on our hands.

She needs to replace someone (anyone but Cerebella) on everyone's team. If her combos aren't too funny, like Peacock's IAD-pauses, I think I'll main her. If just for that forward walk animation. The cutest walk I've ever seen, and the cutest animation in this game.

YAY! SQUIGGLY!!!
I've been waiting for her for so long! My team will be finally complete!

For those who don't know about Squiggly, here are some details about her.
(note: some info might be outdated)

Storywise:
- She was a singer and the daughter of a noble family.
- Everyone in her family were killed by the mafia (IIRC)
- The murderers also sewed her mouth.
- Leviathan was the guardian of the family and attached himself to her body in order to keep her alive as a zombie.
-She's also Filia's rival.

Gameplay stuff:
- She'll be a stance character. Something like Gen. She'll probably be very technical to use with stance cancels and what not.
- One of her stances will be a full-zombie version of her.
- She has mechanics using the defeated characters on the screen, like Valentine's lv5. Supposedly she feeds on them.
- She uses a Kung-Fu style and has a DIVE KICK!
- She also has a BOOTY SLAM sort of attack! Kreygasm!
- I wonder if her attack in Double's Lv3 is actually her DP. I think this was mentioned somewhere.

My question to Mike_z: Did the outpouring of support for SG during the donation drive green light Squiggly or was this in the works already?

I was asking about business not art.
I know that what was shown was the state of Squigly from last year.

Did DLC characters get financed because of the donation drive or was the money already in place?

Do you think they could make all of that in a single month while trying to get the PC version signed and organizing a bunch incentives for the drive? She was already in the works when the lawsuit stopped most of the work related to post release support from what I understand. She is only 1/3 finished at best, I guess.

Well, he said that what he showed was the work that had been done before the team was layed off, but it's possible that the donation drive has allowed them to pick up work on her again, hence the info in the coming weeks.

Definitely hyped for Squigly as I wanted her waaaay more than umbrella.

Here's hoping for Ms Victoria/Deep Violet (shiek/zelda style switching as a nod to smash), Venus Lovelace (hnnnng), Black Dahlia(saki style amunition), Annie, and the Triplets.
Also, Bigband is the only male character I'm interested in.

I can't wait to see how she fights. When they said that she would be using kun-fu, i was like, i can't wait to see her in action.

They also said that she has different stances or something like that. It makes me think she could play like Iron-fist in umvc3 or something. Lol

Why is everyone so sure she's being worked on? From what I recall of the stream Mike only said "stay tuned for the coming weeks" or something like that. Doesn't mean Squigly is happening.

Alex Ahad adressed that last week on the other stream. Apparently she's able to manipulate the air around her mouth to simulate a voice, but it results in some weird reverb-y tone that comes out of it.

I'm more curious about who her VA is going to be. I trust Cristina Vee will make a good decision, yes?

Huh? "For everyone interested in Squigly happening... Stay tuned in the next couple weeks". What else could that POSSIBLY mean other than that they are now, or in the next couple weeks are going to be working on Squigly? You could even be optimistic, since he implied that several other things were finished, that in the next couple weeks we'll get a finish time for Squigly.

He definitely did not imply that we're getting Squigly, or a completion date, for Squigly, in any way. He told us to "stay tuned" for a reason, so maybe let's just stay tuned instead of speculating.
