I used to have one until I unleashed my inner torment.

Hey Sagat players, I need your help

    http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/70008/sagat-combo-thread/p8

Trying to get my staple combo into Tiger Uppercut down, but I keep getting standing LP, since I have to input DP motion.

Now, I'm not gonna say a cheap Qanba would make my day, and make me quite happy, BUT...

Hm, kinda too bad it's about as likely as me getting a good X-23 team if I took up Marvel.

could one of you guys do me a favour and swap the metal base plate (not the cover top panel) with mine?
there's nothing wrong with it, it's just that my 30mm gamerfinger buttons won't fit (no problem with sanwas).

i wouldn't have asked this if i could get one online, but no one sells 8-button layout metal base plate for Q4RAF.
anyway it'll be really appreciated if you can help me out since my new buttons have been collecting dust for months.

Dragon punch can be inputted as DF+D+DF+P in the street fighter 4 series so you never actually need to leave a crouching state to get the DP out. Just wiggle the stick around a bit

Aww, Verbal, if you had told me you needed the base plate about 4 months ago I would still have the plate to give you. I took out the stick and the buttons, and tossed the rest in the trash. I think there was something wrong with the wiring or the PCB. I kept getting unwanted double or triple button inputs, giving me combo drops in Teken and red focus attacks in SF4.

Thanks for that, Jensine! I have found a good combo, too:

    c. LK, c MP, Tiger Uppercut

The c. MP gives way more time to Tiger Uppercut than c. LP. I was doing the whole combo pretty consistently!

But, that is definitely a great skill to have, especially VS characters like Guile who have really quick jump-in times.

EDIT but yeah, two down-forward inputs to DP is a way easier way to DP, I should probably start using that all the time. I wonder if that technique will work in SF5, or in the old SF3 or SF2 games?

sure i dont mind, as long as it doesnt change anything with my stick. also i have no clue how to do it so youd have to do it aha.

What time goes the Algonquin gathering start, exactly?

I would like to go early so I can get lots of USF4 games in before I switch over to Tag 2.

No certainly not in older games, the extreme input leniency was introduced to help pad players in sf4. Sf5 will probably feature it too I imagine

Looking forward to the gathering. My dual-mod stick, my red Quanba Q4, is a POS that I decided to junk for parts. I kept on getting unwanted Superchargers in Tekken and Red Focus Attacks in SF4. I replaced all the buttons, thinking it would fix the issue, but it did not. I had enough of the unwnted errors.
is your old Q4 for sell? i don't really need the buttons/joystick or even a pcb, just need the outer case shell.

thanks youssef, you're a real brp. i'll check first to see if your metal base plate isn't same as mine (different batch).

I've been using it way more now and it does make anti-air way easier! Even baiting out jump-ins with a crouch is good, then an easy df,df+HP. My FADC > Ultra execution is getting better now too. I can do c. LK, c. LK, c. LP, DP > FADC > Ultra, or j. HK, c. LK, c. MP, DP > FADC > Ultra. Important to delay the Ultra slightly so it does not whiff, and do a backdash with the FADC in the corner instead of a forward dash.

    Now I'm trying to get Sagat's Trial #22 down pat: c. LK, c. MP, QCF+K > FADC > c. LK, c. MP, ex DP.

I'm also thinking about picking up a rushdown character like Yun, Fei Long or Cammy just to get better with links in general.

Throw a forward HK in there for Sagat's FADC ultra

    cr.lp cr.mp xx DP FADC fwd.hk U1

That's the most common combo into his U1

Two Down-Forward inputs aren't technically a DP. You need 323 or 636 or 623 as a minimum in your input history or you won't get DP. 33 doesn't work.

    313 316 319 323 326 329 333 336 339
    613 616 619 623 626 629 633 636 639
    913 916 919 923 926 929 933 936 939

Those are all the valid inputs. I've written this a lot.

Yeah the only reason down-fwd x2 works is because it's pretty difficult to hit down-fwd twice on a square gate without hitting down or forward as well.

I like c. LK x3, I might use that. Doesn't f+HK make the Ultra scale way more? And if they are in the corner, I doubt you can do a f+HK, you have to do Uppercut FADC with a backdash, then Ultra 1 ASAP, strict timing.

BTW am I quoting Adam? If so, THANK YOU SO MUCH for that little talk we had one Algonquin gathering, when we sat down and I tried successfully to do Ken's link combos into Uppercut. That little talk taught me so much! If I ever win a tournament, Adam is likely the first guy I will shouout.

That nightclub is like 6 blocks away from me, Elliott Spook! I might check it out! Who else might go?

    EDIT

I ended up not going to that nighclub gathering. First excuse, I only got 6 hours of sleep last night and I wanted to get a good night's sleep. Which I failed to do, I am writing this at nearly midnight. Second excuse, nobody posted on here that they were going. I totally would have gone if a couple of people had posted on here that they were going too.
