    Good question, I THOUGHT you had to hold forward in order for boost to cancel a move but I probably just do that as a habit.

    You DO have to hold 6 after a CD connects to auto-boost though.

    I'm not really sure, haven't done it in a while. I think it's maybe a bit later than expected. I don't think it's really that hard at all.

    You can do it with c.C too and that might be better for damage. AC will get you the same results though (extra star taken off). I was thinking you could get an extra hit in there too, like |> C AC or something like that. I don't remember. There are, of course, better combos near the corner involving the JIed moves for extra stars.

    They're listed in the actual game that way? Like in the training mode and stuff? If so I'm guessing it's because that's the way Guilty Gear players have been doing connotations for a long time and they're finally following suit.

    Yeah, that's the one. lol :sweat: Thank's. I have it. But my game won't be in for another day...I hope:wonder: Shin is good to start out with? I want to end up playing with Rei/Toki, but for now, I think I'll just get use to the system.

    Hmm, I figured the joystick was pretty universal. I never kept up with the GG scene, so this is all new to me.

    Yeah I agree with you. GG listed the moves in the format that we are all used to, so I see no real reason why it has to change.

    Dumb information that probably everyone knows but I didn't see it posted...

    Health Total:

    Everyone in the game has 192 health.


    Defense ratings(might be off by a point or two? Hard to test):

    Raoh: .85
    Everyone else: 1.00
    Mamiya, Thouther: 1.20

    Stun ratings(gotten via Shin's 236A projectile, # is the amount of projectiles taken to cause dizzy so bigger numbers are better):

    28: Mamiya
    25: Kenshiro
    24: Jagi, Mr. Heart, Rei, Shin
    23: Juda, Thouther, Toki, Raoh

    Note: This could just be that some people are more prone to Shin's projectile but I doubt it.

    Weight types:

    Heavy: Shin, Mr. Heart
    Medium: Everyone else
    Light: Thouther, Mamiya

    Guts ratings:

    It couldn't be to balance him out because relative to some of the other characters,he is pretty easy to use.On the flip side it definetly gives him an advantage over pretty much all of the other characters.

    His BD grab has some kinda super armor to it. I think it's good for 1-2 hits.
    His corner BS loop is: CD, boost, (B), D, IAD j.D, D, IAD j.D.. then you could do 236236A super or into his air throw 623A or something else.
    236236B throw craziness: works very well against Raoh, not sure about anyone else -yet-
    Get that Raoh into the corner and mash BD. You'll see Raoh just about to hit the ground and that's when you want to mash BD again.. and again.. and again.
    Staples: His j.C hit confirm used like this.
    214B, j.C (before they tech and right as you jump), land and immediately do grab super 236236A

    Tier list IMHO:
    Toki, Shin
    Raoh, Ken, Shin
    Heart, Mamiya

    On the Wiki it says Jagi is mid tier...tied with Rei, and Juda...which confuses me. He doesn't exactly strike me as powerful as the other mentioned chars...

    Also, why is Raoh dead last? I'm not exactly knowledgeable in HnK, but from the matches I've seen, it would seem Jagi and Raoh should be switched?

    BTW, Demon Dash, there are corner differences in this game, both arcade and PS2. It seems like the PS2 version is really good as far as gameplay and the game engine is concerned. They just changed a few moves deliberately to try to fix balance issues I think. And yeah, Raoh has weird hit boxes in the arcade version, and basically everyone has a unique behavior when they get hit.

    My main character's Toki and I was practicing combos and other stuff yesterday using him on the PS2 version. I didn't notice any speed differences vs. arcade. At first I thought his lk teleport got laggy, but that wasn't the case and every combo or setup works the same.

    The game physics seems to be 100% true to the arcade version. The bounce combos still require the same conditions to work, the up+normal to get a turned around air attack in mid-air, kara canceling normals, hitboxes and behavior of characters, corner differences, etc. I think it's all in there game engine-wise.

