Yes, there are 8 registered participants in the European Battle of the Stones tournament. And why is that?
Because these Italian organizers have been too lazy to put up any information on their official webpage. They did not have any info even about the last chance qualifier for regional finals in SFV. I tried to ask them about schedules and what have you but all in vain.
What an absolute travesty of a tournament. 8 players, at least Richard gets that spot in the finals for free.
This is supposed to be a Premier CPT event and with one day to go you have 37 registered participants. No one is going there from Finland, because there are no hotels available - how could there be when the event is held in a city with 80k people with only few places where you can sleep.
These major events should be located in capital cities like Paris, Stockholm, Moscow etc. Not in Jönköping... -_-
At least people will get free CPT points. Just by participating you are going to be in top 64.
Challenging Guile in any sort of meaningful way is....frustrating. You have to be lucky to get in basically, feels like another ~3-7 matchup when you are playing against really good players. There is absolutely no reason to even try to challenge him in projectile wars.
So what you end up with is having to walk forward, eating chip damage and trying to find that one opportunity. When you reach 10k + points in this game, you really start to see how bad some of the matchups are when your opponents know what they are doing. I usually beat Guile players by just going full retard on them, it is the only way. Just block strings into overheads, random forward dashes into command grabs and so on. I just don't care at all, if you try to play methodically you will lose for certain.
