Full results here: http://challonge.com/63rwulwa

1st Place: Psychochronic ($50)
2nd Place: Os Ishan ($20) (100% of entry fees)
Top newbie: James O. ($20)
Casual Bounty: James O. ($10) (for beating Kevin 2/3, Next time I'll have more casual bounties)

Yes, James O. won more in newbie prizes than 2nd place even though he did worse in the tournament. That was the point. to encourage newbies to join and still have a chance at a large pot.

Unclaimed bounties: Unessential, Os Ishan, PsychoChronic. (Funds will go towards Next tournament bonus. Most likely to casual bonuses, since no one claimed tournament bounties.)

LIVE NOW on AND

I got permission to stream on A&C's channel. . If there is enough bandwidth left over, I will also simulcast on my own channel. I changed the name of the tourney because A&C planned to have a tournament in the future with a similar name. So I offered to change mine to avoid confusion.

Tourney starts at 7:00pm EST (probably start streaming casuals sometime around 3-5 EST)

Screw the pessimism or my offline local community. I'm doing it anyway

Its taking place at popular local casuals meetup for capcom games. I'm taking any suggestions you may have to encourage new players to try the game.

Because very few ST players check SRK anymore. mostly it's the local facebook group and NHC.
PM me here or on facebook if you need a stick mod or repair. Same with arcade boards and superguns.

    1. Star Rookie Award. Awarded by the top3 finishers to one new player who's shown remarkable improvement in skill, or provided one of the most entertaining matches in the tournament.

    2. Kiddie Pool. Have all the new players play each other in a round robin format or single elim format. Top finishers then proceed to play in a 8 or 16-man bracket alongside all the regular ST players to determine their skill. The rest of the kiddie pool finishers start out in loser's bracket.

    3. Draft Team format. Assign a few players to be team captains, and they take turns selecting from the pool of players to be on their teams. Works best as 3v3 or larger formats. Format can be either Pokemon or Waseda style.

Just a few of my ideas I've got working. Works best with a large number of entrants.

I'm going to be in town, and I might make it to this. What kind of PSX pads will work with this? I have a Sega Saturn controller with USB connection and it works on my PS3. Will that work? What XBOX controllers will work?

Thanks and glad to see there's still a ST community in TO.

Most PSX pads will work with it. Saturns and USBs won't. I'm waiting for undamn's usb converters to be released.
PSX sticks and pads if you want to use your own. I will TRY to supply PSX pads since a few people asked. I told them to bring their own just incase. I will definitely have sticks available though. I do hope to see you there!

One of the people I had in mind for a bounty dropped out. So I might make you the bounty in his place if you show up =)

I only use USB pads, so I'm shit outta luck. Unless you have a 6-facebutton PSX pad I won't be able to play on anything else.
Thanks for the response though, I hope you have a huge turnout, and post pics pls. = J

Hmm. I recall seeing PS2 6 face button pads. That would work with my supergun... I personally don't have one. do you? A&C games is chalk full of accessories. Maybe I can ask them to provide one / sell me one. I'll let you know.

The staff found ps2 6 button pads, in about half an hour the owner will come in and we can ask permission to use them for the tourney

The bounty players: who do they normally use?

I mean.. I need matchup experience with every character, but maybe I should spend a little bit more time with a few certain ones..

Kevin plays almost everyone. His best are ryu and o gat as far as i know.

JED (originally on the bounty list, but he probably won't show up so I didn't announce him) Uses guile and dictator.

Os Ishan uses Claw, hawk, and fei long.

I mainly use chun. I dabble with cammy and o ryu don't plan on using them on the tournament.

Brett used to be a chun specialist like me, but around the same time i started dabbling with cammy and o ryu, He started dhalsim and dictator IIRC.
