The problem is that Jimmy's storyline right now has been lacking drama since the last time he and Chuck rubbed elbows. Those two scenes of them coming to blows have been the best scenes in the series so far. While Mike's story is interesting, I feel like the dual storyline approach is detracting from Jimmy's story. The show is called "Better Call Saul", not "The Adventures of Mike and Saul".

Jimmy's shit is just SO BORING right now. I get that it's important but he's been stuck in that same rut for a few episodes now. Either shit or get off the pot. But now he's finally left that shitty law firm. I still need to start seeing him doing more questionable shit than going through the motions of being a lawyer. Surprise, litigating is boring. It doesn't make for compelling TV unless you're Sam Waterston.

Hope you watched the latest episode.

I suppose we'll find out next episode, but my guess is that it will throw shade on HHM for not being able to do a simple thing as getting an address right. Not sure though.

I assumed the same since Chuck's main point in the pitch seemed to be that Kim was more likely to make slip ups since shes alone and less experienced, but then again there was no way for Jimmy to know that.

It's the contract Kim was trying to take, that Chuck took back. He's tanking it for his brother to make him look bad to make them leave and go back to Kim.

It sucks playing catch up. I missed several episodes, but now I'm back on track.

The spitefulness of Chuck is so great, he was willing to endure his "dangerous exposure" to EM-waves *rolls eyes* to make sure Jimmy didn't get his way via Kim. If Jimmy wasn't attached to this deal I doubt he would've felt such a strong need to hook those clients back in. Granted, the recent flashback with young Jimmy shed a light on why he's cautious of his brother, his self-righteous way of doing things irks me quite a bit.

The sad thing about Jimmy is that the already has Kim (for now at least), and yet he still seeks a professional relationship. I was confused by his obsession, until I realized he literally has no real friends at this point. Kim is the only real attachment he has, not his skeptical brother, or his former colleagues at both firms (He seemed to try and make an honest go at it with Omar at the end). His devotion to Kim is the only thing keeping him from going full Saul.

I love how the show give subtle hints for character motivations and rationales without spelling it out for us. I was wondering how Kim and Jimmy managed to develop a rapport, and then it was revealed that she used to work in the mailroom. Her small town background also made Jimmy more relatable, so it made sense that they hit it off somewhat.

My respect for Kim has grown over the past few eps. After watching the Wexler grind to get new clients, I got to see a taste of the ambitious spirit that brought her out of the mailroom. Her insecurities and occasional "bad girl" antics hint at her humble hometown origins; and also why she gets meek in front of authority, even when she was leaving HHM. lol It still kind of sucks that she only seems to be compelled to throw Jimmy a bone when she's being naughty though.

"McGyver" Mike Ehrmantraut making a tire trap with nails and a hose, presumably for the truck carrying Salamanca contraband? Had these events not taken place prior to Breaking Bad, I would've thought this dude had a deathwish. Hector Salamanca already has a measure of respect for the old man and maybe he's try to prove his worth, but I don't see how realistically he can cross them any further without a quick, reactionary execution. I'm excited to see what's in store, esp. since he's desperate for the cash flow.

The relationship between Mike and Nacho was strengthened with the 25 grand he split with him. The dude knows how to gain respect and then some. In another world he could've been a boss in his own right. This is why he's my favorite character.

BTW, no one was impressed by last night's long single scene intro this ep? Breaking Bad/ Better Call has had a long string of cool intros, but this was quite enjoyable and dynamic.

Finally, a sense of progression. I don't even like Chuck, but that was a super dick move by Jimmy. And now it's inadvertently led to Chuck getting his nut cracked.

And Mike feeling the indirect repercussions of practicing half measures.

I told you guys the best scenes are when Jimmy and Chuck come to blows, and I certainly wasn't disappointed when it happened this episode. Chuck knows Jimmy all too well, and I actually feel bad for Chuck right now. A lot of people feel he's a manipulative asshole, but I really think this episode proves he's just a smart, by the books guy who is burdened by Jimmy's shadiness. We ALL know Jimmy stabbed Chuck in the back, and even if Chuck was an asshole in not believing in Jimmy when Jimmy passed the Bar, he didn't deserve what Jimmy did to him. Now, it looks like Jimmy's shady dealings have physically gotten Chuck hurt. I audibly gasped when Chuck fainted and hit the side of his head against the counter at the photocopy shop; I wasn't expecting that at all and neither was Jimmy. At this point, signs are pointing more and more toward Jimmy more or less killing his brother, maybe more so on a figurative level than a physical one. For all we know Chuck could end up with brain damage after this, but I think it's certain that Chuck is not going to have much of a life by the time this series is over.

Mike definitely fucked up and didn't think a good samaritan would end up getting caught up with Hector, and now Mike has indirectly put blood on his hands, blood he didn't want ever since he left Philadelphia.

