    So Ronaldo > Messi

    Was it ever in doubt?

I'm no ronaldo fan boy, in fact i think he's a complete prick but you cannot deny the fact he's won the champions league with 2 different teams he's won the league in 2 separate countrys and now has won an international competition albeit he was pretty poor in almost every game bar the Hungary one

These are things messi has never achieved, i've always said it ronaldo was the complete player it's just a shame the ego ruined his otherwise great reputation.

I think ronaldo has been struggling for the last year really he's been very quite in a lot of games he had a poor tourney he was pretty much carried by there rock solid defense i think injury and age are now catching up to him the fact is that he has severe tendonitis in his knee dont help, i think if were him i'd retire, you can't go out on a bigger high than the year he just had

What was everybodys impressions of the euros?

I myself didn't really enjoy them, i enjoyed the first lots of group stage games i thought it was very competitive but once it got to the knock out stages it became a bit of a snoozefest, fear football always seems to take over nobody seems to want it enough, i think it was quite poor overall, and not because there was more teams, i think it was the bigger teams with the big reputations that really failed to live up to top billing

The entire championship would have been boring as shit hadn't it been for Iceland and Wales kicking continental butt.

I felt the game would've been a remake of France vs Germany but with switched sides and I was totally right. Portuguese locked themselves in their own side of the field and waited for the French to lose the ball to do counterattacks. They only required then to wait that the players were too desperate and too exhausted to avoid making defensive mistakes.
There's nothing new here. It's classic tactics applied by many Southern European teams throughout the years. Italy won the WC in 2006 almost the same way... and the boring pass game of Spain in 2010 was another version of the same thing. It's not fun to watch, yes, but nobody could say you don't deserve to win when the strategy has proven to be efficient so many times in the past.

P.S. It's ironic how Portugal actually played better without CR7.

I don't need to see any more vids of guys getting their leg broke. What happened to Steve Zakuani several years ago was enough for me. The fact that you could hear his leg break on the broadcast was too much.

Shit man i hate those leg break videos, that shit is like worse than all the torture porn movies put together.

I can watch anything, but for some reason i cannot watch that shit, if you do like that sort of thing then check out the david buust one, coventry v man united might be 1992, it was so bad it ended his career, and made schmeichel vomit on the pitch

As a neutral, that Arsenal v Liverpool game was exciting, end to end stuff. The defending was shocking though, I have no idea how Moreno is still at Liverpool, that guy can't defend to save his life.

Edit: £30 million for Xhaka, what a joke.

I think he did well. Didn't even get sent off, only a yellow card. 24 minutes, won zero tackles, 4 fouls.
Was a good day for him.

Arsenalfantv is godlike and I recommend you all to watch it after a loss or draw from Arsenal lol. I knew they were going to lose with their starting XI, I wonder how they'll react on the market now.

And what a game yesterday, Costa causing more controversy, Hazard at his best again and this celebration from Conte! What a man.

Manchester United now have the deadly attacking trident consisting of Rooney-Ibrahimovic-Pogba (RIP) in similar vein to Real Madrid's Bale-Benzema-Christiano (BBC) and Barcelona's triumvirate of Messi-Suarez-Neymar (MSN). Finally seeing big names in the red half of Manchester. I think Jose Mourinho just might deliver a trophy or two in his first season.

With the way they are performing right now, the league title is out of reach. Just focus on the FA Cup and Europa.

Montreal you had one fucking job. Having MLS Cup Final in Seattle would have been hype. Gotta go win this in Canada now.

I mean I get that Leicester winning the title could be considered a fluke, but them being a good team at all could not be THIS much of a fluke, can it? Was losing Kante this devastating? That would be like how the Cavaliers fell off after LeBron left.

winning the league is never considered a fluke
    you don't fluke 38 games

those Leicester players have a lot to answer for, traitors

It's a combination of things. Firstly, they're resting on their laurels as they won the League, that's the angle everyone is focusing on that the guys are putting their feet-up and that's fair. Jamie Vardy in particular has a lot to answer for, the guy is super rich as he should be with the way he WAS playing but he's not playing like that any more. Vardy was a bullet out of a gun before, he looked like a greyhound with the ball, now he just looks bored.

The second thing though and this is where more focus should be is that it's hard to play a defensive counter-attacking style in modern football as it is because of how well possession based offence opens up defence without giving up the ball without a scoring opportunity. One of the reasons it worked for Leicester is N'Golo Kante, who they lost, you can't lose the Premier League leader in tackles and interceptions and just expect a defensive strategy to work like it did.

That, and keep in mind that Leicester mainly got good results because other teams got caught off-guard by their style (or, perhaps more clearly, caught off guard by the fact that it worked so damn well). They still got points later in the season, but things got harder once the other teams were prepared for the fact that Leicester will play a counter-attacking game.

Also I think I read somewhere that Vardy still has really good hit percentage this season, he just doesn't get to make as many shots anymore.

Suarez for the Olympics on the diving team. That comeback was ridiculous but PSG got robbed, there is no reasonable world where Suarez doesn't get sent off for that, especially not after doing it twice.

To win the CL you have to find the strength to go again after these suspect referees performances. Still, that's the biggest bottlejob I've ever seen... Di Maria had the tie done but didn't pass to Cavani or simply win his 1-on-1 against ter Stegen.
I hate both teams anyway, need Atletico or Bayern to end Barcelona's hopes asap.

Yeah I'm not a fan of either team really. I'm a Hammers man and mostly watch EPL or Hyundai A-League. Barca are just... bleh, so much talent but also so much money and the shenanigans with Neymar and Suarez just get really old.

West Ham are honestly a team loaded with enough talent to compete at Champions League level, they just need a second striker. Andy Carroll is great, obviously, but the revolving door alongside him upfront really hurts. So many close games against the top teams in the EPL.

I'd love to hear Piqué screaming as he burn ngl.

What a FA Cup Semi Final, Tottenham still can't do great things at Wembley and they plan to play their home games there next season while they build their new stadium if I'm not mistaking.
Matic scored an absolute screamer and Hazard had an insane impact. Eriksen deserves to win trophies.

It will be fairly reasonably priced for what it is. They're two huge names in European Soccer

Second tier teams, but it is what it is.

I still wonder why Atletico Madrid can stand their ground against Real Madrid in La Liga, but be straight INCOMPETENT against that very same team in Champions. WTF man, THOSE ARE THE SAME PLAYERS! It's no excuse to suddenly forget how to play.

PSG isn't a second tier team, they've been doing well in international competition for a long time and AS Roma have their good and bad years, they're one of the better Italian clubs
