The current doctor is in his tenth incarnation, so given the Time Lord rules about 13 regenerations, he's got about 3 more left.
Which brings us to the Master....
Long story short, the Master likes to cheat. He cheated his way to a new body in the Tom Baker (4th) era, and then was supposedly sucked into the Eye of Harmony during the TV Movie (which is unfortunately canon). As the current Master explained in The Sound of the Drums, the Time Lords resurrected him, so he's fresh on his 2nd body.
It's the first time in the new series that they've stuck their hand deep in the old series history. For the most part the writers have been teasing us about it. So far, none of the fanboys are getting immensely angry about it, which is good considering Russell T Davies' scripts aren't the most coherent.
Can't wait for this Saturday!
Oh any of you seen the new series eps dubbed in Japanese? Pretty funny shit.

Anyone watch this besides me? Is the older series worth watching?

I remember watching the older episodes of Dr Who with actors like Anthony Hartnell, Jon Pertwee & the awesome Tom Baker. Patrick Stoughton (the 2nd doctor) was pretty decent also, even though he looked too much like Moe Howard from the 3 Stooges. He also was in the movie "The Omen".
Though this series was started back in the 60's & 70's, it set the stage for today's new tv series.
By the way, the sonic screwdriver was used back in the 80's with Tom Baker, Peter Davidson & Colin Baker. So its not exactly a new idea.
The TARDIS, after all these decades, still look the same!
ACESMITH5: Time Lords are only allowed to regenerate 12 times, but The Master did find a way to get a 13th regeneration. However, it did cost him to slowly & painfully, physically deteriorate.
I do miss seeing The RANI (That babe was hot!)

where did you all get that jack is the face of boe stuff?
RockBogart, post: 1699648 wrote:
Cause he says it in plain english at the end of the show. He was going through how he cant die by he is slowly still aging and the Doctor says he doesnt know how long he will live. So Jack goes on about how he used to be a model and that was his nickname "The Face of Boe". Its a shortened version of the area he is from, cant remember the full name.

I need to create a Paradox machine just so I can make sense of the season 3 finale. All that buildup and nothing but disappointment.

im pretty sure the master and the dr are the last timelords..unless they changed the continuity around.
Anubis, post: 1699661 wrote:
Sorry, but not true. They come from a far distant planet called Galifrey. There pretty much everyone is a timelord. Also, there is a governing council, that determines certain rules that timelords are supposed to follow. Even though the Doctor uses his knowledge & time-travel ability for good, he constantly has to break their "rules" to get them accomplished, and it makes the council uncomfortable from time-to-time.
A long time ago, a scientist used an experiment & it created all life on Galifrey to be super intelligent, though it almost destroyed Galifrey. He needed for it's sun to go supernova. Galifrey looks like a huge meteorite & the scientist died in the huge blast (or did he?).
Actually, he turned up alive, but was thrust into another dimension & wanted to return to Galifrey to rule again. But The Doctor had to once again break the "rules" & go back in time to find his previous regenerations, pull them from their time eras, and have all 5 of his previous selves battle the very first timelord (I can't think of his name.).

none of that disproves that the master and the doctor are last of the timelords..all the other timelords got killed off in the timewar. technically the master got killed off in the movie but came back somehow.

Rose is back? More Jack? This could be the best season since 1. It'll be interesting to see who replaces Tennant. I say it's about time we had a female Doctor (if that's physically possible).
