Absolute noobie here. Can someone recommend a good value USB type device that allows me to capture PS3 matches to computer video format? Thanks in advance.
To the custom arcade builders that may or may not be here: I'm looking for an arcade stick that can play on 360 and ps3. I understand from the first post, 150 dollars is to be expected. However, I'm not looking for anything too shabby. I mean, Sanwa parts/mod-friendliness would be ideal but important thing is 360 + ps3 playability. No faceplate or fancy artwork neccessary.
Again, I'm just price checking. Don't start building one and then send me a bill! :p Guestimates are allowed.
p,s: I do already own a PS3 SE stick (which I modded) with full sanwa so I'm reasonably familiar with arcade sticks and part prices.
I'm a huge noob, but I'm not looking for mod advice. A little different question.
For christmas, I got a 360 CE stick. Today, for some reason, my RT and LT buttons now don't work. This thing isn't even 2 weeks old.
Will this fix itself (basically letting it sit). Do I have to open it up and fiddle around with something? Or do I have to invest in new buttons?
Thanks in advance for any help.
edit: Yes, I do know this is a mod thread (or at least I think). But this is a tech section, and I figured this was the best candidate out of the stickied threads. I'll check if there's a FAQ section for sticks and whatnot.

A custom Sanwa dual modded stick is probably going to start in the $200 ballpark, but it can easily go higher then that depending on bells and whistles. I guess you could maybe buy a dual modded SE for around the $120 ballpark. It just depends on how much the modder charges for their time.
I am buying a PS2 stick. I want to be able to use it on gamecube, ps3, and usb as well. If i go and buy some cheap converters off of amazon.com or some other random site, Will i encounter any problems? Do i need to buy an expensive one ?

At Griff get inpin converter from laugh at trading outlet post. Works for ps3 and pc. As for Gamecube get mayflash from play-asian site they sell for cheap. All those are lag free.

Don't worry, you are posting in the right area. As for your problem, I am assuming you are talking about the Madcatz Fightstick Standard Edition (SE). The buttons are terrible, and are prone to breaking rather easily. The solution? Swap out the buttons that aren't working. A guide can be found here. You can either swap out one of the other buttons that are working for the non-working one (the cheap route) or you can swap out the buttons for entirely new ones (the route that actually requires spending money). You can also try taking out the button and dissembling it or contacting Madcatz warranty hotline, but it would be better to buy new buttons. Sanwa/Seimitsu buttons are way better than the stock buttons and will last you a lot longer.

Thanks! The stick actually is the Collector's Edition (isn't the first time I ran into this mix-up), and I've actually found advice from a friend who has one, and he said to switch the buttons with new ones. However another suggestion I got was to unplug the buttons and plug them back in and usually that works.
I'm trying to find a job at this point, so modding my stick is up there on the priority list. Basically the modding I need (or want) is new buttons, stick(joystick, whatever the term is), and dual mod for PS3 to make tourney friendly. So not too much moolah at this point.
Thankfully, I tried playing today and both buttons worked. It did open my eyes and present the idea of modding my stick. I'm most definitely into the possibilities.
Looking to pick up a capture card that can record good quality without being overly expensive. HD recording would be nice, but if it's gonna skyrocket the price, then no thanks. :)
Any favorites or recommendations? And what do you recommend, the USB connected ones, or the ones you actually install in your computer? *shrug* I'm new to this whole thing.
Can anyone reccomend a decent 360 stick for about 50 or less? I've seen a few but as a total n00b to arcade sticks, I'd like some of the more experienced members to give me some advice. Thanks!

I'm in the thought process of making in an arcade stick I have taken the first step and I extracted the PCP from one of my Xbox 360 controllers. Diagram: http://slagcoin.com/joystick/pcb_diagrams/360_diagram6.jpg But I am confused on how to wire this thing (i know how as in i need solder and wire) but i don't get witch witch ones i have to solder and witch i don't. My major question is what are the difference between the common and signal circles, also what is the ground.

