I switched to using my glasses cleaning cloth

I never bothered to use the stock cleaning cloth; I used a glasses cleaning cloth from the get-go.

I didn't even open the bag that comes with the cloth/cap. I have moistened "face towels" that I use to wipe down my VLX after each session. Microfiber/glasses wiping cloth should be ideal for the surface though.

I wasn't even planning on opening that baggie either; but after I swapped in my Seimitsu parts, I realized I didn't have two 30mm hole plugs to use. So I ended up using the stock Hori ones from the bag. I'll replace them with Sanwa hole plugs when I get some more (I like the smoother top-surface on the Sanwa hole-plugs; the Hori one are very textured).
    Current at-home stick: Hori VLX Kuro (LS-40-01 + PS-14-K)
Current portable stick: Mad Catz TvC (LS-40-01 + PS-14-KN)
Current guest-sticks: custom ABS Modular stick (JLF + OBSN-30), custom Saint-stick (Happ/IL Competition)
    Cabinet: custom "Resistor" cabinet (32" LCD, X360, P1=LS-32-01 + PS-14-KN, P2=JLF + OBSC-30)
Previous sticks: custom Happ CvS2 Double-sticks, custom Happ Hitomi-stick & Xenosaga-stick, custom Sanwa/Seimitsu Neptune-stick and Sylvia-stick, modded Mad Catz TvC, modded Mad Catz Brawlstick, modded Hori FSVX, modded Exar Exaprize

    Looking for:
CPS2 (green or blue): Hyper SF2
Naomi GD-ROM: SF Zero3 Upper, Puyo Puyo Fever, Triggerheart Excelica, Ikaruga

Nice, I'm glad I'm not the only who swapped the buttons. Did you swap your joystick as well?

So am I understanding it correct that both the Kuro and the Haya have the same top panel surface, but the only the art underneath is different? The Kuro looks much more shiny/reflective than the Hayabusa, hence my confusion

The top layer IS the art surface.
Just like the old TE Rnd1 or Rnd2, there's a glossy printed plastic sheet that's glued on top of the metal panel that serves as the top-most layer on the VLX.

Haven't used either Kuro or Hayabusa VLX yet. Been too busy. Also, need to trim & mount the felt material sheet (sticky surface on one side) to the underside of each dust cover I got from Michael's. Hopefully, that'll avoid the potential for light swirling marks underneath & around the dust cover. I use a soft cleaning cloth as well.

Ive been using the hori cloth and it works well for me, i have like 0 scratches from using it. But I use a bigger microfiber one i have had for a while since its bigger, either one work for me though.

@EVAC434 all vlx have clear plastic top with vewlix art under it sandwiched between the plastic and metal panel. kuro's art is like a charcoal color and the hayabusa is like a brushed aluminum color. both have small mirror finish details around the buttons and dustwasher then their main color. black for the kuro and infra red(nike color red) for the hayabusa.

@Digital- thanks, I finally understand now! I've decided, after a lot of back and forth, that I'm going for the VLX. Will post when I finally get one.

F.Y.I. The Hori cleaning cloth only works well when its clean and free of major dirt.
Get some grit in that cloth and it becomes like sandpaper, which applies to any cleaning cloth.

I've had my Hayabusa for about 2 weeks, and I love it. I dropped a kowal restrictor, actuator, and 2 lb spring in, made a world of difference!

I heard the actuator gets caught with the restrictor. Does yours have that issue?

@networkingyuppy installed the JCC Auxiliary Panel for me last night.

    I got the full kit.

so fresh and soooo clean! Black on Black on Black.

the buttons have a really nice feel and require a deliberate push to activate.

I had installed 3 buttons inside the cord compartment to accommodate for a 6 button layout and tri-mod which disabled most of the original aux panel functionality.

But now I have Home, Select, L1, L2 and the PS3/4 switch easily accessible on the top of the case!

FYI the panel only seems to fit in one direction making the Rocker Switch the furthest right slot as shown in the pics on his website.

Thanks Jasen for supporting our obsession!

The cherry rocker switch that Jason links for that aux panel has 3 prongs. The dip switch shown on the UFB wiring diagram is 4 prongs. Is there a functionality that you guys are leaving out?

The actuator did get caught on the stock hori restrictor. The kowal has a touch more clearance on the underside.

The two middle pins are GND, so you only need one of them connected, to the center pin, of the switch.

Thanks to my friend Leisl for the artwork and Jasen for the printing & panel.

Hilarious! I wonder what Jasen Hicks was thinking when he printed this!

I pass no judgments! It was a welcomed change from the huge Japanese Cartoon Boobs :)

UPDATE FOR THOSE AWAITING PANELS, RESTOCKS, ETC:

The reworks should be here this week. Once I have them those with artwork submitted will get them shipped right away. I have it all printed out anyways (I think there's three waiting that have submitted it). I am still waiting on a handful of people to submit art, I think one is lingering from the first pre-order period back at the beginning of the year (December time frame).

Ill be putting more up at the end of the week once I get the stock numbers straight. I would ask that if you are interested in getting one of these that you download the art template and have it ready to upload when I send you a Dropbox link. Part of keeping costs as low as I can involves printing at least two panels art at the same time, having to print one at a time wastes a lot of material unnecessarily and I don't like to sit on orders waiting for a second (hence the major push for the preorders). I'm a bit OCD when I see orders in the queue waiting. I like to keep that list at 0 when possible (hence late night shipping notifications!).

UPDATE FOR THOSE WAITING ON THE EZ MOD UPGRADE:

Boards are DONE! They are en route to me now. I *THINK* these will ship this weekend. Barring any huge problem from the assemblers (which I don't expect) thy are ready to go. I am going to install one in each of my VLX (Red/Black) on Twitch before shipments go out so that you can see how easy it is (again) and to randomly test 2 for quality. Maybe you join, maybe not. Either way they will be exported to YouTube afterwards.

    HORI RELATED, NOT VLX:

RAP4 Panels and RAP4 (and RAP4.V) EZ MOD upgrades are being tested this week. The HRAP EZ MOD requires a little more in the way of cables, but you will get a fresh harness and a cool way to mount the Brook Board so it won't flop around in the case. Still stupid easy to install, hence it fits in the EZ MOD Category!

    Cheers.

I streamed an install of the Production board tonight. You can watch it here in all of its glory. And by glory, I mean me rambling and installing this and the OBS-MX Buttons in my VLX.

get some sleep dude, your lack of sleep contributes to your lack of reading comprehension.

I asked when arcadeshock will have their bundle up, not where to buy one. I already know that jasen has them for sale, but arcade shock will have the bundle (that Jasen himself MENTIONED in HIS COMERCIAL for it) and that's the one that I am interested in.

Stop being so mad bruh, get off my nuts with the +lol and stupid replies and learn how to read... or are you a highschool dropout with shit reading skill level?

Their parts are being delivered. They chose to forgo a preorder period to ensure everything was ready to go for immediate shipment when the EZ MOD boards arrived. We should be meeting up for dinner this weekend so they will have that part ready to go. It will take some time to do the soldering in the UFB, so I can't speculate on exactly when they will offer the "ready to install" kit.
