Someone just told me about the Tekken sessions they have at campus. He was watching 2 guys play, and during the match, someone paused/unpaused and the match continued normally. This happened several times during their set, so he asked if there was something wrong with the setup or the controllers. They said no, one player is just pausing the game when he is getting comboed to throw off the other guy's timing and inputs. Apparently it's an accepted strat in their group.

This reminded me, there's a Japanese arcade called Try Amusement Tower that since 2010 has had a tournament called Super Tower Opera Extra, and SF2 Rainbow Edition is one of their staples. They seem to use a different version than a-cho, though (there's like over a dozen of those things...)
