lol i learn something new everyday. yea i always try to work the angle of "hey at least i'm not out there with my buddies drinking my self stupid", or "hey at least this way you can see where i am and what i'm up too." ahh if it only worked. but then again no matter what she say's i'm still doing it, lol sometimes it better to ask for forgiveness than permission!

Here is another mod i did with my HRAP3 nothing special. i only swap the hori buttons to sanwa and added black batttop with octo-gate and extra Ls-33 spring to make the stick stiffer.

My HRAP EX stick, modded with a Seimitsu LS-56 with octagonal gate, and Seimitsu PS-14-G buttons for the main 6 (with the Neo-Geo colors for the top 4) and PS-14-D for the Back and Start buttons (labeled Select on the stick since I plan to MC it soon).

Finally got my parts in yesterday, so I did my SE mod today. First time doing anything of this nature, and though it didn't turn out perfect, I'm definitely pleased.





Also wanted to give cleetus props on the Dark Tower stick. Excellent stick, though I don't get why there's a thirteen on the side. Nineteen is the magic number in the Dark Tower, but whatever. Still rockin'.

Someone might want to edit the first post and add in the "Don't Quote Images" bit.

Left one is all Seimitsu, Right one all Sanwa parts (thanks to akihabarashop for the parts, great service!). Both sticks use Mad Catz xbox360 PCB. The cases are teak.

two box lids

Not perfect but the best I have done so far. I took the lids of two boxes from Michael's, glued some MDF to top and bottom to make it sturdier, hinged them together, stained the box a walnut color, 3 coats of gloss. The brackets on the side are to make the box straighter because they weren't exactly identical. I won't attempt another until I have the needed tools.

After two weeks of Spain I finaly got the time to finish my stick, here are some details:

- Stick is a Sanwa Jlf, added the spring from the stock stick for some more tention.
- Black meshball top.
- Buttons are all Sanwa OBSF (30mm)
- Art is from Tobiee , with a little touch of my own. (Made it a bit more black and white and added my GT in the top right.)
- Art is printed by Dekalu on adhesive vinyl, did cost something, but its worth it!

Stick is made from a light oak with a light matte varnish, Sanwa JLF and OBSF buttons and a headphone jack extender cable. Base is covered with felt, art is Udon.

To say I'm pleased is an understatement, I'm a computer geek and woodworking isn't exactly part of my skillset! I re-used most of the control panel from my previous stick with a new piece of Acrylic (cut inc holes by the company who supplied it, I recommend this!)

New stick was about 7mm shallower than the previous, 55mm deep which is about as shallow as you can go with an unmodded JLF. The place that supplied the oak cut it to size for me as I don't have the tools to give a nice edge (previous stick I cut myself and had gaps)

Issues I had, Acrylic was a mm or so too big which was a pain in the ass to trim down with sandpaper. Control panel needed filing down, FP button fouled on the corner block, guide button fouled on the control panel so lots of trimming with a scalpel. Ditched individual ground wires in place of a daisy-chain one, much neater. Still need to find something to cover the exposed screw heads on the base (hence the tape!)

Everything is pretty damn snug inside, I was so shocked when I plugged it all back in and everything worked, I was sure I'd damage the pcb somehow. I've gained much respect for anyone who builds their own custom stick, my blood, sweat and tears went into this build and I'm painfully aware how difficult building a stick from scratch is.

I love the choice of wood color, artwork and buttons, they all flow together very nicely.

you can setup the 7th button for a focus attacks on sf4..helps if you don't want to press mp+mk during a combo or whatever.

Thank you for the compliments, nice to see someone else got the same idea as I did!

However, the sticks on that link were a LOT cleaner from the inside than mine. There was a reason I didn't post pictures of my sticks insides on the first post ;)

..I have to defend myself by saying that these were my first sticks. Also, this project was unfinished for so long that I just put the insides together today in a rush. I still have parts for one stick, when I have time to make it, I will try to do the insides more manageable.

Pretty standard, hopefully gonna get some artwork sometime soon. For some reason my HK and all 3 kick buttons has stopped working, but for some reason when I turn turbo on for them the buttons showing it's on in the top left for the individual buttons lights up. Anyone have any idea?
