I haven't got on Shoryuken in almost a month, I come back to find out I may have missed the coolest Korean lever mod ever made. I can't wait to see some reviews. I sincerely hope I can purchase The Golden Fanta Kit for myself one day.

@wazwuz There's no need to modify the fight stick case (aka drill a 35mm hole) if you install the 309mj. The collar used in the 309mj is tall enough to have an experience similar to the Fanta sticks but short enough to fit the stick under the fight stick panel.

309mj mounted in my TE2+ (before I mounted a Fanta with custom K-stick compatible panel from Jasen's Customs)

Also, the 309mj still use the round grommets. The stock silicone grommet on the 309mj is softer but thicker. However, when I bought it from Makestick in December of last year I bought the 60a grommet since I prefer something a little bit firmer.

Sorry, a bit off-topic, but how did your order from Makestick go? They seem pretty dodgy. I ordered from them a few days ago but I haven't received a confirmation email or anything, and payment still seems to be processing. All of my emails haven't been responded to either. Anyone else have any experience with them? A lot of people here seem to have successfully bought from them, but how does the process usually go?

Usually I contacting Rohan after put an order, and he will ship it in less than a week. But, from what I heard, Rohan is leaving CMIIW. So I don't know who will handle our orders right now.

Hmm okay. All of the contact info on the site is for Rohan so there isn't really anyone else to contact. Hopefully there's someone handling the orders.

I emailed him as well because that's where I was supposed to submit the artwork for my Makestick case. No reply from there either. Maybe I'm rushing a bit, I should probably wait a bit longer.

Well, they're both similar (according to the 307 description https://www.focusattack.com/crown-cwl-307fj-jms-joystick-clear-red/ ). Also, I used to own a 1s-32 lever and the switches on them have a similar feel with the switches included on the 307.

It looks like they only have one in stock now but it sounds like it might be worth it to try that switch out in the future. Thank you for the information.

I would get the 309mj. It is a decent lever even after you use the micro switches, the regular gersungs from your fanta will work fine from the reviews of the earlier 309mj that @The Pantomnaut reviewed that had the v1623a2s in them.

I'm not looking for a new lever right now, just some more sensitive switches to try in my Myoungshin but I'll keep that in mind.

    [AM51662C5N] are a little lighter(more sensitive) than the [AM51630C69N].

[AM51630C69N] I use for airbag/fujin etc love em

[AM51662C5N] I harvested from some seimitsu levers, gonna try these later with gold-mod parts.

I appreciate your advice about the switches. I think I'll try the AM51662C5N switches when Focusattack gets them back in stock but I will probably wait a while to see if they get the Golden Fanta in stock. I also want to try some sort of switch stabilizer.

was gonna say, the [AM51662C5N] are indeed more sensitive at 1.18N (120gf) operating force . they are also discontinued (which is why seimitsu is making "new" levers with omron switches)

I personally use [AM51662C5N] on my airbag, but with a stock myoungshin grommet (so, basically a myoungshin with metal plate and different microswitches)

Kinda tempted to buy the LS-300 for the switches. Though, it's kinda waste of a lever to do that. I'm probably either go to the cheap route (20g Zippys) or the expensive route (OMRON D2RV-LG).

I can also go to the in between route and buy the ls-300, swap the switches, and if I like the switches sell the ls-300 for cheap

I've got a question before I finally pull the trigger on the 309MJ:

I just realized that the 309M has the neck protruding out a bit from the stick. In my homemade arcade stick case, I have the joystick's mounting plate directly fastened to the bottom of the case's face; it's a thick layer of wood, with some wood screws holding down the plate, with added spacers so I don't screw them too far in and go through the other side.

    YQCpxQ4l.jpg
    9rhZAn1l.jpg
    l8n4Iipl.jpg
The images are of my Seimitsu LS-40 currently installed into the case; mind the dust, as it does need some cleaning.

