One thing to note. The layout should be centered in 6 button form and not 8. This isn't a 6 button vs 8 button thing. It's a comfort thing. It's OK for 4p and 4k to stick out a little to the right if it means more room on the joystick side.

That is why I suggested the HORI T5 layout, which they also produce.

I think they can look good but not always. That wouldn't stop me from buying for a second. It is being nit picky and I love it hahaha

You love what? Being nit picky? :s hahaha

That's good, I'm mostly referring to the people that expect to see a design specially tailored to them, which we all know is imposible, and then never jump on the purchase because of that. Some things are essential and actually improve the design for everyone, others are just a matter of personal preference and those in particular can be never ending as everyone is going to want it to look or have what they like. Heck, I would probably prefer the plexi going out all the way to the etch but that is a minor nit pick that might only be good for me and not for everyone else so I don't expect @Allfightsticks to modify their design just for me when it is fully funcional just the way it is.

I can see a lot more people actually wanting and liking the flush mount but I'm just using that as an example of something that shouldn't be holding people back from getting these things. I'm sure there were lots of things people didn't like about TEs but that didn't stop them from getting them or waiting until MadCatz made the minor changes(if at all) to get them. These modifications can be a never ending slippery slope that can lead nowhere in an attempt to please everyone. The sad truth is that usually the nitpickers don't even purchase anything and can just mislead the manufacturers who already have tons of feedback to sort through.

Again, this isn't directed at you @ISKone . It is just a far too common thing that always happens when someone is offering a new product and looking for feedback.

    Ahhhh no worries my man/woman.

I amhave sure you figured it out but just in case you didn't... I do product development and engineering as well ad process engineering. My comment about betting nit picky is an extension of my thought processes around engineering and design, I love that.

Add far as aesthetics I like the mechanical look when it's done right. SS button head cap screws on a contrasting or complimentary surface is always a win. Some cheap ass zinc or crappy black oxide Phillips head can ruin a look in a heartbeat. Some high quality black oxide would look nice on a box with flat black sides and a clear coat over raw steal though.

Anyways we getting off track. This looks like a top notch modular case and I'm very interested in it. If they had a Hitbox option they would probably (waiting on color options, lol) already have my money :)

Everyone is going to have a different opinion based on their personal preference and this is what AllFightSticks will have to weed out to not get lost in all the feedback. I agree, SS button head cap screws would look nice but that is something someone can get separately if they really want them (most of us already do for other cases) and shouldn't be enough to hold them back from a purchase.

Things like a Hitbox option on the other hand are a completely different story. I hope they can eventually work something like that out for those that are interested in them.

We've been taking in all the feedback and just ordered some raw metal with the latest design. 25 combinations and 13 unique button layouts. All you need is a different top panel to change layouts. This model also includes larger feet and more option button combos, including on the sides. The PCB plate now supports 4 PCBs including the IST Pre-Installed Brook PS3/PS4 Fight Board PCB Kit. It's hard to see but your layout is in there @Pablo_the_Mex
Keeping an eye out! Keep up the good work!

Anyone here complete one of these sticks recently? It's been a while since this thread got any action. I'm Interested in possibly transplanting parts from my TEK case sticks to two of these cases.
Just need more pics for convincing. =)

Are they still being made? I don't see any of the cases on their ebay store page. I'd like to pick one up.

Looks like (from FB pics) there's a couple of Gen5 case batches in-progress. Nothing assembled yet though. Judging by the pics, they've taken on sizable orders. That's why I find it strange that there hasn't been more buzz on here.

They are probably trying to play catch-up.

I have a custom gen 5 on the way just waiting on the red powder coats to come in this week. Best bet is to message all fightsticks on FB and they will get you hooked up with what u need. Turn out time is not too bad give or take a month or more depending on the request.

I'm currently in that gen5 batch in black and can't wait for it to be shipped. If I wasn't so impatient I'd wait for the wide body one too, but I've already been waiting for almost 2 months.

Glad to hear. I'd like to hear your feedback when you got them built and in use (photos help too). I don't mind waiting. I just want to get a better idea on how these look and feel before I send over a FB msg.

Didn't mean to ignore you guys on here. We'll start our own thread shortly when we are more officially in business and can fulfill orders faster. The best way to describe things right now is that we are in the "early access" phase of things. We are taking and fulfilling orders but continue to develop the case based on requests and feedback. Our website should be up soon and will help streamline the ordering process but we can always chat back and forth to narrow down exactly what you want. Thanks to everyone that has taken the plunge on these early models and helped moved this project forward. I've been keeping most people in the loop via our FB page https://facebook.com/allfightsticks/ but you can message me here as well with any questions. Thanks again for all your support.

Thanks a lot for the update, @Allfightsticks!

I asked about white mini-tex on FB earlier this week. Looking forward to seeing pics of how that turns out. If it does turn out well, I will be hitting you up for both a black and a white case.

Mini version sounds tempting too. What's the development timeframe on that?
  • AllfightsticksAllfightsticks Joined: Posts: 27
@jopamo I'd say in about 4-5 weeks we'll have the raw metal for the 18" and the mini. If those prototypes are sell-able we just have to wait another 2 weeks for powder coating. For additional units it would be another month.

Thanks. It was a fun build and I'm really happy with the result.

@Allfightsticks will you be offering more colors? I'd love for a grey, like the JP Model 1 Sega Saturn, to be offered.

Just finished mine! Still have some cleaning up of the wiring to do as well as order some plexi... I wonder if I can get some dark blue plexi from AFS or Art's?

@Ruprit The sky is the limit on colors. There are lots of standard colors the powder coating company offers but we can special order any color you want. If you go custom it just costs a bit more once you factor in the color and shipping cost. This is the company we would order custom colors from: prismaticpowders.com/powder-coating-colors/ They will ship free swatches to you so you can know for sure what you are getting.

I was actually planning on trying some grays soon because I think you could make some pretty slick black / gray combinations with the top, body and sides. These are all the stock colors we have access to: cardinalpaint.com/products/productcat.php?pcid=2&cctid=8

@WikedJestr Dark blue plexi would look great. I really like the plexi over metal look even if you don't have artwork. Art has the template so he could make that and ship it to you directly. If you need any help getting him the right file let me know.

Is there a possibility of an aluminium plexi instead of a clear one?

I'd be keen on just an all metal, all white stick... pending shipping price to Australia of course..

@mR_CaESaR Here are a few examples of all white, all metal cases we've made:

    All%20White%2002.JPG

    All%20White%2003.JPG

    All%20White%2004.jpg

    All%20White%2005.JPG

Is that what you had in mind?

I just calculated shipping to Australia for someone else and it was about $85 but I'm not sure how much that varies across different parts of the country.

Let me know if you have any other questions and thanks for the inquiry.

@ruck86 I don't think it would add any extra time to the process since we are still a little ways out on the 22. I'd order some swatches now and see if you can find something you like.
