Yup. Not that there aren't any Atari 2600 games that are still fun, there definitely are but, that was effectively "horse & carriage" gaming lol. Even back in the day before i experienced anything better, such as the NES, i thought 2600's library was pretty lame on graphics and content. And Music was simply non-existent, just the various beeps and various sound effects.

I can still go back and enjoy NES era games quite a bit but, Atari 2600 is pushing it as far as my retro-gaming appreciation goes.

Except all the console makers will never allow for a AO rated game on their machines.
It be PC only, and this this is a pornographic AO rated game, good luck getting funding.
    Majora's mask
Moving this away from Majora's mask as we got too many Majora mask here.

Well all N64 titles aged terribly.
3D PS1 games and pretty much all N64 games are badly aged

The Generation before them, the Sega Genesis and the SNES came out like Roses.

Early 3D gaming aged like 1970s home decor, both looking fuggly.

I agree for the most part, except for Super Mario 64. I think that one's still pretty good, and has aged better than most N64 games, including both Zeldas.

OoT looks and plays like horse shit.

I wish games like Starfox and Tenchu would get remakes, as well as the MSX Metal Gear games.
There's so many cool, old games that look like trash nowadays and motherfuckers remake Kingdom Hearts or God of War 3 and shit.

Yo, the sound on the Commodore64 was soooo superior to anything that was out at that time, possibly since. Seriously, the Sid chip is fucking off the chain and still making crazy elec music:

Star Fox is reaching Super Turbo and Tetris levels of remakes.

Just pick up the 3DS version and be done with it.

"Beautiful" isn't it? Also z-target combat is such a joy, and the amazing puzzles where you shoot shit at the wall or push blocks, then shoot more shit at a wall and push more blocks.
Only fucking retards whose first console was the N64, think OoT or MM still look good. They look like fucking shit.
You put 10 people in a room with OoT and ALttP and see how many people touch your childhood memory that looks like a dumpster fire.

OoT is an important game because it did the transition to 3d well alongside Mario 64, but to say it aged well and still looks good is pants on head retarded, and so are you, sir.

Still OoT doesn't really need a remake. They have made the same game with better graphics for the next 19 years on every major Nintendo console.

My first console was NES. Technically it was Atari because my older siblings thought it would be easier to learn, but the first console I enjoyed was NES. Dont even bruh.

The thing that keeps OOT relevant is the atmosphere of the game. I'm not saying the game LOOKS good per se, I'm saying the game is still good to play.

OoT hasn't aged well at all. It gets really noticeable in OoT3D, which has better graphics but can still feel boring.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying OoT is shit, but I consider it the average now. If any Zelda styled game is worse than OoT it's garbage.

Majora's Mask on the other hand is like fine wine. The older you get, the better you can understand the characters and plotlines and it only gets better.

3D remake is kind of ass though. Easy Mode and Zora Link got nerfed to oblivion for no reason. I can almost see Capcom's hand on this.
Graphically wise it's a major step up from the N64 though, and I'm pretty sure it looks less like an LSD trip. All colors everywhere, fuck Great Bay Temple.

Graphically a lot of old early polygon games don't really hold up but you can argue that the gameplay in some of them does.

Everything about the c64 was wonderful at the time. So many load * memories.

The music from that thing as stated is phenomenal. Space Station Oblivion eluded me as a game when I was young but the theme still haunts me to this day

the older I got the more I realized MMs side quests are fundamentally juvenile(the fact that OOT doesnt emphasize story is a plus in my book). the side quests are so melodramatic. the core idea of MM is good but I just feel like the game was rushed. It needed a solid year or two longer in development IMO. It needed better dungeons, mechanics, music etc. I guess my frustration with MM is that I see what it could have been, but I dont think it ever came close to what it should have.

I dont fuck with LSD, so maybe thats why I like OOT more. I know many who have, and I guess I would say there are some similarities. OOTs dungeons just have personality that matter. Seems like OOT is more inspired by nature, and that matters to me. a lot of the sins OOT has are present in MM, its just wrapped up in a 3 day thing that ended up being a burden.

Graphically they all look dated to me. But appearance is subjective. Mischief makers game play wise holds up, it just visually looks dated to my eyes, not as bad as other n64 games but there a certain quality that just sticks out to me.

Melee I'll give you... but there are 8-bit games I'd take over some of the shit today, like Castlevania III, and any MM game after the first one.

The Disney Afternoon games, TMNT III: The Manhattan Project is better than Turtles in Time to me gameplay and the music compositions are better, SMB 3, Kirby's Adventure, etc... A lot of 8-bit games stand up pretty well even today.

Most "classic" JRPGs, especially those from Square, have since been outclassed by later games with more engaging battle systems and better storytelling.

This includes Chrono Trigger, though that one still has a really good narrative at least (though it's probably helped a lot by the DS translation).
