lobbies would be great, doesnt seem like there's enough players for it though. There's never anyone in casuals

If there were lobbies, im pretty sure there will be more people in casuals...Its exactly the same as Rank, so might well just get something then nothing.

I hate the cage level with a passion, unless they allow the Claw player to control the dismount, how in the hell is that anything but a handicap for Vega? It's like taking Akuma's air fireballs away, like WTF

It was a huge oversight on capcoms part. "Oh hey lets do this nostalgia thing on Vega's stage". lol.

I think I remember you on HDR. I was playing against MichaelLee. I'd say he has the most impressive V.Ken I've run up against so far. I think this might be his first time with SF2 because he lacks a few basics but he has V.Ken's skill plays down. Very adept at using the dash on wakeup to set up a 50/50 jab srk (that's completely safe on block). We probably played about 30 times yesterday and I think I beat him at least 20-10 but the way the game deals PP out I think I barely made change when it was all said and done lol.

MichaelLee is a tough Violent Ken. He understands how much more dangerous Violent Ken's mixups are when you also have to worry about his hadoken. I haven't had a match yet where I didn't think, "Wow! Should have thought of that."

He's pretty good but he depends a lot on the warp, at least when I play him.

I think they should change the current Violent Ken to Shin Violent Ken and make a more nerfed version the selectable one. He is pretty godly as-is now.

It's interesting to run into a bunch of people I played against on GGPO years ago. Good games Ganelon.

If I could change only one thing about Ultra Street Fighter II, the cage climb in Spain would definitely be it.

And for the record, whenever fighting a Vega player I always make sure I don't pick Spain stage. There's nothing beautiful about either player not being able to play their best.

meh im not going to cry over Vega...Only thing that needs changing & hopefully if ever gets release in the other consoles is the lobby system. Had my best gaming experience during Hyper Fighting & HDR lobbies that i would play hours & hours everyday...Talking shit, discussing strats, or just shooting the breeze. Also love watching the matchup studying my opponent & the constant different players joining...This is what made the difference between console vs ggpo/fightcade.

It is weird that HF and HDR (even SF4) had great lobbies and capcom would just forget about it.

Were you the DJ? Sorry about not playing more, I was trying to get more matches against a high ranked V.Ken at the time.

That was me! I used to go by the name littlecowpower on HD Remix and played Blanka exclusively, when he wasn't borderline garbage. Now I stick to Evil Ryu and only switch to Dee Jay or Blanka against the players I respect most.

I've mained Zangief and Guile in past versions of SFII as well... Nothing but love for this strange game.

MichaelLee is alright, but his attitude sucks (you can just tell) and he runs after one win. I sent a friend request to him with my name changed to an insult, and he actually added me lol. I'll see if he actually sticks around for matches now.

Btw I am SSj4_Ryuk on USF4, mind adding me on Switch? I would love to play a good Dj.

Here's another fun thing to discuss. Want to know which characters the game's top online players main in Ultra Street Fighter II? The Nintendo Switch keeps track of the top 100 players online, and I've tallied the results.

There are as many Zangief specialists than there are Akuma specialists or Boxer specialists, and only two Sagat mains in the top 100. This game is nothing like ST at all.

So I was playing Balrog vs V.Ken last night. Fired a super, it gets blocked, and the guy SRK's after the 4th blocked hit and fully connected. The Balrog super did not have the trademark slowdown after the 2nd or 3rd hit that usually happens near a corner. Never seen that once before. Also notice people getting hit with MP HHS when I'm playing Honda, taking one or two hits and then SRK'ing out of the next hit. That seems a little more plausible since the HHS doesn't combo into itself but it is also something I haven't seen before in ST.

Do you think it's the more lenient inputs making it easy to buffer in the SRK even if mistimed slightly?

Also I remember reading somewhere that the number of frames that V.Ken's shoryuken is invincible is different from Ken's. Haven't tested it myself but that could be the reason.

Yes. Honestly if something in USF2 made it so Rog's super is no longer safe on block from invincible attacks like SRKs then anyone with an invincible special should be able to do it against him.

I think Rog's super can be vulnerable between the 4th and 5th hits in ST without the usual "super lag" happening. Seems to happen based on distance and possibly other factors such as whether it's in the corner. Deejay can punish after the 4th blocked hit with LK upkicks when it does happen as can Ken with DP/super.

If memory serves its a CPU Rog issue and only happens in corners.

Online data doesn't show any character needs to be banned. The character with the highest BP right now is Violent Ken, but it's by a very small amount. Him, Balrog, Chun Li and Ryu are all within 300BP of each other.

If you ban Akuma, Violent Ken and Evil Ryu preemptively you should host a Super Turbo tournament instead.

I've only run across 2 V.Ken's that made me want to quit for the night. When they have the dash DP/throw 50/50 going it's very hard to deal with. The vast majority of V..Ken's aren't on that level.

I really don't get you. Vega jumping on his fence destroys his walldive game. Vega gets heavily penalized if he lands on his own stage. That's obviously bad. Also no one in their right mind would advocate allowing Shin Akuma being allowed in anything other than silly casuals. His fucking HP fireball does 50% damage. Jesus.

No Vega player is ever picking that level on purpose, people usually pick it as a nerf to force a ground game.
