I see many teams from Kanto, but - unfortunately - few from other regions.

The killer teams seem to be Hakase's, Sasori's, YuuVega's and Kusumondo's. I wouldn't sleep on Seki, though. He can OCV any team.

    BTW, the poster is here:

    New edit:
More teams have been confirmed! Thanks to Kuroppi and ST Revival's crew, who have updated the website.

    Just one team:
    MAO
    Ito
    Futachan

IMO, they are the ones I think have the most chance of taking it.

Yes! New X-Mania! Glad to see Toutanki, Taira, Futachan, etc I haven't seen any vids of these players in a long time. I have to say the smart money's on Tamashima, Hakase and Noguchi (top tier ftw!!)

    More pre-registered teams announced:
    Irie (Hawk) イリエ@ホーク
    Hanma (O. Ken) ハンマ@ Sケン
    MB (Boxer) エム・ビー★@バイソン
I think the Ken player would be Hammer, and Ranma would be "らんま". I odn't know Japanese, though, so take it with a grain of salt.

Yep, but MAO's team is vicious. Dee Jays from Ito and Seki can beat any character, Futachan knows the Boxer and Claw match-ups pretty well, and then, there's MAO. My money would be on them.

I think the favorites to win right now are yuuvega/kurahashi/opemai, tamashima/hakase/noguchi, and mao/ito/futachan. Where is tsuji, shiki, aniken, and otochun though? Im torn on who to root for since my favorite players are on different teams....tamashima, seki, ito, and yuuvega

IIRC, the brothers haven't traveled last year, too. I guess they don't have as much time, anymore.

    Awful news..
I keep reading stuff about ST revival, about bringing this game back to life...
Its nice to see big tourneys happening and old top players giving this game a chance again...
But what we really need is new players... And having a strong scene obviously helps...
But in my opinion what will really bring new players to our community is good tutorials/character guides so they can learn easily and have something to start... So, actually good players, stop being selfish and write stuff about the chars you know! The wiki is lacking so much basic content... Stop being lazy and do something about it.

Congrats to mao, ito and futachan....thats a dynamic team that covers every matchup in the game. Mao told me last year that ito is generally regarded as the best player in japan these days and i wouldnt doubt it. Hes simply a machine.

All of the top3 finishers had extremely strong players, with good characters, with great team synergy. Is this the same team that Damdai's crew had to fight at SBO several years back?

Futachan is an absolutely Claw killer, Ito can beat any character on the roster, same goes for MAO.

    I won't doubt him.

Ito against no-one other than Otochun:

Man, I really missed these kinds of posts like NKI did back in the days.
    Good shit.

The sad thing about the DVDs is that even if you were there to buy it, it is still unethical to upload and share. Really a lose-lose situation :(
eltrouble "I doubt that ST will be on the main stream ever again."
    OhNuki: Real men play ST!!
James Chen: there is something special about playing ST on a cab. It just feels so goooooood.

Yeah, I was pretty bummed when I messaged Mattsun. I don't really understand why Godsgarden and Topanga and Arcadia and such have embraced streaming, and ST vids get uploaded to Youtube nonstop, but no one can stream the EVO of ST? Blows my mind. Put it on Niconico and us nerds will pay a few hundred yen at worst. Fucking Game Newton free play gets streamed but this isn't.

XSPR, any way that you could get a hold of the DVD for us gaijin? I asked Mattsun when it was coming out and how much but he never responded.

Also, I played MB Bison (Boxer) a bunch of games and I don't think I beat him once. It's similar to when I play Adachi, just raahhrahhrahhhrahhrahhhh-RAAAAAh like he doesn't have any recovery time. This match is supposed to be even? Maybe slightly in sim's favor?? I can't figure it out, not at any high level anyway. There's just a lot of constant guessing going on and it seems like if I guess wrong once or twice, that's round over or I'm in the corner and shut down. Dhalsim cannot REACT so much in this match-up (as he can in others), he has to GUESS which is worse, esp for that match up where the risks are so high for guessing. It feels like boxer just has to REACT to any threat, and otherwise continue some ridiculous barrage of constant attacks. I wonder when boxer players feel the most vulnerable so I know when it's best to GUESS (when I have a chance).

I tottally agree with that. The match is so hard, and Boxer doesnt have to concentrate much to hit 50%+ of sim's stamina. Dhalsim HAS to be incredibly aware of what's going on to be able to consistently trap boxer and damage him. One mistake can be round over indeed. Very hard match to master at high level. Tamashima / Hakase 10 games series shows it pretty well.

Against Balrog, it determine the direction Shoryu fist input is difficult. Has been condemned to the left orinput, so right. I try to issue a reversal is born so firmly command you miss wandering.

When I was in Japan recently Kawasim told me, unless we got lost in translation, that hakase was the best for him... although that's coming from a Dhalsim player himself.
Easiest solution that would please almost everyone -> a decent port. That is, the DC version of ST running on a PS4/XBOX.
Difficult part -> get capcom involved. Whoever achieves that gets the golden egg and solves the problem for once and for all. Period ;)

wolmar, if it's not too much trouble, would you mind submitting some thoughts on the match here? http://www.strevival.com/yt/?c1=boxer&c2=dhalsim

Click the last video on page two of that link, which should be the match in question, and hit the 'submit hightlight' button as you're watching the match to comment on what's going on at the timestamp of your click. It would be a great help to have character masters analyze matches like this.