Good riddance, Chuck, you meddling bitch. RIP good Samaritan. That's why no one stopped to help that dude on the road. They didn't want an angry brown person to stabbeth them.

Incredible episode. Does Kim's turning of a blind eye to Jimmy's forgery mean much, considering the emphasis she made on not being a fan of Jimmy already falsifying evidence? Also, I like how the writers are able to shift your pity for characters from episode to episode. I've felt bad for Jimmy. I've felt bad for Chuck. I've felt bad for Hamlin. So on and so forth.

I'm already bummed that the season is ending next week. But it looks like power of attorney is what Howard was asking about judging by the preview.

I actually gained respect for Kim. Didn't think it was possible. It's a show though, I know a real woman would never leave a guaranteed bread and butter to take a big risk. I liked how she white knighted Jimmy though.

What Chuck did to him? Not hire him because Chuck was afraid Jimmy would end up doing exactly what he's doing now? The way he delivered it may have been assholish, but his reasoning was not unfounded. Did he really want to take the risk of fucking up his company's reputation because Jimmy can't control his urges? Not hiring someone verses purposefully sabotaging someone's hard work seems like a no brainer as to which one is worse. I don't even like Chuck, but I can understand where he was coming from.

    Fuck A Chuck!

Granted, he didn't deserve his head cracked, but his ego is just off the charts. I understand his point of view, but he never even gave his brother ONE chance to earn some respect. His obstinacy frustrates me and lowers my respect of him, regardless of his airtight morals and legal acumen. Still, for his and Jimmy's sake, I hope he pulls through.

I like Kim even more for not ratting out Jimmy. The sacrifice he made for her outweighed the legal implications, and she couldn't bear the thought of ruining Jimmy's life just to sate Chuck's need for revenge "justice".

Mike's half-measured approach got an innocent Good Samaritan killed. I'm sure this marks a turning point for him and his on-the-fence philosophy. Which just reminds me, his daughter-in-law sorta resembles Lydia, which is probably why Mike pitied her- being a single mom and all... even though she was a stone cold bitch. How dat ricin latte taste?

Oh and I'm worried the ginger copy/print employee will feel guilty for what happened to Chuck and fess up. They say gingers have no souls, but maybe...

I feel like y'all that hate Chuck for not giving Jimmy a chance haven't dealt with family members like Jimmy, so I can definitely understand where Chuck is coming from in a lot of this. He's certainly stuck up and a hard ass about it, but it's not like any of it is unfounded.

It was real enough for him to pass the New Mexico bar exam. You ever seen someone prepare for the bar? It's not easy, no matter what state you live in. Many, if not all, of them require you to finish law school. If he was able to do all of that, he sure as fuck earned it.

Well I mean Chuck's main reason for not wanting to hire Jimmy at HHM was because of Jimmy's super shady, swindling past. Jimmy as a lawyer is like giving a child a machinegun, and Chuck wasn't exactly wrong in that regard. Chuck's biggest fuckup is pretty much not believing in Jimmy when Jimmy was honestly trying to turn things around, but that's typical dramatic irony.

Because he was right. Jimmy was sabotaging him. But see, the two brothers act on different codes.

Chuck's is a legal code. He doesn't waver, even a little bit, outside the law. Nothing Chuck has ever done has been illegal at all. Not hiring Jimmy, legal. Blocking Jimmy getting hired at all, legal. Actively exposing Jimmys ways in board meetings, legal. Trying to prevent expensive clients from leaving his firm, Legal.

But none of it is Moral.

Jimmys Code is a moral code. He looks after his friends, illegally. He signs on clients he KNOWS are illegally being kept from him, which is illegal. He scams douchebags out of thier money at bars, illegal (maybe?). He uses fraud to make his Brother look bad in court, illegal. He pays off witnesses, illegal. He falsifies evidence, illegal.

But, to him its all for the right reasons, aka Moral.

Jimmy is about results, Chuck is about methods.

And literally every single doubt that Chuck had ever expressed about Jimmy has been substantiated ten times over.

And I'm more convinced than ever that the whole "Allergic to electricity thing" is completely brought on by Jimmys shenanigans. Him trying to look over his brother is causing him mental anguish. When he thinks he has Jimmys number, the electricity is not bothering him. As he realized hes falled into another trap by Jimmy, his condition magnifies until he keels over and hits his head. Clearly, Jimmy is the source of his condition.

Chuck should have let Jimmy rot in that jail cell, and gone on with his life. The only time I've seen him make a Moral choice over a purely legal one, and it ruined his life. I feel bad for the guy. He's not done anything wrong. He's like the Skylar of BB season 2-3, where its all hate just because hes the antagonist, no matter how right they are.
