The two in bold:
Can't imagine a fighting game tournament outside of Smash that doesn't make the winner stay the same character.
Second, TIO, the bracket program I use, can automatically seed entrants by the city they came from, so we can prevent that from happening. Paper brackets are handy because everyone can read them, but TIO can always be helpful for keeping it organized and easy to upload later.

I didn't post the character rules cause I thought it would be a given, and yes I think the Smash are weird in that you can switch characters if you win. But this is how you do it over on their side so I'm just obeying there rule set.
-Yes winner stays with same character, loser can switch character/sides, you know the usual.
-Sorry no discont for pre-reg since there is no online payment system this year. It's more to help me enter everybodies names and get a rough draft bracket made before hand so that I can save a lot of time during the tournament.
-I'm gonna do my best to seperate everybody by region, hence why I asked for your city. For the tournaments that have a smaller tournament this may be harder but for the bigger games like Smash and SF4 I can for the most part seperate most people from there region. There might be a few who get stuck but for the most part most people will end up being sepereated a good distance from there friends they came with.
- I think I actually am going to allow macros simply because a lot of the new players use pad, there are more stick users but there is a good presence of pad users. Pad sucks but this is how they learned and I know EVO allows them. There is that one really good marvel player from Cali who uses pad and sets one of the bumpers to be both punches so he can dash just by pushing it again EVO allows this. I know players who use pad on GG or BB use the macros to burst or rc. I've been against macros for a good while but it seems I have to get with the times. I'm old :(
As for the bracket we will be using the big laminated ones from last year. They will be put up on the wall near area running the game so that everyone can see.

We lost a player for the BLITZ challenge and MIGHT lose another one cause he could be in jail. That is the best excuse to miss a tournament I think I have ever heard. LOL I <3 Monkeyspank.
So we are still looking for 2 more players to fill out the perfect 8 bracket. ANYBODY WHO WOULD LIKE TO PLAY (REMEMBER THE FEE) POST UP !?!?!?!?

I actually know a player that got arrested and hauled in because of speeding tickets on his way to a tournament. Luckily he was somehow able to get out of it in time to make it for his pool. That's true dedication right there. Of course, he had a very good chance at the money so he needed to go, it was a national level tourney.

UPDATE:
I was informed yesterday by DanEG that space is going to be a little tight but very doable. There is even an area that I'm calling the arena because its a seperate stage setup up in the middle of the venue with X amount of tvs. Cool idea but it takes up a bit of space.
Also to those who are going just to watch. I also found out that there will be a cover charge which is good I guess since we are tight on space. DanEG will talk to the owner today about that to see if we can get a good discout for that. Shouldn't be much to get in. Well thats what I'm pushing for.
I'll give you all more information as today and tomorrow progresses. Nothing tournament changing just giving out some info.
I'll post up more specific directions on how to get there later on.
I ADDED MINE AND DANEG's CELL PHONE NUMBERS TO THE FIRST POST.

I was referring to a smash player, but if that also happened to brandon that's hilarious.
However Brandon having a shot at the money lol

NE1 said that there will be a $5 spectator fee. This will include one hour of gaming and allow them to stay in the venue all day. They will be monitoring as to who is 'spectating' and who are paying to play as regular customers and not tournament participants.
Tournament players are more than welcome to use the free setups to warmup, play, mess around etc.

So if my girlfriend is going to come she has to pay just to stand in the venue? I can understand the space issue, but sounds kindda silly to have to pay just to stand there.

This is NE1 LAN's choice. I personally wish it was lower but this is at their request. Dan is the my main front man with NE1LAN so he knows more then I do.

It is a LAN center, after all, not just a hotel confrence room or comic book store. They are offering a service that is a bad ass setup that the RGV (maybe TX) has never even seen before. The venue fee is in place and it will stand.
I can symphathize with not wanting to 'pay $5 to stand around all day' but ultimately I agree with NE1s decision to enforce the fee. While your girlfriend may be willing to sit there and not play on the systems all day we cannot take into account of all the people that could potentially take up a lot of space and/or are trying to play for free. IT IS A LAN CENTER NOT A ARCADE, once again. PLus if you pay the five bucks it ensures that you really want to be there checking out this dope event, the best the VAlley has to offer. What, $5 is like 30min of a work day? Or a terrible fastfood meal? Or a good night in Boys Town? Really, its not anything and it will ensure the overall smoothness and success of this tournament.

She doesn't care about "dope events" as much as we do, but whatever.

I actually make minimum wage so I actually make less than 4$ in half an hour.
I have no beef just speaking from my point of view and to be honest I don't see how my girl friend not paying 5$ to stand around is going to affect the "smoothness and success of this tournament".
The MC Clusky: I'm gonna wear a name tag, you look for me sir because I want to shake your hand.
On that note can someone confirm if girls have to pay to enter EVO?

I'm gonna post this and leave it as that. The cover charge for spectators isn't coming from me or Dan. NE1LAN is enforcing this. We are just abiding by it. I'm gonna see if I can get it knocked down to like $2 or something when I go to the place tomorrow. Ill push for it and see what happens.

No need to post that, I know the spectator fee has nothing to do with either of you, I did read where Dan said that it was "Their" decision. I have nothing against anyone or any establishment. I don't understand why I have to explain myself everytime I ask a question. Why do people automatically think I'm attacking them when I say something?
I don't like the 5$ spectator fee, but I will respect their rules. I was just excercising my right to say something on the subject. Chill out when I talk, I'm not trying to start anything just stating some words on the subject.
Again I have nothing against Dan, Jim, or even the NE1 Lan Center, I was just voicing my opinion.
