I feel like my stats refuse to level. I been grinding the hell out of charm and guts and none want to level up to four.

How've you been doing it? Best ways to level charm are bathing on Monday, Thursday, or when raining, and doing the Ohya link. Those can all give 3 charm per visit, though if it's raining the bath can either give you 3 charm or 1 guts so save before doing it. If it gives you guts, then go do something else because I don't think save scumming will re-roll it.

I been doing Ohya and the baths for charm. I also been hanging out with Yusuke doing off days since his art stuff also increase charm. I been using books and movies for guts. I been using rainy days for grinding and studying. Never thought about going to the bath during them.

Just keep going then. Honestly I think Knowledge is the slowest gainer but it's easy to grind it.

Honestly every link is super good. The gamer and the weapon shop links are really great to get more out of your guns too

those sic flips help you aim.

just got done with possibly the stupidest battle i had. my whole team had wiped, i had Shiki-oji so nothing they could do would hurt me but i was almost completely out of mana as well, also the enemy adds could sacrifice their health to heal him to full health, also he could just keep summoning the dam things. i somehow managed to win.

The way things are going, this may be my first and last Persona game. It's great when you able to roam and decide how to spend your time, but those opportunities are few and far between right now. At the very least this can't be the only game I play. I usually pick a game to finish and play that until I'm done - glad I ordered Nier and have some other things to switch things up.

yeah but they also hit like a tank and go first making it difficult to anything but survive the first few rounds until you can start thinning their numbers. they had a weakness to agi and guru, but Ann was out of mana, and Morgana was busy trying to heal everyone. i made the major mistake of using Morgana's turn to revive Yusuke who couldn't even help.

Anyhow thats done with and now i just want to see what this new ability i got from Shinya is. from the description it sounds like i have a chance to just gun the fuckers down during an ambush.

I'd recommend switching Yusuke for Ryuji or Haru. Some of those mobs are weak to Zio, and some of the head robots are weak to Psio.

    4th Palace down.
Glad to have a new navigator. Morgana is incredibly annoying. Not so much in battle, but his tendencies elsewhere make me not want to hear his voice at all.

Looking forward to the abilities Futaba offers.

I really like that the game actually bothers exploring some fairly dark themes. The opening to the 3rd palace and the entire basis for the 4th palace is something few games would actually have the balls to talk about, much less a seemingly colorful JRPG about magical teenage master thieves.

The ending of 4th palace made me shed tear, too.

My biggest complaint about the game as well. Thankfully I enjoy the sections between the free bits enough that it's not a dealbreaker, but there's a lot of railroading and text you need to get through to get to the truly great parts of the game.

Exactly. I finished the first palace and after the brief amount of "free time" they give, it felt like I was just hitting "X" for 90 minutes. To make things worse, I feel like so much of it is unnecessary, so that throws the balance off even more. I'm gonna approach this like a interactive novel from here on out.

Dunno, I quite like how the basic, daily lives of the characters are portrayed, and I like the characters quite a bit this far. Allows us to get to know them and sets up a nice contrast to the exploits in the Metaverse. Honestly, if there's anything I think is unnecessary, it is when something in the Palaces is clearly a metaphor (or at least a representation of the palace owner's psyche) and the game goes "omg look a metaphor", not the daily bits.

But yeah, they do drag out. Thankfully I'm sucked too far into the game to care.

Also, how many palaces are reasonable to finish in one go (provided you brought consumables)? I did it pretty easily with #3, and got to the last saferoom in #4 even when I forgot to stock up healing items.

The life sim aspects is what drew to the series. It gives the series a down to earth feeling that no other RPG has. It also keeps things small scale (for the most part) and personal which I honestly prefer.

I'm really liking Futuba. Most of her scenes are hilarious. She manages to be bratty without annoying the hell out of me.

The life sim stuff is cool - I like having to be smart about how I spend my time. It's just that I'm not getting the freedom to do that too often right now. It's just a ton of on rails conversations right now. Someone told me it's better the farther I get, so I'm just being patient.

I manage to workaround that by completing palaces as quickly as possible. I managed to reach the treasure of the 4th palace within one in-game day. Once beaten I have the entire month free to do whatever I want. The only thing that sucks about it is if you the hell out of the palaces like I do then mementos will be worth exploring. New areas only open up after the deadline. Unless you haven't completed requests or haven't captured the personas there you have no reason to go.

Yea but that gives you plenty of time to level up for the next dungeon and Mementos once you've finished up your free time activities for the month, least that's how it was for me in 4. Once I got all my side activities done I just did work re-running the months dungeon leveling up, gaining and fusing Persona, earning skill cards, yada yada.

That seems to be the way to go. The largest chunk of free time I've had is the 4 or 5 days I after finishing the first palace.

I level grind palaces so hard that the enemies in mementos mostly under leveled. I need to get to the areas past the rest point to get enemies with any decent exp gains. My plan now is to explore mementos when I have requests stacked. The boss grind makes it worth it if the regular enemies don't.

