If Capcom designed characters based on everything they did in comics a lot of them would play very different. This is a fighting game where they have to fit archetypes, BP was gonna be rushdown by virtue of his most obvious traits.
I sense that this game will define team designations in terms of 'openers and closers'. Panther seems like and opener off certain attacks. Basically the meme team of Panther and Rocket may be a legit thing. Anybody who can throw long lasting trash on screen to make his wall hike movements safer.
I'm gonna tie him with Dante, of course. But I foresee an evolution of sorts with the meta where BP will flourish without leaving trash on the screen. The guy who tore apart Chris G is already doing it.
Most of us are naturally looking at specials for most of our tag mixups. I think, 'imo', the future will see every normal attack standing or jumping being lead to much faster mixup. Essentially I think we're playing the game too slow, and if I'm right it's not gonna matter who BP gets paired with. He'll open you up for blocking Cap's HK.
I just dealt with a Chun/Cap team that made it seem like I wasn't blocking. Mind you I have defeated many Ultrons and Dorms and Coons. I simply did not know what was happening to me.
Also I spent an hour just bouncing between 12th and 11th rank... match by match. This game needs a rank up bonus. Streak based ranking systems are way too stressful for me. I believe that like other games I deserve the allowance of a few straight losses before dipping a rank. Tekken does this right.
And if there's a bonus for beating people 2 (or 3!) ranks higher than you I'm not feeling it. Same with discounts for losing to higher ranks. Doesn't seem that way at all.
