Anyways, this is truly profound sadness to see one of the more mysterious figures and potentially deadly masters in the SF realm being reduced to some lowly sales rep having to sell his style which has more than 600 years of tradition to some mary sue and her ditzy thirsty ass kunoichi bodyguard.

Wow, some of you guys want stoic-faced Akumas all day around here lol.

No personality, no humor, no quirks, no charm allowed. Just bland Hokuto no Ken muscle men that have been rehashed and rehashed and rehashed for the past 30 years. Men who don't smile or have any social skills whatsoever. Just FIGHT TO BE THE STRONGEST!

Zeku is the classic "humble appearance hiding great power" type. There's nothing "reduced" or "disrespected" about him or his "600 year old art". The first Strider being a lowly "sales rep" on the surface makes him about 10x more bad@$$ than he would have otherwise been.

Pretty much everything about this character has been a home run IMO.

No, I just want characters integrity kept in check. Sure you can have fun with it or something new, but when you already have something established it should be respected not trampled over and forgotten.

If you want to have a master of a ninja style going to branch out to develop his own ninja group and fighting style then fine. Why have him the equivalent of a door to door vacuum salesman not only trying to find new students but also try to sell himself and his style which should be reputable enough with the whole 600 years of history? And to Karin Kanzuki no less who's pretty much been shoehorned into mostly everyone's story because she's rich and knows everyone.

Also, why is one of his titles "Hates Cold Weather"? That's not even one of his dislikes which is Stiff Shoulders if anyone cares anymore. If they can't even list a simple dislike correctly then why should I give any credence to the "Original Strider" title than to say its just another homage to the Strider series? If people want to nitpick at one title then so can I.

Also, how could the Original Strider who studied a ninja art which was developed to protect eventually create a group of ninjas who basically evolve into something more in line with actual ninjas who are mercenaries who kill and kidnap? Sounds like something the Bushinryu would fight against rather than become, and judging by Zeku's fun personality he probably wouldn't either.

I'm sorry but I have to draw the line somewhere when it comes to this otherwise we'll have Darkstalkers, Star Gladiator, Dead Rising, Resident Evil, or whatever else climbs out of this Pandora's box Zeku's created in SF canon as well.

That should be it. Fun as always. Bring on Season 3!

Goes from being known as "Zeku the Swift" to "Zeku the Ever-changing ninja" to "Zeku the sales rep"......
Last time we saw this character he was in a potentially deadly fight with his student Guy, now he's chucking business cards like shuriken trying to sell himself to the Kanzuki's like they need any more damn ninja running around the place. Hell, more than 99% of them are just jobber fodder that instantly dies under the heel of Bison so maybe she does need to hire better quality ninja.

Not the confirmation I was looking for but it will do.

Also Ibuki has standards now apparently.
C'mon man. He straight up says Striders. That's more than enough.

He was also thinking up names for his new fighting style, not his new ninja group. Last time I checked Striders isn't a fighting style even in the Strider universe. It's literally just a Strider reference tagged onto a character who's already overburdened with Strider references to the point Capcom literally has to say the name of the game. Just in case you couldn't figure out that he was a reference to the Strider series with his younger self, alt costume, and move set.

You know, when C.Viper was introduced even though most of her move set was definitely inspired by Capt. Commando a majority of people understood this was more or less a tongue in cheek reference to him, and not that she was connected to him, or more grounds for Captain Commando being a part of the SF universe. Of course, the people in charge of design back then were smart and original enough not to give her some Capt. Commando inspired outfit to open that can of worms.

Give me all of your Satsui no Hado hate now. I know there's enough in this thread to keep me sated for decades.

For a Wesker costume Nash is the man

Bison, specially if Ryu get MegaMan (as it should), must get this

Bison with a Buzz Lightyear costume would be cool, but I'm not sure if Capcom has the rights. They would probably have to ask for Disney's approval.
An Emperor Zurg costume would be more fitting.

When Bison is used in conjunction with Buzz Lightyear, Zurg, and Disney in the same post you know this story thread may have hit the wall

What is even the point of Zeku's age transformations? Gameplay wise it's just a coverup for a style change which Gen already had before so nothing truly new. Story-wise, the only real reason why he would have this is to make his body stronger than his older self in order to effectively use techniques he could use when he was younger which is why he has access to more moves in that form.

So why does his CA having him constantly changing between his two selves? Why waste all of your energy transforming in between one attack to use it? It really is unnecessary and is just there for aesthetic purposes. It's kind of lazy too, they should've just given him an alternate CA animation like Necalli has when he transforms.

Also, I'm not buying this whole Strider connection to SF. Strider has its own pretty extensive canon and there's no need for SF to be shitting all over it with its own "retcons" for it to retcon Striders own story. If it does end up being Zeku making his own version of the Striders than it won't be a part of the Strider storyline but a reference to the Strider series in SF's canon.
