actually, i'm surprised they didn't show any matches of the sf4 champion vs the hd remix champion. they battled a few in the very end (sagat vs vega, and a blanka vs guile match). this seems to be the last installment also

Arent they still planning to do the SFIV tournament, so if they did that they would have to show the winner which would kinda defeat the whole purpose of people watching to see who goes through =/

Do you have black bars at the top and bottom of the screen to account for the fact it's 16:10 rather than 16:9? You should do, otherwise the image is being scaled out of proportion. That could be why the textures are messed up.

Also you end up waiting for ages while a few people play against the same opponents for hours. That's why I gave up on AE. I do like the opportunity for revenge though, but you can do that by inviting the player into a match of yours anyway.

Yep, with NXE now theres 16:10 resolutions which have the black bars.
The effect I'm seeing with the fighter sprites is similar to what you'd see if you took an image in photoshop and shrunk it using "nearest neighbour" instead of bilinear/trilienear filtering. The backgrounds/all the other art looks fine.
It might be hard to notice depending on your display type and because the game does move pretty fast, but I can notice it big time. My guess is its not as noticeable at 720p (1280x720) as it is at 1440x900.
edit: maybe its not as bad as I thought, but the effect is noticeable in screenshots as well: link to picture
Look at the line in Honda's back, it looks pretty jagged to me. This screenshot is at 720p. I bet if we saw a 1080p screenshot we might see something that looks worse.
I know, I know, nitpicky. :p
edit 2: heres a 1080p screenshot where you can definitely see some of the pixelation: link to pic

Yeah I can see what you mean. I'm not an expert but it looks very similar to the chroma upsampling bug in some DVD decoders:
http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volum...ug-4-2001.html
Why are the screenshots in 720p and 1080p instead of 1440x900? Remember that 720p on your display would mean you're scaling 1080p textures to 720p in the game then the monitor scales 1280x720 to 1440x900 again. Messy!
I suspect if you had a full HD (1920x1080) display you wouldn't see these scaling problems.
BTW how did you take these screenshots?
Edit: Ahh nm I just realised these aren't *your* screenshots! Thus they are not reliable because we don't know:
a) How they were captured
b) If it's just the JPEG compression of the screenshot that's causing the artifacting

Did they change Honda's hundred hands at all? I was playin a Honda player with Ken, and he was getting in on me, using Hundred Hands and was just rocking me. There was seemingly nothing I could do. So I started zoning him with fireballs and he had no idea what was going on. Just stood there blocking, then in the last round he dropped. I was pissed, but then i realized it gives me the win if the other person drops.
Keep in mind i am scrubbish at ST.

I think you have to hit the button fewer times to start the hundred hands shit, but I dunno if they changed it apart from that.

That effect is definitely not JPEG compression. It looks like the lack of texture filtering is causing the effect.
Heres a link to a 1080p screenshot from a different source and you can see the same effect (just look at the jaggedness on the outlines of the MAXIMUM text on deejay's pants): http://360.kombo.com/images/media/10...0308_16148.jpg
I've seen screen shots from other sources which have the effect too. And I also see it when I'm playing the game. My guess is they tested the game on TVs where you couldn't really see the effect. Seems like its barely noticeable at 720p to me.

Mash moves come out in 3 button taps instead of 5 now so Hundred Hands comes out much faster then before and it still does crazy Chip Damage. Lightning Legs is the same. 3 taps gets you lightning Legs and they do pretty good chip. Just having them come out faster has made them much better.
P.S. Someone edit those pictures above they are fucking the format.

I'm going to have a look for it this weekend then. I'd still like to know how they capture the screenshots though.

They nerfed the hands, actually... aside from making all mashing moves require less button presses.

Go into training mode, pick honda, and turn on hit box mode. If you notice honda gets a big fat hittable square on his head every time he does it. It makes it a lot easier to hit honda from the air, but other than that there's no nerfs to it. His hands are totally detached from his body during HHS as far as I can tell. If there's any blue boxes in his hands they disappear way too fast for me to see them.

Am I the only one who can only connect to Ryu and Ken players? Every game that actually works is always against a Ryu or Ken player. It sucks.

I haven't seen this at all and I'm not sure what the problem is. In the lobby, I back out by pressing circle and if a game is going on, I can exit via the pause menu.

I've played with him online ever since ae came out and I'd bet money he's better offline then a lot of people here on srk though you're right who cares? I just would like to see someone beat him consistently and shut him up lol.

I literally broke thing down to him that he couldn't understand. He is cool but the mindframe of understanding this game deeply is not there. He was going off about how ST sagat is nothing like champion edition Sagat. My thing was ummmmmm this is the Super Turbo Series... not the World Warrior, Champion Edition, Anniversary Edition. I guess it finally broke it in to him when i was pulling off a lot of stuff. But like the old school head he is he actually requested that
"....I show him some tricks of the trade.."
Don't let KJ's talk get to you. He doesn't understand the tournament scene nor the players that make it up fully. As far as AE he is good, once you get past his tiger pattern and tiger knee to thrown__tiger knee to uppercut rinse n repeat you can easily see the win.
My thing why do people get this game or better yet step into the Super Series and then complain cause such n such can do like they did in (insert other series). This is the Super Street Fighter series... why did you even purchase it if you were never familiar wit the game for the 10+ years it was out. Confuses me.
Anyway to finalize the KJ thing. I asked him to save up and attend some tournaments so he can see where people get some of there knowledge, fame, and respect. He threw the family/wife thing out but I am like I have a woman and a job yet I can make to Cali, Columbus, Atlanta, Houston, NY just by planning so no excuses... just save up. We shall see if this comes through.
Edit: an like critical said, he is good at HF, AE... but we are moving on. Hell Im already on SF 4... this is just to hold me over and I am not returning to HF or AE anytime soon.
