Hi! We are in the final stages of the SRK forum migration. Soon, we will lock the forums so we can transfer over all the discussion threads. Please expect a downtime of a few days while we implement the migration. Thx for your patience.

Why did they moved the story thread to the stickies just now? I had an heart attack when I couldn't find it in its usual place.

Somebody should post the Discord link for the new people before the forums go temporarily offline. I have no clue how Discord works, otherwise I'd do it myself.

We got stickied. I think it's because we have the single biggest thread out of the entire SRK forums (and still going strong), tallying the most posts and views. Despite the many SFV Lounges, Character requests, and tournament threads in the past, we've been going on for over two years (more if you didn't count when the first story thread got removed for god knows what reason).
Like it or not, i think we've become an essential part of the SRK forum, so they deemed us worthy to be stickied.

(Short and sweet. It's funny. So the entertainment value is there if you want a laugh. I love the throwback to SFII with the plane travel to japan and the old school sound effects. It's a change from Sakura's story, where as she was trying to find answers for her life, Blanka was just trying to find a way to sell his Blanka dolls.
Who was the guy who conned Jimmy-San? I was dying to know, but maybe it is better that it's kept a secret. I feel there is more humor in trying to market the rather... cute looking Blanka-chans, than there is trying to find the guy who conned him.
Laura and Sean, sweet how they have the two fighters from his home country encounter him. (Brazil is a big country, so could it be possible that they live rather close to each other?) Love how Laura throws in some native language in there.
I love how Sakura still remembers him. But was the fight nessecary? I mean, how many green feral man-beasts do you know exist in the world? Love how Sakura helps with his Blanka-chan problem. And the ending reallygot me smiling. )

Overall, it was enjoyable, and had great humor. I don't think there is gonna be much that can be expanded on if we get a second cinematic story mode. But this was a fun story.

(Canon) Character Power levels/tiers are a completely different discussion from any spider chart can offer.

We've had discussions on the actual power tiers of nearly everyone in the SF cast before. But it's much more detailed and informative than a simple 1-5 rating.
  • Re: The Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread: ARCADE EDITION!

The spider charts aren't canon related, but they serve as general indicators to the players of their strengths and weaknesses.

As Daemos said, Zangief and Bison both have 5/5 power, but to say that both are even would be a far cry. Bison is almighty powerful because of his devastating psycho powers. But Zangief is pure raw muscle.

They only way that gief and Bison are "even" in the game is related to actual gameplay. Both gief and Bison (as well as other 5 power fighters) deal the highest damage in terms of their buttons, combos, command grabs, etc.

But to say that the spider charts are cannon is stretching at least. I don't capcom intended them to be canon as well.

Power: Value of Damage Output (1 = lowest, 5 = highest)
Mobility: Movement around the screen/movement speed (1 = sluggish, 5 = most mobile)
Range: Attack capabilities from anywhere on screen (1 = limted ccq, 5 = maximuum range versitility)
Health: How much health does fighter have (1 = lowest, 5 = highest)
Technique: How hard is it to use the fighter (charge motions vs qcf motions, # of combos + follow ups, input leniency, etc) (1 = simple, 5 = complex)