    The sound on the PS2 version however, sucks absolute shit. If you play with the default sound settings it's just so unbarabe to listen to the trashed up version of the sound. The default volume levels are not tuned to be most arcade-like, so I fiddled with the settings and this is what I thought was closest to the arcade feel. BGM - 107, Voice - 64, SFX - 40.

    These are some of the functions I found in training mode. All the stuff in the menus are in english and easy to understand, and if you don't understand a menu, turn it on once and you'll figure it out. While playing in the training mode, pressing select resets the round and you start a fresh session from the middle of the stage. If you press start (to bring up the menu) then press start, it hides the menu and you can see the paused characters. Press select again to bring the menu back. While you're playing training mode, press start (bring up the menu) and press start again (close the menu) and you'll regain your meters. You can just tap twice on the start button real fast and get your meters back to 100% quickly.

    My impression overall on the PS2 version was very good and acceptable for serious play. We'll have to see if there're any more weird PS2-only glitches like the one PHARAON found with Raoh sokushi.

    PS. In order to cancel dp+C into FKO with Kenshiro, I'm pretty sure you have to press E first and then CD. This is how I boost cancel into FKO or super with everyone. I do d, df+E, f+CD in a slow and smooth motion. Doing it fast doesn't seem to work for FKOs. It seems like you have to wait a split second after pressing boost to register the next button input, and pressing it like you would kara throw in 3s doesn't work in HnK.

    "Note on Boost-canceling: The game is able to register multiple button inputs when Boost-canceling. You can input moves together while pressing the Boost button at the same time. This serves as a much easier shortcut, rather than having to time the Boost in between moves."

    What the hell is Guts rating?

    Characters' defense ratings go up as they get low on life. Some characters get more increased than others in Guilty Gear(For Example, Chipp and Anji become very toughened as they get low on life, whereas Testament is the least resilient to damage as he gets low), so I'm unsure if this game incorporates the same system. Guts rating is like the absolute hardest thing to test.

    The other stuff I tested was pretty easy, except the defense modifiers might be .02 off up or down. I have no real way of specifying beyond that though but all you really need to know is Raoh=good defense, Mamiya/Thouther=really bad.

    Oh also, I edited into my last post and it's also probably common knowledge but everyone in the game has 192 life.

    Very important lesson to learn about HnK: You can boost out of Hitpause. Because of this, the timing on cancels like this becomes very important. You will need to hit 6CDE as soon as possible after the 236C connects, don't wait and lazily cancel it.

    You can boost either hit of the 236C, and also if you are far away after the 236A, you might need to boost the 236C to get the combo to work proper. So the whole thing looks like : 236A 236CE 6CDE

    Took a while for them to tool up - Mamiya really wasn't that shit, just that people never SAW THE POTENTIAL ;_;

    I really don't know what to end combos with with her - I get a nice 50% combo though I'm pretty sure I can get more (lul) and by then I throw out a helmet bomb or go to super for a small air combo, of which, I dunno exactly what to do because the air combos in this game are wierd...well, Mamiya's at least. I end up doing something like:

    AC -> JC -> [A-B] -> [B-D (1 Hit)] -> Air Bowgun -> [A-B-D-B+D]

    I can chain a few other hits, but nothing seems to work properly. I need to work this shit out (mind you, I'm having lots of fun using her).

    Yeah really from there you just want to drop them and setup for an unblockable oki. Throw helmet, shoot with low arrow, do AB unblockable into massive combo.

    Off blowback combos, you want to end with the Motorcycle usually. It's a tricky setup though.

    I noticed its not to hard to pull off a half life combo wit him... and when that speed up super is on he gets mad good and can do alot more... like combo off his throw apparently!

    Jagi is cool. He does not rely on as much physically powerful moves as the rest, just weapons and stuff. I love his pillar launcher, shotgun blasts, and mud super.

    Oh I know he's a cool character, I'm using him. He's really fun, as long as you don't take losing too seriously because half the characters in the game will kick his shit in before he can move. He's still very interesting though.
