I'm gonna start the process of upgrading my tech toolkit probably in the next month or so after the stuff clears. I've been using two separate USB thumbdrives for Windows and important programs and all that. Looks like a trip into Dallas to Micro Center is in my future; because each of those thumbdrives is 16gb; and I was thinking of getting either a 128gb drive or going for broke and getting either a 256gb or 512gb thumbdrive and loading stuff like DBAN, a universal Windows install image (with updated drivers and copies of Arcade Edition/Tekken 7 already installed), and the programs/games.
I've been intentionally dragging my feet on packing my office because once my computer is packed up; I'm probably gonna lose it. On another note, my wife's boss got downsized Friday from his position and we're dreading her going back to work tomorrow; as I have a feeling they may downsize her too.
I'm curious to see how everything will look after the migration takes place to the new forum db software. It looks kinda ... meh from the examples I've seen.
Also of note, Wife and I have confirmed that we will be at CEO this year unless something major happens (or I get a job and have to work through that weekend). For now though, I'm doing the bare minimum to collect unemployment. On that note, I'll probably reopen my computer shop once we move to our new house in March and still Uber and stuff on the weekends.
Something you can also use to diagnose spikes in CPU usage is Process Lasso. Semi-free program after the 30-day trial ends (has a nag screen that stays up at start for 20ish seconds); but as a IT person I'd recommend that over Task Manager though.
I may have to drop out. I asked my wife about confirming last night and she was really miffed at the idea (and that I could possibly spend money that could go towards bills). I'll ask her about it tonight when I get off work; and post up in the morning as to what she says.
