Video Game Music Thread Ver. Once More With FEELING!

I wanted to share a few handheld items. I uploaded some theme to Youtube, but in WMM the filesize is half what it originally was after publishing. Still sounds decent though.

Game Boy's Street Fighter 2 had impressive music, it was the first thing I noticed when I played the game in 94 lol.

Neo Geo Pocket Color had some awesome games, and those games had catchy music.

True story I recorded the music from Gal's Fighter's, SVCMoTM, and Sonic Pocket about 10 years ago, using a rigged headphone jack into a reciever onto a tape. After a while, when I got a PC, I hooked a radio to the input jack on the PC, and recorded that tape(s) onto the PC, and my NGPC music are directly from tape/system.

I had never found an NGPC emulator that sounds like the actual music from the games. The music all runs slow, and low pitched, like how a PAL NES, Genesis, or SNES sounds compared to a NTSC version.

Tekken Advance. This game seriously has CD quality music. I think because of limited voices they fit better music in. Law, Heihachi(Ogre T3 msuic), and Yoshi have rips from T3, and some of the new themes are just as good of quality.

Anyone know how to get WMM to publish to computer? Keeps getting an error. I always have to publish it as an email attachment, then save a copy to computer. I think that it's reducing the quality alot comapred to straight publishing to PC.

I searched but got people with the same problem, and no good answers.

Whoa, didn't know Tekken Advance had mad beats. Too bad Namco never releases OSTs of the GBA games. The Klonoa titles on the GBA had superb music.

Everyone knows OOT has on one of the best soundtracks ever. Twilight Princess gives it a run for its money. My favorite track is the one that plays when you free the gaurdians (not the fairy that gives you fairy tears, but the ones that look like animals) of the fairy fountain. If you sit and listen, it gives you a feeling close to awe. It's weird.

Also, MGS4 Theme of Love is amazing. I can play it on Violin.

And we can't forget Shadow of the Collossus. Simply epic.

stuff on vgmusic is midi.

I have converted a few of them to mp3. You have to have a program that records your stereo mix. Basically play the midi while recording. Save the file, which will probably be a wav. see how it sounds to you, if the volume is good, ect, use a wav > mp3 conversion program.

There is no easier way, just because you're dealing with midi, which is a sequence played directly by your sound chip, as opposed to a wav/mp3. Infact they sound different with diferrent sound cards or even your cell phone.

obviously the bass is better when its mp3, since midi bass is always kinda meh.

Edit: you also cant do anything else when recording the midi, you will get any noise, such as click confirmations, warning, and anything else in your music.
