I don't see the point in a 500 dollar bill personally. When I travel I have a hard time getting a 100 dollar bill broken, I have no idea what utility you would get out of a 500 dollar bill. You really can't make cash purchases on anything very expensive anymore without raising a red flag and people will then suspect you of shady business dealings/drug dealing. So it would be a bill that you could only use at a bank, and even then it would still be a huge hassle.

you can see the chart here : http://data.cnbc.com/quotes/@GC.1

its been on a huge downtrend since mid 2012, coincidentially thats when the US equities started their record long bull market, the fact that gold is starting to rally now is a little scary honestly as it usually is inverse to the markets. could be indicating more pain to come for the markets.

    http://www.rt.com/op-edge/315952-federal-reserve-system-us/

I like this quote from the article:
...The answer lies in the nature of our economic system.

Money is fiat. This means that rather than our medium of exchange being anchored to something of value, it is anchored to nothing.

In the US, currency is created by means of a deceit practiced between the Federal Reserve and the government. This procedure has some smoke, mirrors and complicated-sounding terminology attached to it, but the core mechanism is quite simple.

In layman’s terms: the US borrows worthless currency into existence and then its citizens give real labor, goods and services in exchange for that worthless currency.

Since this scam creates debt, and debt incurs interest, there has to be ‘growth’.

To return to the heroin motif: the whole system is like a junky chasing a fix. When it gets one, it feels about as good as a normal person would feel without one.

    But then it needs another...

    Which is true

Any of y'all fuck with peer-to-peer lending investment sites? Thinking of putting some dough in one. That Monday crash few weeks ago royally fucked my portfolio. Going to read up more this weekend but the roi looks better compare to lolbank savings/checking account.

I've researched it somewhat, and from what I know you'd be better off going to the Casino if you like being taken to the cleaners. At the very least, it is totally unsustainable and unpredictable. It's a way to either make a lot of money or lose a lot instantly. Basically if you lose, stop playing or if you win you should still stop playing with your winnings.

I was looking for a knowledge free way to make extra money, but from the sounds of it, you'd be better off gambling on your favorite sports team.

I think the forex market is way above my risk appetite, and I have seen people claim there is money to be made there, but I think it's way too much risk for the average investor.

with the guys talking about trading gold/commodities; Are you guys actually in commodities or in the associated ETFs that track them? I was under the impression that the barrier to entry regarding commodities was a bit high. Am I mistaken/are there other pathways that I am unaware of?

"You embarrass me," said Shadow, smiling. Then Shadow took his penis out and picked Cream up. "Let me charge up for a super ejaculation!" Shadow laid Cream down on the ground and then took his penis with him, which was already huge and shaking with sex energy, and found Cream's Piggy Bank, which was full of coins and dollars and things to save up for money, so she could buy what she wanted when she had enough inside it. Shadow took it and using his muscular penis, smashed a hole right through the piggy bank so now it was sitting on top of his penis like a hat. Shadow's penis looked like it belonged in a fashion show.

So, I finally paid off my 2014 taxes because I had to pay more because of the canceled debt on my five figure credit card balance and a foreclosed/auctioned off condominium that was on my 2014 taxes. Still have a total debt of about $10,000 currently. Going to pinch pennies and see about going to another veterans place that helps with claims, like the purple heart or DAV or something...

Funny how China stopped trading after a 7% plunge. If people don't know by now. The markets are rigged. Basically, if you are putting your money in the market then you might as well go to casinos. Always remember, for there to be winners, there has to be losers, just like the games in casinos and NLHE, etc.

Good thing I bought gold 4-5 months ago and got out of stocks.....

BTW if you were going to buy any gold/silver, don't get the ETF and buy physical metal. It's actually pretty easy. The GLD ETF has over 300 claims per ounce of gold, which basically means if the fund goes bust, you're not getting anything.

gold has rallied hard this week, thanks to the global market turmoil going on. bonds have risen in value as well, which means their yields fell. just shows people are pulling money from the markets and going into gold and Treasuries.

Yeah. And I expect it to go even lower still.

Thankfully I turned of my payroll deduction for 401k and switched my 401k allocation to be 80% foreign stocks, after most of the emerging markets had already crashed (Brazil, China, Vietnam, etc.).

    Whatever.

My 401k was in the positive for 2015; not as high as I hope it would be but considering how roller-coastery-y the market was back in the fall, it did alright. My trading account on the other hand is freakin rekt beyond repair; remember kids...make sure you play with disposable income! I ain't putting anymore money on mines this year especially with the recent chinese stock collapse.
The peer-to-peer lending account I opened doe is chugging along fine. I'm already receiving interest from the approved loans I'm part of. It's not much for now but if compounded over many years, this ish is going to be a nice change to cash in. I even set it now so it automatically reinvest every $25.00. I wish I knew about this thing before I opened trading account; it's truly for the lazy investors like myself  . To summarize how it works: your account 'acts' like a bank and u can either fund a client's loan request directly or be part of a designated 'pool' depending on your risk tolerance/goals(each pool has different purpose i.e. aggressive, passive etc). A warning if anyone else wants to try it: it's not FDIC-insured and its only for US citizens(at least for now). I'm digging it because the rate of return is higher at minimum than the inflation rate. I There are two leading companies out there: lendingtree and lendingclub. As usual, play at your own risk!

Anyways, predictions for this year? My opinion: the recent Chinese stock market shenanigan is only scratching the surface and the events that happened in the past two days will linger rest of the year. It won't be a make-it-rain year, more like 'pray-to-Gawwd-No-More-Bad-News' year. Buckle up!

since the chinese slowdown talk started coming out last year and the industrial slow down....what in the world made you invest in mining stocks? 0_o

as for me my 401k was up like 1% , my trading account finished up 4%. i was in alot of the winners, Facebook, activision-blizzard, nike, home depot. home depot and activision blizzard were my biggest winners, so of course imma ride them again this year.

now that the fed is tightening, the markets cant depend on more QE to bail them out, so that huge run up in 2013 and 2014, that is what is causing this slow down now, stocks ran ahead too far of fundamentals and the valutation on alot of stocks are high, hence how 2015 ended flat(well oil did alot of damage too) . it all depends on oil, chinese stock market hoop la is all short term panic, in the end, their market doesnt matter, just how well our companies are doing over there and if oil can rebound and if the dollar can stop getting stronger, cause thats killing revenue growth for our companies in the usa.

Sounds like a fool proof investment.

Just read an article yesterday that cited the fact not only are you more likely to die by drowning or be struck by lightening than you are to win Powerball, you are more likely to be struck by lightening while you are drowning than you are to win Powerball.