The blue color, "signal," all need to be individually wired to the buttons. The things labeled "common" are the grounds. The same color ones are shared. So instead of individually wiring all the, say, brown contacts, you can simply solder one to the board and daisy chain it.
does anyone know where i can get a pre made xbox 360 pcb from one of the members or online like soldered and eveything so i would just have to attach buttons to it?
I'm not sure if he still does it, but there's at the BYOAC forums named Haruman that would pick up the pad, solder everything to euro style terminal blocks and send it to you. The front page just lists the price for the service, but he had listed pad included prices at one point.
Anyone know what size phillips head will remove the LS 32 secondary gate screws? All the ones i have are either too small or too large. TIA
Nevermind, i just got it off. It feels so much better now. The general consensus is right. Take off the blue gate if you want to play 8 way. There's really no point in having it on.
Hey guys, I've had my TE stick for about 2 or 3 months now and my friend just got his recently. I play on PS3 and he plays on 360. Is there a way he can use his TE stick on my PS3 or vise versa? If so, how?
Ok, umm, here's an odd question. I don't like sticks with big cases with the TE or HRAPs, I like cases that are the same size as the T6 wireless stick, it's the perfect lap stick for me despite the terrible parts. How does the SE's overall size (width and height) compare to the T6. Any other sticks other than the Hori Fighting Stick 3 and Namco stick are welcome to be suggested. This stick is mainly for the PS3. Thanks to anybody who takes the time to respond! I couldn't find anything on SRK about it and google images didn't help at all, no comparisons to the T6 stick.
Is there a guide anywhere to replacing the cable on an HRAP? Mine is fucked, was hoping to use the one from my T5, but I have no clue how to go about doing it.

dual mod it check tech talk and ull find your answers i think u need a cthuhlu and imp board.
Would anyone recommend a good PS1/PS2 stick? I don't have the tools to dual mod a stick or skill, but I currently have a SF4 SE(PS3) and would need another stick for my BC PS3 and Xbox 360. Any suggestions?
Anyone have any tips on painting the metal plate on the TE? I've been using the bare plate and the grey coat is starting to wear out so if anyone has any tips or suggestions it would be appreciated
Is there anyways to mod a ps3 TE so that i can use it on ps3/pc and ps2? Is it easier or harder to customize the template and buttons on HRAPS compared to TEs?
I posted this before but I am about to order this now. Does anyone know if the seller is reliable?I've been wary of ordering anything from Hong Kong due to bad experiences in the past. But this guy has alot of good feedback and the pictures seem to be showing the right goods. Also if anyone has ordered it before does it come with the 5-pin wiring harness like in the picture? They don't mention it comes with it but it is pictured with one.I was wondering why it was so much cheaper than other JLF's though, the price is the main reason I'm ordering from ebay.
I am getting my buttons from www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk because they have the best price. The sticks on their sites are about 8 more with the wiring harness.

Hi,
I'm new here. I saw a thread called "The how to mod your SFIV SE Fightstick FAQ." I was wondering if anybody has a FAQ for the Madcatz SFIV TE Fightstick (Xbox360)? I'm looking to swap out the buttons and joystick from Sanwa to Seitmitsu only (no other complex mods). Is there such a guide?

It's basically the same thing, just follow the instructions in that guide and do the same to your TE.
Sorry if this question has been asked before but, is the pcb in the 360 madcatz SE stick the same as the pcb in the 360 TE? I ask because I may have ruined the pcb in my TE and I would like to try a pcb from SE stick to fix it. I would assume they are the same and interchangeable between the two sticks seeing as how they basically have the same functions/ options and the plugs for the ribbon connectors look the same. Any help would be appreciated.

Quick question. This pcb was given to me last night by a friend who ended up using a ps1 controller for a padhack after I recommended it. However, in the interest of curiosity I looked this PCB up on slagcoin and his description is this: Playstation 2 Dual Shock H (Avoid)
It has a permanently attached ribbon cable, so I'm pretty sure that's the one. I'm wondering why it says to avoid it, it seems fairly straightforward like the other "recommended" model, which has 2 common lines as well.

0 • Off Topic Disagree Agree LikeBut not with just wires alone.
Other components needed.
Hex Inverter and Analog Switch, Optocoupler, Resistors and Transistors.
Three SRK Members have each made their own PCB.
And all three of them sell, if you don't want to buy parts.