I'm disappointed with how the twins are turning out.
They don't seem important to the main plot like Margaret and Elizabeth before them. There were times when they would summon you without Igor around. They haven't felt to need to reach out to the MC on their own and that sucks. They are too subservient for my liking. Also, Caroline is still a bitch.

My kindness is already at 3. Working at the flower shop and taking care of plant in your room will boost kindness. Hanging out with Ann during Summer break will give you Kindness. Increasing my proficiency will be hell. I know making tools and working the beef bowl shop will do it but I need to do both of those in the evening. I don't want to sacrifice my evening social links.

That's why you should pace yourself on links and focus on getting social stats up whenever a good chance presents itself. If there are no ways to level up a stat by 3 points then do links. If there's neither then do jobs or activities that'll give you 2 points at least

Well I JUST got kindness to 3. So all rounded now. I do try usual good stat boosts like watching dvds, bathhouse on mon&thursday. Only time I do random stuff is if its night/day and no links are available that im interested in are available.

So far I maxed Ryuji, nurse is 7, ann is 6, makoto is 5&6, Yusuke is 3 lol. Mishima 7, and Hifumi at 3. Theres more links I wanna do but dont got time...might start the news reported lady tho. And Got the maid at 5 or 6

That's not even the worst of it when it comes to confident progression.
Some will require you to go mementos to progress them when they reach a breaking point. This is usually around rank 8

Yeah IMO those are never really a problem since Mementos quests don't seem to expire, so it's simple to let em stack and just do em all at once

Good game, finished it last night - around level 70ish, and just over 125 hours played (probably at least 10 of that from leaving my system on). Got all social stats maxed pretty easily, and most confidantes.

Not sure about if there are good/neutral/bad endings etc (this is my first Persona but I've read they are prominent throughout the series), but after so many hours I probably will never find out for myself. I'll definitely get around to playing Persona 4 Golden finally since I've had it on Vita since it was on sale for $10 sometime last year. I've always heard good things about the series and just slept on it for too long, I guess.

    Ending / Choices spoilers:
The ending that I got was that I get out of jail and Sojiro picks me up, then I meet up with the squad at LeBlanc. The next day they pick me up from the station and say they'll drop me home and we ride off into the sunset, free at last, I guess.

I didn't rat out my squad (snitches get stitches), and I didn't join fraud Igor/The Holy Grail at the end.
I chose to go on both dates (Christmas and Valentines) with Kawakami, but for Valentines I had Takemi and Hifumi show up at the crib and beat the shit out of me for cheating on them. Oops? Guess I had too many romance links.

I completed all requests except for the ones that are tied to the social links I didn't complete. I didn't bother with Ohya, Chechnya (or whatever the fortune teller girl's name is), and I'm not sure who else has requests that I might have missed. Not sure if completing all requests affects the ending, but I did complete a whole pile of stuff way down at the bottom of Mementos...

Anyway, good times with the game. The "Beneath the Mask" song has been stuck in my head for two weeks, especially the rain version. The music in the game was above average, but that song always especially sticks out.

I wanna click that ending choice that so bad but dont wanna be spoiled. I heard in this game's case theres 2 bad endings and a good one I think? And my friend said you'll know if you got the bad ending because he said the endings are literally bad as in they suck.

But glad you enjoyed man! Im past midway in Sept. i think if I can get my shit together I can max out more links and what not. Enjoy Persona 4. Think you'll def like the OST for that one more than 5

Sidenote: if anyone opens the ending spoiler tag, can you tell me if its hella spoilery? I know the choice for p3 ending isnt too spoilery, and on top of that you can reload save after that ending, its what I did.

But I know p4 ending choices are spoilery af

Apparently what I got was the good/true ending. FYI Drelly it's pretty spoilery when you consider what happens towards the end of the game (again, can't say much for fear of character spoilers...), but here's the thing: Honestly, I think the good ending sucks anyway (at least the ending cut scene and post-credits scene), and is probably the worst part of the game.

Now that I've looked up the other endings, I think the bad ending was the most impactful, and would have been an interesting way to end the game. I would have missed out on some fun fights though. The true final boss was a particularly fun, active fight. I beat it first try, but thankfully I had some Persona with appropriate builds, since there were certainly some "oh shit" moments.

Looking forward to P4G (and the soundtrack!) :bee:

Is it easy to miss the good ending choices? Just mega curious because like i said p4 had a bunch of nonsense to get the TRUE ending. Where as in p3 the person who gives you the ending choice makes it clear as day that "choose this= bad, or pick this for good"

I did hear the choice to get good or bad ending in p5 is pretty clear tho.

As for p4g idk the true ending requirements. Because they added a new character who im sure plays a role into getting the true end. I would say avoid p4 research tho...because knowing the spoiler for the game can actually ruin the entire experience since the plot twist is what the game revolves around.
