You guys should try posting a new thread from a phone some time. The mobile version of SRK is set up kinda whack. Started by posting this thread in the newbie forum.

Funny thing is that when I post from my phone using the Opera Browser I can sometimes hit one of those Like/LOL buttons and sometimes it won't let me. Auto-correct is a piece of shit too.

Anywho... I remember Ryan going on about Dudley doing t.MK into SA and my problem with that is that his t.MK doesn't have a lot of hitstun. So, if I want to beat a buffered Parry or wakeup Parry I basically have to assume that they're going to Parry the MK because I can't react if they block.
Also, this game looks good. I don't know why it got my attention.

That just means you can't hitconfirm f.MK. Just hit training mode and work on it. It's funny because f.HK overhead link is the same amount of hitstun, but f.MK feels easier to land.

I don't get why Dudley would be worried about someone parrying towards forward. if he's spaced where shorts and towards roundhouse are both a threat I don't think many people would be looking to parry at a time that would catch it.

Pretty sure I stole it from Ryan

Since I am white I started off not knowing what it means, but I've found urban dictionary to be a valuable resource. Once I looked it up I knew it was exactly the word we needed.

Isn't Buster urban media slang? Like, in a TLC song or something didn't she say she didn't want a buster or a scrub?

Arthur is (was?) a good show! I really appreciate thoughtful children's entertainment.

Final Fantasy 7! I kinda wanna play that again and see how well it holds up. Haven't touched an RPG in years but those were my games of choice into my late teens. Final Fantasy, Suikoden, Chrono Trigger, I'm sure there's others I'm forgetting.

The black community has used various terms to define a punk:
buster, lame, chump, chumpette, brick, LD... Many (not all) of these terms have crossed racial boundaries... God forbid you consider other African dialects in the discussion. Then the list becomes insane.
There's others but much of my repertoire has faded over time.

So it's possible to unhear some of it? I understand the need for subjugation of criminals but of criminality in any and all aspects simply out of "respect" for some death god? Nope. A deathgod would ask so much to receive an equal bearing of sweet and sour.

All my nopes. That's too much shit talk and too many flowers are gonna get trampled. Let's make the desert more deserty instead. Like an oasis! Hey look! No, lambastion state here!

    you forgot scrub
Nah... From my memory (so 1st person perspective, take that with some salt) was not introduced to that word until the FGC... Maybe some cross contamination across cultures there. Probably can't link that back to the hood or the barrio.

I'm slowly getting back into the groove, I haven't played in a long time but had a few lengthy sets with some people, notably crocomire. Using Yun nowadays

I'm sure the dudes that brought it over to fighting games were talking about the same thing tlc was talking about, just a little more personal. A harrowing experience provides enough pull to motivate even a mountain to move. Maybe they were creating a counter straw man for the irl and virtual versions to "compete" against in place of the other. As if to create something in stages that allows throughput but is self-sustaining.

I just wish they'd bring something other than style. Sporadic style is the manifestation of the anti-fad as far as progress goes. This is not to say that it moves in a negative direction but rather that it creates less and that clutters focus which lets in the illusion, confusion and space ( though it allows innovation, rumination [out of a group/gang/"team"] and invitation ). Now if there were many that maybe created an abridged tract to include themselves in the missive then maybe it'd be more in the interest to all parties and not just the hobbyist/stylist in this case.

I know it reads like a really bad business communication chiding but what I'm really trying to say here is that street fighter isn't street fighting, at least I don't see it that way. Maybe I'm missing something? I could connect it with what I know but that's why I'm here and that's why I'm playing Street Fighter. Now if because it's Street Fighter there's a new style we have to figure out, it'd be very nice of you to share that with us, sf world.

Dander, you don't like "repeating yourself twice," which shut down some discussion in here on your training mode whatevers.

but I guess I got more than half of what you meant over in the mcdonald china incident thread. Don't know which word led you that way in their 2 jokes though, Joho = meaning Jehova Witness, excommunicated = meaning this guy keep telling us more about JW's and that process that sounds cult like. Everybody else hit the WTF. so what the fuck.

Start with the rosy eye opener of a Summon that calls forth an entire meteor larger than well, several planets, engulfs a whole bunch of them, and yet still does under 9999 damage. youtube having just that clip, lots of lols

As well, you may want to checkout that awesome one FF6 instead. A lot of character in that sprite art, good music, the last of its kind-for the time from Squaresoft. Like some arcade swansong we are here for. FF7 also had an arcade in the golden thing theme park, submarine game, snowboard, and a kind of rock'em'sock em robot fighter? Don't remember that one exactly. Prob wasn't full featured.

I always thought it was obvious that Binky was a dog of some kind. It was Arthur that was confusing.

Also, going back to Dudley, I still don't fully understand the utility of kidney blow into super, but I really don't understand what the deal is with mp into ducking. Is that one of those things that only works against good players, because every time I try it I get blown up. Is it supposed to be good because it lowers your hitbox, because that doesn't seem super helpful.
  • TebboTebbo Play. Joined: Posts: 5,616
    'good' isn't necessarily relevant.
everything is useful if used sparingly in 3S. i don't see people using mpxxducking as a fundamental dudley tactic. but ive seen it used and had it used against me just to fuckle me followed by a brief pause then 2xlow short or throw or overhead, etc.

and whatever 'kidney blow' is it probably has to do with how that move hits, id bet it catches things some of his other cancellable normals don't. or it allows for linking super, or it just gives a long cancel window, etc. or all of those things.

Mpxx ducking is a hitconfirm and a punish for certain situations. Not much more to it than that, right? For things like punishing Urien's tackles on block etc.

there's pushback on everything. ducking keeps him inside and as long as its used sparingly its kind of hard to catch.
its just one way to get inside.

You know how when you get a lucky parry and then reflex into grab, how you realize you got your parry and that you got your grab but notice you could also have done something a bit more damaging? Well, the ducking lets you pressure your opponent into a situation like that one above but at the same the ducking doesn't ever really move in passed the pushbox so sometimes thegrab box out ).

    Sutorito Faita : Sad strike
vandark, you should hear a cool pherai story from me one day then. Add it to all your history. I'll probably remember it closer to EVO time and just retell it to the forum when I'm probably going to re-tell some more anyway. Its not the glory hole one though, that one's too legendary. You probably know more about that than me.

I notice a lot of people refer to playing 3S on GGPO these days. Is this like... the PC one right? Opposed to the console release 3Sonline?
Is there a reason people gravitate towards the PC one over the console one? or is this just a preference thing?
Question: How do you kill that which has no life?
Answer: Cancel their World of Warcraft account.

Since computers performance and compatibility varies the GGPO experience varies quite a bit from person to person @Tenchi‌

The player base has been playing longer there than most of XBL or PSN and you get a lot less new people trying to play 3rd Strike like other street fighters.

In regards to Dudley's S.MP Ducking, I tend to not really do that for super hitconfirms. Just pressure starter.

Dudley s./c.MP x Ducking is used so you can get full super hits from max range MP.

That's probably for the best since it's too easy to crouch under s. MP. What do you use for hit confirms in place of that?
