How often do you replace your directional microswitches?

Greasing the gate and actuator on a Japanese joystick is unnecessary and dumb. Sanwa Denshi doesn't do it from the factory. Neither does Seimitsu. If you're hard up for Happ, buy an IL stick.

Buy a brain. If a little grease can slow-down powder infiltration, unnecessary and dumb is your situation. I'm hard up for whatever works right.

    Warned for being a douche.

Don't act like an idiot when people are trying to give you sound advice.

Am I the only one being warned? That poster said my solution was "dumb" with all the implications. I just returned the favor. You however, directly called me a "douche" and an "acting idiot". Who's going to warn you? Oh, as far as "sound advice", why is greasing the actuator and gate stupid and unnecessary on a "japanese stick" if it can prevent some powder shedding from gate to actuator contact?

No one's going to warn @d3v

    1. The plastic power will mix with the grease and slowly start siezed up your stick with gunk

    2. Grease can get into the switches and interfere with the metal contacts inside

    3. Japanese sticks and American sticks work on the exact sample principals, same actuator pushing switches and using a spring or rubber grommet to center.
Nether joystick comes with sealed microswitches.
Actually the only Joystick I seen with sealed switches is the silent JLF, there never been a Happ or IL that used sealed switches.
Even then it's not a good idea, grease can make it's way in from the switche's plunger.
The only difference is Japanese sticks are built to be more compact, and they tend to be more accurate than Happ/IL.
Happ and IL joysticks can take more physical abuse in the real world.

Crazy that people create threads to have a place to argue.