Part of me is wondering if I'll be able to install the 309MJ properly without substantial loss on the joystick's exposed shaft; the shaft cover will sit flush with the case, but I am unsure about mounting it. Thoughts? This is what's preventing me from finally pulling the trigger.
  • rbuniaorbuniao Joined: Posts: 158
@Elston87 You can try experimenting with using nylon spacers between the case and the stick.

unless im mistaken, there's a 309 Help Me ver. that doesn't have any collar

from the looks of your case/panel, having even a short collar will make your handle too low, so you might wanna opt for the flat ones like the one in the link

Damn; I was afraid of that being precisely the case. That sucks... D:

I remember reading about the two sticks, the 309 and the 309M; there isn't much information on them, but I remember reading that the 309M has much smoother performance thanks to that neck. Focus Attack only has the 309M sticks in stock, but I wonder if I could pitch to them to carry the 309 models for special cases such as myself.

That being said, is the 309M compatible with most commercial arcade sticks? I may just go pick up a cheap or defective arcade stick/case and put my internals into that one.

Hi, I'm thinking about picking up one of those crown 309 sticks from focusattack. I was wondering about the width of the bat top compared to the Sanwa bat top? I find the Sanwa bat top to be too skinny and uncomfortable to use, or is it closer to an iL/Happ? Thanks for your help

Thank you all for contributing to this thread the information here is very interesting & helpful especially to a n00b like me :)

From what I understand it sounds like the popular switch options are either discontinued or unavailable from a U.S. retailer. What are my options for getting more sensitive switches in my Myoungshin Fanta lever?

Still haven't gotten an email but my Makestick package arrived on my doorstep today lol. Only took a week since ordering, surprisingly quick. Unfortunately they didn't include the wire harnesses for my PCBs so I'm gonna have to try and get in touch with them somehow.

In the mean time, threw this together. I wanted a case I could use to try a variety of Korean levers in, and the Makestick case was so affordable, I couldn't not order one.

Edit: noplzz responded to my email within the hour and he's gonna send me the missing wires today. I love Makestick.

Apologies for the bad picture but they seem to be about the same. Left is Crown shaft, right is Sanwa battop.

just my opinion but the myoungshin bat top is really bad quality, mold lines everywhere, easy to scratch, sometimes, sprue points not fully cut, scratching your hand during play. One of the reasons I think we need a better solution (or wait for crown to release the frosted bat-top from that "infiltration" lever lol)

that said, I've never extensively used a Crown handle/stick, is the acrylic susceptible to cracking? anyone experienced cracked crown handles?

Only cracked handle I've ever seen was surprisingly on a Fujin lever. You're right that the Myoungshin handles usually have a lot of manufacturing defects - in that regard, I think Crown wins by a bit. Theirs are typically smoother and cleaner from what I've seen. They're really ugly though, and just because of that I think I prefer the Myoungshin ones.

Yeah I'm not impressed with the quality of the Fanta battop itself. Also the dust washer I find annoyingly loud, but I fixed that with a Sanwa button silencer pad.

Are Fanta and Crown shafts interchangeable? I'd get a white Crown in a heartbeat just to get the color scheme I want.

I can confirm that my Myoungshin Fanta bat top has multiple imperfections including discoloration & lines on the plastic.

I was looking into purchasing a makestick case to tryout some Korean levers on the cheap, but what do i need to buy to complete the build? what wires and pcb should i buy to get this to work on 360. do i also need to buy screws? does anybody have any pictures or tips?

I also thought i should just buy the rev7 omni but i don't know where to print art. If anyone can link me a website or something it would be great. The only place i could think of was arts hobbies and he doesn't do art for the omni. i plan to get a commission from hibachi around may for my te stick and i was thinking of getting it for the omni or even the makestick instead only i don't have the means to print and cut it myself and arts hobbies doesn't offer anything for these sticks.

@wazwuz Will the retail version be available with a Myoungshin or would I have to buy the Myoungshin separately? This is because ParadiseArcade doesn't actually sell a Myoungshin.

You will need Myungshin Fanta. Golden Fanta will be parts only.
